After denial of an increase for a very complex claim I had been handling myself for years, I decided to turn it over to the "experts." All they did was send the same form that I had sent for Decision Review to the Board of Appeals. They didn't even speak with us once before they did it. The judge did decide in our favor based solely on information I had already written and submitted myself. Hill and Ponton took 30% of our money for putting their name and a stamp on it. The first time I called Hill & Ponton I spoke to a very nice gentleman who wanted to send a questionnaire by e-mail to me. I read it and realized that there was no place to put my answers. So I called them back and I was actually told to copy and paste the questionnaire and answer the questions that way. RED FLAG everyone. No reputable company would ask you to do that. Negative stars isn't an option, so one is generous. To their credit they did call me 3 times after my online inquiry. However, I have a job so a potentially long conversation was not in the cards. I called them back on my day off. The lady was quite polite but robotic. She asked me a series of scripted questions. Maybe 6 in total. Do I work, so I need accommodations while at work, do I make over $16k a year. Boom, we can not represent you. I was referred to this firm by a friend who had good luck. In short, H&P wouldn't represent me. A little background on me, I'm a 40 year Air National Guard veteran and a full time technician. I've been denied left and right from the VA, but I did get my foot in the door and I have a decent percentage on my own. I could tell from the phone interviews that they weren't interested in me. I'm not an easy slam dunk like an active duty vet. Doesn't matter that I'm full time as a technician. I believe they'll take you if they see it as an easy route for their money. They kept asking about a claim I didn't want messed with and after reviewing my "dear john" letters from the VA, they said no bueno and referred me to another of their partners who subsequently won't represent me either. Glad they denied me like the VA, I'll keep hunting. They might help you, but if you're a reservist or guardsman, good luck. read more

They referred me to another law firm who then referred me to a 3rd law firm. Kept calling and messaging but the 3rd law firm kept playing telephone tag. Finally made the decision to drop them and deal directly with VSO's. read more

I found this "Law Firm" online looking to replace my VA lawyer, as they have become very unresponsive and quite rude at times. I signed up for my "consultation call" and a woman, whose native language was not English called. Me, she was follwing a script. She asked me a series of questions, and said "just answer yes or no", when I would elicidate my response, she became tense. One question she asked me was "are you employed full time" I answered "Yes, of course" She immediately replied "We cannot represent you" She then asked me a rapid fire series of questions about MEsh Implants, different drugs and cancer. This is not a law firm. It is a scam house. Avoid them at all costs. read more

Not one question was asked on what they could help me with with regarding my case and what my why I believe the VA's decision is incorrect. Just another predatory firm that won't help you unless they stand to make a bunch of money from your misfortune with the least amount of effort possible. I spoke with someone whose first language obviously wasn't English so they're employing mass call centers to help them screen anyone out that might actually take some work to get a claim approved. At the end of the call they just said that they weren't interested. They wouldn't answer any questions that I had, because they're not lawyers. They call it a consultation but it's not, it's a screening. Stay away from them and call your VSO. All of the information you need is online to do what you need to do. read more

Look the VA Disability process takes a while even years! The VA is NOT in the business of doing all it can to help veterans. I called him the intake. People were good to care of me. Somebody call me back within a week after submitting all my paperwork and they said they were too busy to take my veterans case I'm a Vietnam veteran I figured I didn't like me. Said they were giving me to one of their other attorneys in Rhode Island. Never got a call back after two weeks. They called me after three weeks and told me they gave my keys to two other attorneys never called me back I would not recommend these people for anything. read more

Do NOT waste your time. I contacted them online to file and appeal and was scheduled for their intake process. Following that, I was had an identical call with another person in the firm. They later called to tell me they wouldn't take the case but they would arrange for me to be contacted by one of their "partner firms". I never heard from them. I started the process 8/23/2017 and was given a letter stating they looked at my medical records and said they couldn't help!
