AMAZING food and super friendly service. Everything seems to be made fresh to order (we were watching them make the tortillas) but the food came out really quickly. The menu is somewhat limited but the food they have is soooooooooo good!

The main reason why I wanted to eat here is because the owner used to work as NOMA's pastry chef. The secondary reason is because of "Somebody Feed Phil." The taqueria is conveniently located at Torvehallerne food market. This was my first meal in Copenhagen and I was really hungry. I tried all three of the tacos they had that day- potatoes, carnitas, and barbacoa. Of the three, I liked the potatoes one the most. I didn't like the thick tortilla that were used. In the end, I was still hungry and unsatisfied. I was also disappointed they didn't have paletas at this location. I'm glad I got the chance to try them though.

First legit tacos I've seen in Copenhagen. Service was quick and easy. I love that I was located in the corner so there was plenty of seats..

One cheese and one asada taco, both delicious

Tacos in Copenhagen? You bet I did. Turns out, Hija de Sánchez was the perfect stop on my way to my next destinations from the Nørreport train station. I had seen this place on the Dave Chang Netflix show, Ugly Delicious, so I was pretty excited to check it out. I liked the tacos I tried save for the plain cheese one. Usually cheesy tacos are good from my experience but this one was bland and dry. The others were awesome though, and came with a variety of colorful, tasty toppings and salsas. Asada and onions were juicy and filling. At 5 USD a pop, I was glad for it. As I ate my tacos and sipped my beer at a standing table on the street, I noticed others taking their beers to go and wondered if I should do the same. It took me until I passed a group of dudes picnicking in the botanical garden, an hour later, that offered me a beer to realize that duh, it's legal to walk around with beer here. Slow learner, this one. Great city, Copenhagen. The food comes out in about 10 minutes and the lines go by quickly. There is a decent amount of picnic tables for sitting and eating, and other tables in the courtyard behind Hija (where a beautiful outdoor market was in effect on my visit) can be used as well. I was perfectly happy standing and eating. I would definitely stop by here again if I'm ever in this city again! Just no cheese taco.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, I can say that these tacos were delicious!! The tortillas are handmade and so tasty. The toppings are also a great addition to the overall flavor. Got the trio of all the meat options and its a great way to try them all!

Hija de Sánchez was recommended to me by a local as the "best Tacos across the pond," and as someone who has been to Mexico, California, and Texas, these Tacos definitely measures up against the best. Their vegan taco with kale was so filling you would've needed only two versus the three I had ordered. The owner is a former employee of the ever famous Noma, so you know this place holds up to its reputation.

A lil taco for a lil guy - not much more to ask for! Good tacos in a really cool market. Nice to walk around and then chill and have some tacos. Also, never skip the jarritos.

You go to Torvehallerne. You want to treat you and your friends. Everybody is up for some fancy - like Italian parma ham and wines. Trust me. You'll never get this far. Especially if the wind is blowing in the right direction. The wind carries deliciousness from an awesome place. You and your friends didn't even know that something could smell sooo lovely. Again, trust me. You'll want it when you smell it. Taco. Tacos. Oh yea, pluralis, baby. Order three homemade tacos from Sanchez. Get dirty with some of the chili sauces and clean your mouth with some spicy michelada beer. Euuwuuhh! I'm guessing your not thinking about that fancy parma anymore. You're in for the long haul at Torvehallerne - for the taco.. The tacos. Pluralis. If your friends disagree. Find some new friends. Fact: the smell really does lure you in ;-)

Copenhagen is not known for Tacos. Rosio Sanchéz (a fellow Chicago native) is looking to change that. Hija de Sánchez is a great start that many locals I spoke to are excited about. When traveling, I don't normally like getting things I can get in abundance back home, but learning she's a Chicagoan and a Noma alum, i had to check this place out. Positives are the really nice staff, the location within the Torvehallerne market, having Jarritos, and the quality ingredients. As many have mentioned, the price can be a little high for tacos, but when you consider the positives and the current scarcity of taco availability in Copenhagen, I get it. I tried the fish skin taco and it was good, but relatively small and not very filling. Plus I've had much more flavorful homemade tortillas and this one was a bit dry. Though, it looks like they change as some photos show blue corn tortillas. I was not able to try their other creations this trip, but I would return. Kuddos to Rosio and Co for their ambition and for adding another element of diversity to the already terrific Copenhagen food scene.

