So before I get too harsh I will say I left here with a gift card for my son. Their selection and prices are excellent. Even their young men's department had me excited for my 17 y/o. It's the staff that leave much to be desired. When I first got there with my box the girl working the counter looked at me like I was crazy. I could feel her judgement seeping through me and it made me cringe. She was sure to tell me "our buying policies are current, like within the last 2 years and in style" and I just kinda shook my head embarrassed. Apparently she couldn't get past her judgement of me, they took nothing and there was a brand new maxi dress in there never worn. As I was pulling out I noticed clothes mentor. My son dropped off bags of good clothing...they said they were too busy and would get back to him. They got back to him by putting the clothing out on hangers...so they literally stole from us. Said we have a $10 store credit. This is unacceptable and I should file a police report for stolen merchandise. read more

brought in an entire bag of gently/never worn plus size items including size 11 dollskill/Delia's leopard platform boots, not one thing was purchased and I got told the particular style doesn't "sell well" or they're "overstocked" (on leopard print platform boots, okay) so avoid bringing your fat person clothing here. also didn't help that every person working there had the snottiest looks on their faces and handled my items like they were picking up garbage. y'all are gross. RUDE/HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went there a little over 1 months ago. Dropped off some clothes and shopped around. I could hear the girls making distasteful comments about some of the items I brought while I was in ear shot distance. They looked at my stuff for less than 5 minutes and took nothing. Fine, whatever, I took the same items to the lees summit location (which the inventory and quality is 10x better) and they took almost everything I had. HORRIBLE customer service skills can't believe they would hire someone like that. read more

don't waste your time coming to this location, not only do they have questionable employees working the front, but you will bring in a bunch of really good stuff that are worth hundreds of dollars with tags still on them and they won't even take it or they'll give you four dollars for a pair of shoes that were originally $500. It's weird. I've been to Plato's all over the country, I had actually just been to the one a few miles away to sell some stuff the day before and they were delightful. These girls threw me for a loop though. They were very superior and condescending. In my haste I made some mistakes with forgetting containers for selling which was 100 PERCENT MY FAULT. I would have happily gotten them contained and come back had the staff asked. Instead I got an extremely judgmental/ passive aggressive reception from everyone. Maybe if it's that big of a deal, allow your staff to refuse items that aren't in containers so they don't feel so misused read more

Please don't bother trying to give used clothing away at this location. I've heard Plato's doesn't take much but today I was in disbelief. I dropped a bag off of used clothes and signed in. Not even 5 minutes later they texted me saying they had completed looking through everything. I thought it was odd how quick it was. I came back and they told me nothing would sell at their location. The bag looked untouched. I'm 99% sure they didn't look through anything. Plato's is an absolute joke. read more

Liberty Platos Closet has an amazing social media page and the selfie wall is incredibly cute & very trendy. However, they need to spend the same amount of time they put into making their social media & store seem aesthetic into their quality of staff. The staff is not super friendly or seem motivated to do their job. When talking to staff in person or on the phone they sound like it's an inconvenience for them. I hope their customer service improves. read more

Another great location - too bad it's two plane connections away from home plus a 1.5 hours of drive time. However, it's a sure thing I will return when I return to the area! Though this location had one of the smallest men's sections I've seen - I bought a pair of shoes, a LS BKE button down and a North Fleece Jacket I've been wanting for a long time and refused to spend the overprice the other stores sell them for! The place was clean - in plain sight - decent amount of parking - pricing was right, plus they had a sale rack too! I just hope I can fit everything into my suitcase! read more

I've been selling to this Plato's for years and they are so extremely rude every single time I'm in there. Whether it's receiving dirty looks or attitude while I'm checking out I feel very judged every time I go in there. Today I sold brand new items I have never worn and they took only one item. I asked if there was anything wrong with them or why they weren't selected and the lady opened up my bags went through the clothes and said "yea I wouldn't buy those from you either" as if they were terrible when they were brand new trending pieces of clothes. The tank top they bought from me was originally 40 dollars, never worn it just didn't fit me and they gave me $2.50 for it. Wishing there were nice and friendly employees who worked here. read more

This Plato's Closet is the best one around the KC area. The employees were extremely polite and they had a great set up. They have a great online check in system to ensure a faster experience. Also, they were done going through my big box of clothes in like 8 minutes. I was overall very pleased with my experience and would definitely recommend this Plato's Closet to anyone! This places is disappointing.. I brought in a whole bag of clothes that were strictly ALL name brand (pink,champion,nike, etc.) and another trash bag full of older clothes. I also had a newer pair of vans. They offered me $6 for 1/3 pairs of american eagle jeans. They didn't even take my shoes even though I saw the exact same pair of vans in a different color for $40. Won't go back to give clothes. read more

Name brand clothes at about 1/4 of regular price - yes please! I like the option of selling back my gently used clothes, and going in to find something new-to-me. I have found a lot of nice jeans and dresses at Plato's Closet. You can take in the items you are tired of, and get a mini-refresh to your wardrobe at a very reasonable price. Also a nice way to try out trends that you know won't last long (hello Chevrons). read more
