View of the front street and the room itself is nice and clean. Bathroom has a huge soaking tub, next to two person shower. AC could be a tic cooler but so far we're happy. Side note you need to be mobile, the stairs are step and narrow, I assume this building is rather old. Love the charm, we will be back.

The inn feels like an old ocean liner from the early 1900s without the opulence found later. Some of the rooms are named after former ocean liners, and thus named the White Star now for England's most famous line, owners of the Titanic and many others, now called Cunard. We had a delightful dinner. It has a pub atmosphere but a bit more upscale as a restaurant or tavern. To celebrate we got a bottle of the sparkling wine from Kent. It was quite good and went well with the meal I ordered a pheasant croquette on a bed of peas and Brussels sprouts. It was excellent My main was the chicken dish which was very well prepared and delicious. The sauce was good and the preparation better than expected for this type of establishment. The portions are substantial and I was quite full and unable to have a dessert. The waitstaff are cordial and really hustle when the crowd appears. A bit on the pricier end, especially with the wine selection, but the quality is good.

The hotel suggested we take a cab but we managed to pull our 24 inch luggage from the hotel. We cut through the Holiday Inn parking lot. I wouldn't recommend you walking unless you're very mobile. It took us under 15 minutes. We enjoyed the hotel. Very upbeat. We noticed a photo booth on the mezzanine and table tennis. We had a choice of 500 points or food credit $10 per person. I took the food credit as we were going to eat before leaving for the terminal the next morning. Spent about another $12 USD out of pocket. Standard breakfast food options. We also had hotel bar food for dinner the day we checked in after the two fish and chip places suggested by the hotel didn't work out. Ordered: * hubby had chicken wings * I had Mac n cheese balls * BIL had chicken curry * sis had egg rolls We each were given a free cocktail voucher. It was like a fruit punch. Also got local beer. There's a shopping center across the street. It was a Sunday so stores closed early.

The bar on the ground floor is pretty cool and I enjoyed all the decor. We were given a complementary welcome drink, which was greatly appreciated. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Unfortunately, I only had about 90 minutes of sleep due to going to bed late and needing to get up early to catch a bus back to Heathrow. The bed and pillows were lovely and there was nice lighting, even a motion sensitive light under the bed so you didn't trip over things in the dark. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. It was nicer than I anticipated and felt "cool" and "trendy." Drink were a bit pricy but there are countless options within a short walk.

Accessible entrance and lifts are in the lobby. Stairs were also easy to find and use. It is clean, bright, and has a relaxed ocean vibe. Our room overlooked the harbor, we could see the Queen Mary 2, and it was quiet. There were binoculars in the room that were fun to use! We were on the 5th floor so during the day and evening we could hear the chairs and furniture scraping the floor in the rooftop bar (on the 6th floor). Not terrible, but next time I'd prefer not to be on the fifth floor. The bed was comfortable but oddly the comforter barely fit the bed - we had to sleep in the center of the bed because the comforter was not wide enough to reach beyond the edge of the bed when we weren't in it. There cannot be an outlet in the bathroom by law, so using the hair dryer was also a challenge. There is a big full length mirror near the bathroom, but no outlet nearby and the hairdryer cord was not long enough. Fortunately there was a nice makeup mirror in the bathroom I was able to move and could prop up on the tissue box on the desk to see my hair while I dried it. Keeping the makeup mirror on the desk (where there is natural light) is a good idea because the lighting in the bathroom is terrible. Loved the chairs and colors in the room. Plenty of closet space and drawers. There is also a snack closet - look for the price list! We ate at the rooftop bar twice. When we arrived in the afternoon we had drinks and a pizza - both great! Jon was wonderful & helpful! We came back for breakfast the next morning. The buffet was perfect for me - the overnight oats were delicious as was the yogurt (very tangy) and fresh fruit. Hubby had some buffet items and eggs Benedict which he enjoyed. We would definitely stay here and dine here again!

I've not really had gin before...I was pleasantly surprised how good this drink was. The crispy duck salad had a nice Asian dressing. Burger was very juicy. Lemon taste was tasty. We asked if possible to move and were given a nice table inside by the windows.

The staff is very friendly, wake up calls are available, and tea is available in your room. The outlets are European outlets and you must buy a converter if you want to use your American products i.e. cell phone, flat iron, etc. The English buffet breakfast for $6.95 was amazing, link sausage, English style poached eggs and hash brown's, stewed tomatoes, beans, fresh fruit cereal, steamed mushrooms and more totally worth the price. Many of the locals stop by for breakfast. The adjoining bar next door was a nice place for an evening night cap and the locals gathered there to talk as familiar soft rock tunes like Journey played I the background. We walked up several quaint steps down a narrow hall to our room. Our room was clean however throughout the night there was a turbulent thunder and lightning storm. I had to get up and close each one of the four windows that rolled outward and inward to shut and one window in the bathroom would not close. The staff was friendly and assisted us as we scheduled a cab for our next destination. Four stars because the wifi was not strong or consistent. Worth the money for the experience of history of quaint town of South Hampton, but don't expect the Hilton.

A number of smoking permitted bedrooms are available and the hotel has a parking yard [extra charge] or there are free disabled parking bays [blue badge holders] directly opposite the hotel. The rooms, bathroom and linen was very clean and have own radiator with adjustable thermostatic valve fitted. The full English breakfast was a real plate full and was hot, tasty and well cooked with very friendly serving staff. The reception staff were helpful and attentive but we had to knock on the gates to gain entry after visiting the nearby Witherspoons bar and getting back around 11.00pm. Rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and had more than the usual four plastic tubs of milk provided. When I booked the cruise I decided to splurge and upgrade to a Queens Grill suite. The suite itself was very nice. My butler was...adequate. He did what I asked of him but his service was indifferent. Maybe he'd been on the ship for a while and was fatigued, maybe he has other personal stuff going on...I get it. I just felt he didn't go the extra mile, as so many advertisements claim they would. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. I've had better at high-end restaurants. The disembarkation process was a mess. I asked several crew members what the process is (I have disabilities and occasionally need extra help), and none of them could give me a clear answer. One actually said "I don't know, we'll figure it out tomorrow." I don't know about you, but when I'm paying $12k+ for a cruise and I ask questions they don't have answers to I want someone to respond "I'm not sure, but let me find an answer for you" instead of "We'll figure it out tomorrow." The excursions and ports were amazing, but overall the service I received lacked the polish and excellence the Cunard name is known for. I might go on another cruise, but it won't be with Cunard.