Because you don't need an excuse for tacos.

Well. The universe has finally answered my prayers. I'm pretty sure Hija de Sánchez has the most authentic tacos in Copenhagen. And maybe also outside of Mexico, but I'm not really prepared to start that argument and follow it up with any sort of substantial proof. The price is a bit steep for tacos, not gonna lie. But I got the 3 for 100kr special and all three were absolutely divine in their own special way (complete with the part where bits and pieces can't be contained by the perfect taco 'shell' - it's soft, unlike the hard stale tacos Danes thought were the Real Deal - and fall out, to be retrieved, and savored, later), so I don't exactly regret spending the money. They get pretty regular visits from Noma chefs to guest dress tacos also, so this is kind of like the best matchmaking foodgasm that could possibly exist in my world.

Came on cinco de mayo and was not disappointed. My friends and I were not sure how tacos in Denmark would be but everything we ate was amazing! Hija de Sanchez has probably one of the best al pastor tacos I have ever had. The meat was juicy and spicy and the pineapple salsa really cooled your mouth down. The bean tostada was the star of the show though. It was crunchy and fresh and so tasty! My friends and I sat outside and enjoyed every bite. They also had tecate cans for a good price to go along with the tacos. The tables are under heat lamps too in case you get cold and there was no line at lunch time when we arrived. Don't come here if you don't want to sit outside though as it is just a stand in Torvehallerne market. There is a storefront of vesterbro as well.

    Beer cocktails, CPH style.

Just like great pizza starts with a great crust, great tacos start with great tortillas. Hija de Sánchez's tortillas are fantastic. They are rocking una maquina tortilladora de Lenin and using Oaxacan corn which basically means every other taquería in town is bringing a knife to the "authenticity" gun fight. The menu changes daily but at least one of the taco standards afficionados will recognize, carnitas, lengua, or pastor is ususally available. But it is their tacos that take you out of the comfort zone, hinting at the real diversity of Mexico's flavors that make Hija de Sánchez great. Huevo and chicharrón. Quesillo (made from local organic milk) and chapulines--grasshoppers and cheese! Plus a CPH-ified beer cocktail, the Mikkelada and Mexican coke.

The dearth of awesome Mexican in Copenhagen has ended. Rosio Sanchez formerly of Noma has with the support of said former employer has moved out to provide her Mexican goodness. Mole, Carnitas and Crispy fish skin tacos with handmade tortillas are excellent. Horchata and boozy paletas also make for great taco partners. If Torvehallerne wasnt awesome already, it's even better now....

Having never had a Langos before, I wasn't sure what to expect. It's somewhat similar to a Canadian…read morebeavertail as they are both fried dough topped with something sweet or savory. The big difference is that Langos seems heftier and thicker and therefore can hold a lot more topping. I think the price for a sugar or jam topped one is Kr 25 which is not bad. I had the one with meat sauce and garlicky crème fraîche which was really fantastic. The sauce had a lot of flavour and the dough was hot and freshly fried. For Kr 45, it's a little pricy considering they're not that big. They are good for a snack, but I think would be too small as a meal. It's super easy to order at the stand because every item is listed on the back wall with a huge photo of it so you can see what it looks like. I did have a hard time eating the very messy langos. Quite a bit did end up on me and the ground by the time I finished, which made me sad because it was delicious. + delicious fried food + sweet and savory options - a little expensive for street food - in the middle of Nørreport metro construction and nowhere to sit down (I'm not sure if their cart moves around, but this is where I found it).

Probably my favorite culinary experience in Copenhagen...and I ate at Noma. *gasp*…read more There's just something supremely satisfying about the potato-based, deep-fried, salted, deliciousness that is Langos. My travel buddy and I stopped here on the way to the train station for a snack and a soda. I got the plain salted Langos, with the garlic oil on top. I found it to be simple, delicious, and a perfect companion to a cold coca cola. Easy to eat on the go, and fast to grab from the cart. The woman who runs the cart is also very friendly. Price seemed reasonable, but only in comparison to the exorbitantly expensive dining scene in the City.
