Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

This cemetery runs along Barons Creek and is hidden from view from Highway 290 just a couple of…read moreblocks away. It was established in 1846 and there are quite literally thousands of interments here. This is a very orderly, well-maintained cemetery which has different sections. The vast majority of graves are surrounded by neat and orderly concrete borders. Three sections of the cemetery are completely covered in concrete, while the other sections have earth and grass separating the interment sites. You'll find one area near the entrance where many graves are surrounded by the original ironworks of the early 20th century. At the back of the cemetery is a section where victims of the Spanish flu were buried enmass at the turn of the century. There is also an African-American section, but there is little in the way of representation of those graves. Also, near the rear of the property is a section reserved for infants and children. After talking with one of the volunteers who care for the grounds, there will eventually be a website and hopefully a chapel coming in the next couple of years. Currently, there is no kiosk or information booth pertaining to who is buried where on the property. This was not our first time, but they have a large easily accessible parking lot and clean public restrooms. Inside the center, there are well organized sections or areas of pamphlets of maps, things to see and do, event schedules in town, and places to eat. There's always someone there to help with any questions you may have too. There's also a a 10 minute movie room to learn about the hx of the town and a small room to buy souvenirs if interested. They offer free water bottles and cute homemade Fredericksburg sugar cookies made by a local bakery. Make a quick stop in and don't forget to take a pic by the Fredericksburg love sign! : ) They are located a block from Main Street and across from the Pacific War museum.
