The classes are challenging but they are correcting form which is great. I have been to strength and conditioning and gainz. They were both great. Gainz is more focused on lifting while strength and condition had more circuit training including some cardio. The studio itself is new and they provide water. The prices are $25 per class but it is also on classpass. They also do personal training although I have not done this with them. This is a great place to train and is highly encouraging for you to get fit whatever place you are in today.

The last issue is not necessarily Blink's fault but for the safety of their customers they should be more aggressive. There is a homeless woman who practically lives in the lobby. She smokes in the open and the worst is that she urinates and defecates in the lobby itself. So sometime when you enter from the street the smell overpowers you. To be fair, they sometimes call the police and make her leave, but she always returns, often being erratic. This adds to the overall experience of walking past someone's bowel movements, only to encounter a gym where you can't get a good workout because of the broken machines or crowded environment.

The poor guy with the locker next to mine wasn't so lucky. His cash and cards were stolen out of his wallet. And a third guy across the locker room about 15 feet away from me,his locker had also been broken into. This is exactly why I don't leave my iPhone, AirPods, or wallet in my locker. I bring all my valuables onto the gym floor with me. I was fortunate they couldn't take anything from me. They left my winter clothes,clothes,boots and backpack just as I had them, so it looks like they were only targeting cash and cards. But if they have dug into my backpack they would have found $8.00 worth of quarters and an expensive iPhone battery Charger. I guess they didn't have time to dig through stuff, they might have gotten caught doing that. So they take everything in eyesight,quick and fast. The police were there taking statements. From what other people at the gym told me, this is a recurring issue--apparently happening about once a month--and it's likely the same person or group. They're using some kind of bolt cutters to get through the thin metal part of the lockers, not the locks themselves. Now I understand why most of the lockers in the men's locker room are unusable--the lockers themselves have been cut open. You can't even rely on a lock. I started going to another gym.

I personally appreciate this change which means you don't necessarily have to travel between floors to access weights. There's just one issue that needs attention, the shower area. Once a month or so I shower at the gym. Somehow the shower curtains have shrunk considerably and only covers half the shower stall. Beyond the issue of eliminating privacy, there's a liability issue. The floor outside the shower now is considerably more wet and far more slippery. I can't imagine that the budget for shower curtains is so constrained safety is compromised. But since the pandemic hit NYC, Benswic has become my fitness home, and I now go about 3-4 times a week. Not only is it conveniently located between work and home, I love the variety of classes! It's safe to say I have probably taken almost every class offered, and I have enjoyed all the classes. I generally lean toward the strength classes, and my absolute favorite is the "Balance and Strength" class. The exercises are different every week, and all the coaches are great!

Liam came highly recommended. He customizes our sessions to reach my goals, and modifies them as my goals change. Liam knows my medical conditions, which he works with, and weak areas, which he helps me to strengthen. He suggests exercises I feel comfortable doing on my own in the gym, or at home. Liam can point out details of how a position or motion should feel, so I know when I'm doing it correctly. I have the attention span of a flea, yet he designs routines that are challenging and entertaining. He checks in often during a session, yet he can somehow inspire one or two more reps out of me than I believe possible. Befitnyc has a variety of classes which I've just begun to check out, from barre-pilates and tai chi to cross- and interval-training to zumba, all included in the very reasonable cost of membership. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities are clean and well designed for a relatively small space. Best of all, the laid-back, diverse clientele makes me feel like I belong.

i joined because it's close to my apartment. on my very…read morefirst day i was discriminated against by another gym member due to a disability and having a service animal. upon signing up, i was told this would happily be accommodated. this gym allows other gym members to harass people with service animals and they did nothing to fix the situation. they just kept telling me to exile myself in another room instead of use the machine i wanted to use. they allow toxic white male members to boss around female members who aren't even doing anything wrong. i will be filing a lawsuit for disability discrimination and will not be coming back here. this was a traumatic experience that i never hope to go through ever again.

Yesterday, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, my trainer Malachi put me through the wringer (in a good…read moreway)!!! It felt good, you know, I fully got my money's worth. The young brother showed me the correct fighting stance and took me through a series of exercises in both the ring and on a mat on the floor. Ask for Malachi, not "Coach Popeye," who was unprofessional. About 30-45 minutes before I met Malachi, Popeye (who shouldn't even have that name, he's more of a Brutus minus the toughness) had me jump rope for approximately 20-30 minutes while he walked out of the gym and left me (my first day) to figure out what to do next. When I didn't see "Popeye" anywhere on the floor, I went up to the main desk and inquired about his whereabouts. WTF! The front desk young man quickly apologized for that guy's ineptness and took me over to Brother Malachi. I was in good hands from then on! Again, people, ask for Malachi and tip him at the end (I was so exhausted I didn't think to do that...next time lol). Peace.

My favorite classes were ones taught by Bao and Marco, but you really can't go wrong. I've even tried their yoga, pilates, and boxing classes Each class left me feeling stronger and accomplished!
