We had a blast and each of us had a different favorite animal encounter! It's great to be so close to the animals and seeing the size of the lion and tigers was wild. Getting to feed the tiger was so cool, my favorite encounter. I wanted to interact with all the animals like the caracal and serval but they don't offer encounters with all the animals, which I get. The otters and porcupines, sloths and lemurs were all unique encounters. Then there's the dwarf crocodile and snake and coatimundi- so cool. We were smiling from ear to ear. My niece wanted to take home a fennec fox while my sister now wants a pet prairie dog, who could blame them? They are so cute. It's hard to describe it as a zoo because you are so close to the animals and get to play with and feed some of the animals. We had an amazing time at Texas Wildlife Park!!

Highly recommend the animal tour. We got to feed some of the animals and learned a lot! Who knew Zebras and donkeys could mate and make a Zorkie?! So cool! She also introduced us to Patty and Thor the pigs in the petting zoo area. And all the other cuties in there! Lisa was so sweet also! She introduced us to "Sissy" the capybara. We got to feed her several times and it was so neat to call her name and have her come swim up to us! We were there for our anniversary and Lisa made us feel so special and even provided us all the fixin's to make s'mores on the fire they had lit the whole time. I'm a vegetarian and Luis really took care of me for each meal! Very much appreciated! The food was fantastic and he was great to chat with! Being able to take our dogs was just another bonus! We always love anywhere that's dog friendly! They loved all the new smells out there and they also had a blast! We will definitely be back!

Lisa was amazing - super friendly and helpful. We were only one of two couples there. Room was great and the grounds were fun. Amazing animals everywhere!! The donkey's were so friendly and the Capybara was so cute and friendly. Lisa gave me some lettuce and an ear of corn to feed her! Funny she is a "rodent". What a sweet rodent! Its a real hunting lodge, so if you are not into that sort of thing, it may not be for you. The only negative was that it is really far away from anything. I mean far! 7.5 miles once you hit the main gate and there are no restaurants near by, no stores, nothing so we went with the $100 per person dinner that Lisa told us about (which was almost inedible). I guess in our minds we were thinking oh its a Ranch, they will have BBQ or good food!! Wrong.... I would just recommend bringing your own food or eating prior to getting there. It by far was not worth $200 for chicken fried steak, flavorless mashed potatoes and canned green beans! Breakfast was just scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. Save the $$$$ on the food for sure, 100% not worth it. Amazing spot though if you bring your own food and I would totally recommend going there if you want to see beautiful animals.

Today I tried to go to the Riverside Nature Preserve that was listed on Google and Yelp as open,…read morebut unfortunately they were closed for renovations due to the recent flooding. They will reopen in a few weeks after the center repairs are complete. The trails were well maintained with lots of beautiful flowers and trees that are still in good shape. They have a water fountain with a place to refill your water bottles outside, which was convenient. I look forward to returning soon.

I sent an email the day before asking which was the correct info and didn't hear back. We showed up early and waited in the parking lot, along with several other people who were also waiting and no one ever showed up. After 20 minutes, we decided to go on our own walk by ourselves. When we arrived to the center, we had driven a long way, so I had to use the facilities and there were none open or available. Will never do this again or recommend it.

They have a lot of awesome amenities…read moreavailable like a shooting range, a pool with water slides, a pond to go fishing, a trampoline, a pool table, etc. My boyfriend ended up getting an awesome axis deer thanks to our guide, Hunter. He did a great job getting us prepped for the hunt and showed us all kinds of livestock on the property. He was very knowledgeable about all the animals and an overall great guy. Chef Brian West cooked for us for the weekend and everything was delicious. My favorites were the chilaquiles and the steak. Chef Brian has a special steak rub made with coffee that is unlike any steak I have ever had before. We would love to return in the future.

Once we arrived, we found the tunnel is just the bottom of the start of the trail. While bats had migrated south for the winter, we did see a few flying inside. The trail is about a mile round trip. While we didn't hike it, it didn't appear too challenging. The lost challenging was probably walking down all thise steps to the tunnel. We'll have to make another trip during bat season to see the bats flying out of the cave

Happy and excited children running everywhere and there was even a moment when everyone started singing the carols! The tree and Christmas Tower were lovely and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to learn all about it. It's also a great place for photos, or just enjoying the lights with your family.

In addition, I learned values not common in a small town in Oklahoma: Grace, beauty, striving to get things right, sometimes by practicing them over and over (swimming, canoe drills, horseback riding, kindness, table manners, pottery, even archery and riflery, for example.) I can't blame KFF for what Mother Nature did to us over Memorial Weekend. (Lucky for me and my gal pals, Friday's flooding brought Emmylou Harris' show right into the lobby of our hotel for an intimate, unforgettable performance.) This folk fest brings in talented musicians and song writers from all over the country for two-plus weeks, along with headliners like David Crosby and Emmylou Harris, and a TON of resources for said artists. Artists take note: You'll find seminars/workshops, like the songwriter school, ukulele workshop, legal consultation, professional development for teachers, harmonica workshops... For spectators like myself with absolutely no musical talent, there are vendors selling delicious hippie food, jewelry, clothing, massages ... and of course, entertainment. My FAVORITE part of the schedule is catching the New Folk Finalists performances. More than 800 writer-performers apply and only 32 finalists are selected to perform at the festival. Each artists performs about three songs, and with a panel of judges, six winners are announced. There is SO much talent, and I left the festival with a list of new musicians to follow. Camping is the way to go if you want the full experience. After the nightly performances, artists go around and have singalongs and gatherings at different tents/campers. Complete hippie fun. As the website says, "18 days. 100+ performers. Bring a guitar and your tent." Tent I have, talent to play a guitar, I do not ... yet. Things to know: :: Bring your own plastic cup/thermos for water stations, wine, beer, coffee, etc. They don't offer any throw-away cups; so you either have to buy theirs or bring your own. :: Bring rain boots, sandals or shoes you don't mind gettin' icky. Bare feet NOT a good idea due to the nature of the latrines. :: Sunscreen, bug spray, camp chair, and hand fan are highly recommended.
