It's so easy to talk to them and they are really nice and can see things from a perspective I don't necessarily see, but aren't mean about it. I've had many different counselors in the past from different places, and they are usually pretty pushy or kinda mean about their thoughts and perspectives on what I tell them, but this one is so different and understanding. The np is too and if she doesn't know something or understands something, she tries to or looks it up. And tries to nicely get you to clarify things more. I've had many do it kinda meanly and/or rudely. They are better than a lot I have known and seen.

Being vulnerable and traumatized I thought she could help me. I was shocked when the 1st and only therapy session I had with her was focused on her, her achievements and her life, cutting our session short when her next client entered her foyer. To devastate my already bad experience, I began receiving billing emails from Dawn Fischer on a Monday night at 11:30pm. She intrusively repeatedly notified me that I owed her $132.00 start of my next session. I had only been to one session- I'm in bed by 10pm. Her emails woke me up. I informed Dawn Fischer that there must be a mistake with my insurance. She continued to send more emails informing me that I was wrong, and she was right. The last email from Dawn Fischer came in at 1:30am, I asked her to please stop emailing me at that late hour as I had to get up at 6am. She continued to inform me that she did not make a billing error. I never saw Dawn Fischer again, and shortly after I received a bill for $132.00 from her. She did NOT provide any service for me. We did not set any goals of therapy, sign any consents for release of information for other providers or any other requirement for a first psychological evaluation that would enable her to charge me $132.00. She did destroy my night's sleep and harass me into early hours of the morning causing me extreme anxiety and a sleepless night. Dawn Fischer is unprofessional and practices inappropriate communication with a client at 11:30pm on a Monday night, yet she could not admit fault or apologize and continued to reiterate how she right she was regarding the amount owed....for the very first session. I strongly advise against seeking counseling from Dawn Fischer, Anchor Counseling Services, this was a horrific experience for me.

This person, Michael, made no attempt to know me. I entered University of Michigan to study Psychiatritry, but my dad changed me to Engineering. So I minored in Abnormal Psychology, which included visits to a State Hospital, which was depressing. So many patients likely not getting weekly one hour appointments. A Psychiatrist must dedicate themselves to the patient. Obtain their confidence. LISTEN TO THEM! Provide consultation. Make a plan for future appointments and describe what they may accomplish. SUPPORT the patient. Pure Psychiatry is a shame. They take advantage of less informed people, and therefore take advantage them with insurance co-pays fully undeserved. I will challenge them through my insurance company.

After a severe adverse reaction to Abilify that caused significant cognitive impairment and hospitalization, I developed medical trauma and acute anxiety around healthcare. I sought help managing that anxiety so I could resume care for multiple documented chronic conditions. Instead of collaborative discussion, I was told at the start of appointments which medications would not be prescribed -- despite never requesting a specific drug. I asked for appropriate treatment options and support during a crisis. I did not feel heard, believed, or partnered with in my care. Patients with complex medical histories deserve thoughtful review and compassionate collaboration
