While my daughter was perusing the fashion- she got a super cute Betsey Johnson dress which thrilled her!- I checked out the book section and was SO impressed! It's set up like a real book store- with sections of different subjects and the fiction categorized by author's last name. There's a HUGE selection of books! When we went to checkout we found out everything is 30% off on Wednesdays- wow! What a treat! Our checkout lady was super sweet too. I'm rarely in Liberty, but if I ever am again I'll definitely go here again for some treasures. read more

They made it very clear that they CLOSE in 2 minutes. I got there at 4:53 and wanted to check it out really quick and I got reminded 4 SEPERATE TIMES they closed at 4:55. They didn't respect my time and seemed very antsy to get me to leave. Also, the store smells like burnt batteries. That's a little concerning. read more

This is my favorite thrift store! The mission of the store supports those in the Hillcrest transitional housing program - which is an added bonus. They have daily sales that rotate, so if you're on a budget, watch their FB feed. If you just enjoy hunting for treasures - housewares, clothes, books, vintage - the prices are as amazing as the selection! They take donations Tue-Sat if you're cleaning house - and the tax receipt doubles as a coupon. read more

I had high hopes for thrifting here. It was a lot bigger than I realized, however, it was not as "clean" as I had hoped. I did appreciate the pricing being standard for each item. But, anything name brand was pulled to a special section. That's part of thrifting that is fun...finding a good deal/score on a name brand item. I wasn't that impressed. I probably won't be back. I like thrift stores that are out of town. This store is nicely organized. The book area looks like a used book alcove. The toys had an area. The clothes nicely organized. The craft area, everything seemed organized and available. I also noticed weird personal care items which was rather odd. But the rest was a kind of nice store. I bought a few things for my grandson and a bag of rubber stamps for me. read more

This my favorite thrift store. I've bought my baby's entire wardrobe here. The only place in town with decent priced kids' clothes. I love going here. The staff is always super awesome and kind and go out of their way to make my kids and I feel special at checkout. I also personally know two homeless individuals that have been helped and housed by the Hillcrest Church Mission. 10/10 recommend shopping and donating here. read more

There are a ton of reasons to love Hillcrest Hope Thrift Shop. Most importantly, the staff is AMAZING! (Look for the little signs and jokes sprinkled around the store.) Second, they're in a really fun location in near the square in Liberty. Next, I've never walked out of this store without finding some unique treasure. It's clean and well organized. read more

This used to be an adorable little church thrift shop with affordable prices,, and now they are trying to be a high end Resale store! Charging astronomical prices! And they have an older gentleman working in there who price is jewelry and labeled a vintage bracelet as silver (originally for 40! And marked it down to 20 ) (he was very uppity, and said that he knew exactly what he was talking about. It was definitely silver ) it turns out that it's no more than costume jewelry! I guess that's on me for trusting someone else's word! read more

I received a coupon in the mail for the Thrift Store so I thought I'd go check it out. It was a nice store and had a lot of items most at pretty cheap prices. I bought a few things and the cashier at checkout was very friendly and a younger employee even offered to help me carry out my purchases. I plan on visiting again and also donating some unused items. read more

I was excited to find out that this store was open on Monday since the other Hillcrest stores in Parkville and Platte city are closed on Mondays. I made the drive there and was sadly disappointed. This store is not as nice as the other Hillcrest locations. There was really nothing of interest at all. There is a decent variety of items and a lot of clothes but sadly no hidden gems or anything to entice me to return. read more

I have a confession of sorts. I like thrift stores. I like thrift stores for very specific items. jackets and shirts, housewares and picture frames. That's pretty much it, except I did buy a awesome instant camera here once before I found out the film costs like $3 a picture. So there are some thrift stores that suit certain people better than others and, for the most part, this one isn't for my narrowly focused needs - but that doesn't mean it's not for lots of other people. The low star rating is for two reasons, and they're pretty big reasons. First: there's a lot of what looks like discontinued inventory here. Like weird odds and ends that were discontinued because whoever was selling them first realized no one wanted to buy them. Things like toner cartridges for 80s era printers, or dot matrix paper - stuff like that. Second: the style. The style of clothes, housewares, and furniture is one particular style. If you're not into that, this store isn't for you. There are exceptions. I mentioned the instant camera, and I bought a fine jacket that had made it's way to the clothes. Other than the occasional happy coincidence, this is more like a really big garage sale. That said, I believe that at least a portion of the income from this store goes to local families in need of help. I don't know how much or how that works but they definitely get extra credit for supporting the community. read more

