As sad as it was to lose my local Ananda community, I had the chance to move to the Ananda Community in Mountain View and become part of the most dynamic, centered, compassionate, self-aware group of people I have ever known. I love the opportunities to be of service to others as they find their spiritual path. The Ananda Temple is not really the physical structure on the corner of El Camino and College. The congregation of Truth seekers who come together to serve, meditate, practice yoga, and have fun...those people are the true Ananda Temple. I love the diversity. I love Sunday Services. I read about this meditation site from another review. It's located right next to the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden. To enter, you need a student ID which opens the door with a swipe. My friend's son is a student here. My friend is an alumnus of Stanford. They're so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful institution! Windhover was on the warm side. I didn't feel any air conditioning on this warm summer day in July, so I quickly walked through and viewed the artwork and felt calmer from the water feature. This was a nice break in our busy day. Students, faculty, staff, and their guests can access the inside seating areas designed for mediation & quiet work, but even casual visitors to the Stanford campus can use the outdoor areas, like the stone bench by the reflecting pool or the wooden seating area by the lone Japanese maple and bubbling square shaped water fountain. Also, you can walk the labyrinth as well. This place is clean, organized, and the atmosphere is peaceful which made it that much more inviting. Classes 5 stars: They offer a series of classes with select dates. I took a class during their winter series. The teacher I had was very supportive, and had a really great energy. Between guiding us through postures, and having us focus on breathing, not only was the work out great, but it puts you in a unique state of mind to reach a great mediation. Cost 5+++++ stars: They ask for a suggested donation. Best part: they forgo their own wallet and give directly to a yoga charity! **This place is really about the practice and helping cultivate your best self! And they are selfless in that endeavor! Not only did Bella bring so much energy and information instantly to the reading (with very little information from me), all the lives she tapped into made so much sense for me in many ways. I was edge-of-my-seat fascinated the whole time. I love how she taps into the past lives herself, taking the pressure off you, allowing you to retain a sense of control and ability to ask questions and take notes throughout. Even after all that, the most worthwhile takeaway for me was the energy clearing she provided at the end for my energy centers affected by all the past lives. It was super quick at the end and affected me in big positive ways that I (and my husband) noticed almost immediately. And I'm still receiving imagery from my dreams reflecting these lasting changes in my subconscious. Truly amazed. Highly recommend!

I've taken Slow Flow, Power Flow, Restore, and Sculpt. Power Flow and Sculpt are definitely more challenging and are great when I'm in the mood for something that feels a bit more like a Pilates-style workout, while Slow Flow and Restore offer a more traditional yoga experience. One thing I really appreciate is how welcoming and respectful the studio is. The staff are always kind, and the instructors bring such positive energy to every class. Even when classes are full, the studio never feels overcrowded. There's always enough space between me and my neighbors. I'm usually not a fan of heated workouts, but for the heated classes, the temperature here feels very manageable. Unlike some other studios I've tried, I never felt dizzy or nauseous from the heat. I also love how thoughtful they are about consent and personal preferences. They provide cards that allow you to indicate whether or not you'd like hands-on adjustments from the instructors. At the end of class, instructors ask us to wave if you prefer not to have the scented towel (usually lavender or citrus) waved over you. The instructors also celebrate class milestones and make everyone feel recognized (I got a shout-out after completing my third class!). These small details really show how much they care about creating a comfortable environment for everyone. Overall, I love the variety of classes, the supportive instructors and staff, the emphasis on consent and comfort, and the cleanliness of the studio. Highly recommend!
