This review is just for Khai's men's class on Wednesdays at 7:45pm. If you're unfamiliar, Google…read more"Khai Truong-Vinh" and the details are on the first link. I started taking these classes in San Francisco about two months ago when my out-of-town/state/country friend was visiting SF and insisted that I take his class. I was hesitant, but finally decided that this is exactly the type of thing that is a Bay Area vibe, so when in Rome, right...? I've had mostly positive experiences at the Sun Room in San Francisco, though individual instructors will connect with different students differentially, so finding the one who best suits you is a matter of personal taste. That said, I found that my strength, flexibility, and overall sense of comfort with my body has progressed in yoga more quickly than I expected. I've been looking forward to checking out the Menlo Park location for quite some time, as it's close to my work. Last night I finally left work on time and made this happen. Firstly, the location is convenient. Right off the main street, off-street parking and plenty of it, and centrally located on the peninsula. The venue itself is clean and well-maintained, a nice combination of homey and professional. The lighting is well-done and the vibe is very comfortable. Khai's instructional style is exactly as charismatic as you would hope for a person who's new to this, as I am. He's super-friendly, welcoming, encouraging, and connected with his students. He pushes you enough without pushing you too far. In a nutshell, he's the perfect yoga instructor. I'm definitely going to integrate Khai's Wednesday night class into my rotation, going when work and other responsibilities allow. It was just a fantastic experience with friendly people in a nice environment. Check out the link if you're interested, and if it's the type of thing you'd be into, I highly encourage giving it a try.

The class is about an hour and I think the poses that were taught helped get rid of my stress for the day and ease me in a calmer state of being for the night. I appreciated that she was attentive to her students and give great adjustments without being critical. She is very loving and compassionate. I think my only complaint about the studio was it was a bit hard to find and the parking was not as convenient was I would like. Otherwise, I intend to go back.

YogaSix has become my go-to yoga studio. They offer a great variety of classes, and I've loved…read morebeing able to mix things up depending on what I'm looking for that day. I've taken Slow Flow, Power Flow, Restore, and Sculpt. Power Flow and Sculpt are definitely more challenging and are great when I'm in the mood for something that feels a bit more like a Pilates-style workout, while Slow Flow and Restore offer a more traditional yoga experience. One thing I really appreciate is how welcoming and respectful the studio is. The staff are always kind, and the instructors bring such positive energy to every class. Even when classes are full, the studio never feels overcrowded. There's always enough space between me and my neighbors. I'm usually not a fan of heated workouts, but for the heated classes, the temperature here feels very manageable. Unlike some other studios I've tried, I never felt dizzy or nauseous from the heat. I also love how thoughtful they are about consent and personal preferences. They provide cards that allow you to indicate whether or not you'd like hands-on adjustments from the instructors. At the end of class, instructors ask us to wave if you prefer not to have the scented towel (usually lavender or citrus) waved over you. The instructors also celebrate class milestones and make everyone feel recognized (I got a shout-out after completing my third class!). These small details really show how much they care about creating a comfortable environment for everyone. Overall, I love the variety of classes, the supportive instructors and staff, the emphasis on consent and comfort, and the cleanliness of the studio. Highly recommend!

Special shout-out to Kirsten and Suman! The Instructors are excellent. They are super knowledgeable about how every person in the class has different needs. They make it super fun/enjoyable yet adequately challenging in each class. They are really good at the "instructing" part - keeping us motivated throughout the class. Special shout out to Mary, Molly, Lily and Natalie.

The classes are tough as hell, in the best way, but even as a beginner who's pretty out of shape, I've always felt comfortable. She offers great modifications and creates an environment that feels supportive, not intimidating. I'm guaranteed to sweat every single class, and I always leave feeling so much better than when I walked in. The studio itself is just as great, always clean, organized, and fully stocked with everything you need, from mats and weights to bands and cleaning supplies. There is zero musty smell, which honestly says a lot for a workout space. It's clear they really care about the experience from start to finish. Honestly, I don't see myself going anywhere else.