A treasure trove of thrifty goodies. You couldn't ask for a better thrift shop. It is clean, organized, and open. And by open I mean there is a good amount of space in the store itself so you're not so cramped and crowded. Often times you walk into a thrift store and have no idea where to rummage, and it's like going through grandma and grandpa's garage that's piled high. But this store is very open and airy. The furniture selection is very large, but a lot of pieces are older. They are good for restoring, or reupholstering, or just to have some furniture pieces though so I do appreciate that. The kitchen and home decor area is quite large and you can really find some good deals in it. I picked up quite a few items that I could paint and make more modern, or that I could sand and re-do to make use of them for Halloween decorations. Be creative people. The clothing selection is very good, I did not look thru the women's section as much as the men's. But my husband definitely found some good pieces for working out, he does crossfit and is retired military so he is quite a big guy so it's nice getting cheaper prices on work out clothes. The book section is very big and they even label their genres which is something you don't see a lot in bargain style stores. The children's section was huge, although we didn't go thru it because we don't have kids. The employee that we met seemed nice, and polite. We had no quarrels or qualms with the store itself. Your prices for used, beat up furniture are marked at New Furniture Prices!!  You've seem to lost focus that you are a Trift Store.   I've shoped in your store for over 10 years, and under old management that was Cordial and Friendly, management that always greeted you with a smile and a hello.  I believe in your cause and in the work you do, but let's get real, if you're going to get chewed out because you opened the front entrance door less than one minute befor store opening, as instructed to do so by an employee that was parking his car,  and the manager chews you out with total dis respect and rudeness for doing so, that is a big problem with me.  It's also a  problem when I come in your store and inquire about a dirty old rug that's rolled up,  laying on the floor and  doesn't have a price on it, and the manager can't give me a price  without first pulling out his phone and googleing the rug to see what he can sell for!  If you can't give a price, then I'm certainly not Interested in shopping in your store anymore.   The same manager a few months ago, was loading up a old coffee table that was in your store for months and hauling it to the dumpster, I told him I'd haul it off for him,  he wouldn't allow that, saying I could give him 30 dollars for it.   Guess where that coffee table ended up? In the dumpster. Hillcrest,  remember where you came from, remember your long time loyal customers.  Customers like me that have donated hundreds of dollars in merchandise and a customer that has also spent thousands of dollars in your store!  Teach your manaager not to puff out his chest with rudeness and to ask his customers how they are doing.  Respect and Customer Service go a long way with me.  Without that, you have nothing. read more

A very large thrift store, well organized and clean, Hillcrest suited me just fine. I always like to go to thrift stores when I'm traveling, just to see what I could stumble upon, and this place has a deal on Yelp and Foursquare. I found a few decent CDs and my companions found a few things as well. The cashier was super friendly and excited to process a Yelp check-in deal. Recommended. read more

Look, I love this place! I love the finds, I love the charity. I've volunteered here, we donate regularly here, I love the deals. That being said why do I give them 2 stars? The Management and paid staff (not the volunteers) are RUDE AND UNHELPFUL! We have been told my child was too loud on two occasions because he was crying, once my 3 year old had an accident one lady told him how he was gross, and the manager (Maria) rolled her eyes and said that was nasty right in front of him. A few weeks ago an 80 something year old woman was leaving and asked for help with a large item and was told she could get it herself by the desk lady. I helped her out. It's disappointing. 5/5 if they get friendlier people who like kids! read more

Plus: This store is very organized and very clean. Shoes are in order with sizes posted (wow!), shelves are never grimy, clothes are not jam-packed on racks, check-out area is nice, clean and organized. There are not the stained, torn, tattered, beat-up or "Why did someone not throw that away?!" kind of items that might creep you out at other thrift shops. Con: Not much manager support if you have a problem or question. Note: do not ever, ever, ever walk in the "other" single door, front entrance. This will absolutely irk employees and cause you to regret not having known this sooner. read more

Pretty much my favorite Liberty MO thrift store. I like it because there is such a great selection of items and they are fairly organized into a way that makes sense! To accept DONATIONS and then price unrealistic amounts of money for resale items is to me poor charity management.I am still confused by the $40 Price tag last month on a $10 Walmart exclusive idem.it even had Walmart tag on it ( with price marked out of course) and who thought up selling free covered liberty hospital cups for $2? I also see stained area rugs priced $15~$50.I did find some hidden treasures as well but the majority for me was a bit over the top and I would encourage them to implement a better more experienced way to price USED AND DONATED merchandise read more

This has quickly become my new favorite thrift store. I think a lot of the reviews were before their remodel. I noticed nothing gross or odd smelling here. Things are priced fairly well and there was a ton of variety all the times I've been there. About 2x a week in the last month. 90 percent of the profits go to their mission that helps needy families. I even have an acquaintance that recently started their program after her husband left and she had to start over with her children. Their mission and their thrift store are great. read more
