We live in a retirement area of Sarasota, Florida. We…read morethought that buying a yearly contract for $150 with ABC Air Conditioning of North Venice, Florida would ease our minds having a trustworthy contractor at our service when we needed them. In May of 2026, we had water leaking from the ceiling caused by our air handler. We called ABC - They came out and drained our overflow retainer and (said they) cleared the drain line. They left us with a $300 bill and an estimate for about $10,000 to replace our AC system. About 6 weeks later we had the same problem. Now we didn't trust ABC - So we called another company to check things out. It turns out ABC had left us with a bomb to go off sometime in the future. The air filter was gone from the air handler, the water sensor regulating water overflow (the recurring problem) had been tilted up to a 45-degree angle causing it not to function properly. Oh yes, and the drain pipe to the outside of the house was plugged up........again! This time Easiair Cooling & Heating fixed all the problems, and it cost us $150. I called ABC to complain. I asked for the manager, and the lady who I talked to (claiming to be the manager) said that her problem was that it happened too long ago. I asked her to send us back our $300. She said that I was rude and hung up on me. I'm sure that there are some honest AC guys out there - But ABC ain't one of them!

AI says a fair price would have been $125 with no discount. 6/23/26 AC tech completed prepaid tune up of our 4-year-old HVAC and said all was OK. 6/29/26 AC failed to cool. AC Technician Blake got it cooling ok, but said we needed a new capacitor, and he would return the next day with one that would "not be inexpensive". He also said he had added a little Freon. 6/30/26 I discovered that any needed parts are covered on Lennox 5-year warranty. I phoned ABC and asked what the existing capacitor's efficiency reading was on 6/23 and 6/29; what would a new capacitor cost me; and how much Freon was added. Tilley (?) said she would get back to me. 7/3/26 No one from ABC had called me. I phoned ABC and was promised that Tilley (?) would call me. 7/9/26 I am still waiting for a call. HVAC, including the old capacitor, is still working fine, but should the capacitor be replaced; do we have a Freon leak. I will not be paying another $219 annual fee. I feel that I have been ripped off and ignored. Beware of ABC.