After taking 7-8 classes at J8 Hot Pilates & Hot Yoga, I feel confident sharing my experience. The studio offers a variety of classes, though I've personally only taken Pilates and yoga so far. What stands out most is Sam's incredible energy and sense of humor--she brings such a positive and uplifting vibe to every class. Her music playlists are also thoughtfully curated and always set the right mood. What I love most is the sense of community Sam has cultivated. It's clear she's spent years building a strong foundation. Many of her clients have followed her from previous studios, which speaks volumes about her reputation and the impact she has on people. Everyone I've spoken with at the studio has had nothing but amazing things to say about her. Without a doubt, this is the best Pilates studio in the Bay Area. I love this barre studio! All the instructors I've tried so far (Katie Gaddini, Ren Vardi, and…read moreanother name I can't recall) are excellent--they're attentive to individual class goers and try to help each person with form or offer modifications--to make an exercise either more challenging or more accessible. The studio is clean and well-kept, yoga mats are disinfected after every use. The floors are a finished cork material that are a little easier on the joints. The front desk staff are always kind and courteous. I always feel genuinely welcome whenever I come in, which is a huge reason why I keep returning. The parking situation is free street parking on Old County Rd. Usually there's at least a spot available, but give yourself a few minutes before class in case you need to maneuver into a spot on the opposite side of the road. One unique aspect of this studio is the play lounge. For a nominal fee and advanced reservation, a childcare provider can look after your child(ren) during your class, with plenty of toys and activity materials provided. So far I have not needed to use this perk, so I can't speak to experiences there, but it's still something special I have not seen at other fitness studios. Another thing to note is that a few of the classes are livestreamed, so if recording bothers you, just check the class at the time of booking. Most of the studio goers are women in their 20s-40s. I have seen several mature attendees and Katie was great about checking on them during more challenging poses in the mindful flow classes. Everyone wears fitness attire ranging from sports bras, tank tops, t-shirts, leggings, shorts etc. During the barre classes, many go barefoot, some choose to wear grippy socks. I love the judgment-free environment here. We are all at different stages of our fitness journey, and everyone is welcome in this studio.

I cannot say enough amazing things about HOTWORX in Belmont! From the moment I walked in, I felt…read morewelcomed and genuinely cared for and a huge part of that experience was because of Neil L. HOTWORX being open 24 hours is honestly a game changer. My schedule can get busy, and having the flexibility to book sessions whenever it works for me has made it so much easier to stay consistent. The concept of infrared sauna workouts is something you truly have to experience to understand. You're in a private sauna room choosing from multiple guided sessions, everything from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training (HIIT). No matter which workout I choose, I leave drenched in sweat but in the best way possible. What really stands out is how I feel afterward. Instead of feeling completely drained like some traditional workouts, I feel relaxed, lighter, and almost reset. The infrared heat helps reduce soreness, speeds up recovery, and gives you that detox feeling that makes your body feel refreshed from the inside out. It's the perfect combination of intense and therapeutic. Now let me talk about Neil L. phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe him. He took the time to personally show us around, explain how each session works, and break down how to maximize results. He wasn't just giving a tour; he was educating us. He shared tips on how to structure workouts, how to stay consistent, and how to really push ourselves while still listening to our bodies. His encouragement genuinely motivates you to try your best. What I also appreciated was how knowledgeable he is about their products. He doesn't "sell" you he explains how everything supports your goals. From supplements to recovery tools, he connects it all back to performance and consistency, which honestly makes you want to invest in yourself and keep showing up. The atmosphere at HOTWORX Belmont is clean, modern, and empowering. You feel like you're part of something focused on growth and wellness. If you're looking for a workout that makes you sweat, detox, recover faster, and actually feel good afterward this is it. Highly recommend HOTWORX Belmont and especially Neil L. for the outstanding customer care and support!
