Sunrise Soap is a breath of fresh soap, sunshine, air, or whatever clever word you'd like to come up with. The shop is stellar. Your eyes quickly jump to the see-through glass where soap is made right there in front of you. No unknowns here. What you're buying from this little shop is the work of the two ladies right behind the glass. It's like seeing into an artisans workshop or walking into a Krispy Creme for the first time. :) I quickly asked, "What's the story behind this place?" One of the ladies, responded, "We just make all of it right here. It's what we believe in." Now how's that for a 30 second elevator pitch? Every bar is made from high quality vegetable oils. Think coconuts, olives, and palm. Keeping to this philosophy, all the soap is cold-pressed, not from a melt or pour base. Now that's good because it allows them to control EVERY SINGLE ingredient in the soap, meaning no harsh chemicals, dyes or fragrances. And like Judy said, no tallow (animal fat) either! Their process also preserves all the yummy glycerin (natural moisturizer and latherer for the skin) which mostly is taken out from supermarket soap. Terry and Judy have been making soap for over a decade and we're all pretty fortunate to be a part of it. I'm rocking a lavender bar right now in the bathroom and loving every pink and vanilla inch of it.

This fantastic boutique doesn't have a ton of merchandise, but I want all of it. Well, not the ladies clothes, as I'm not a crossdresser. Their little pet corner is small, but adorable. They had really great chew-toys, leashes, collars and dog bowls. The dog bowls would look fantastic in a modern home, and we plan on getting one of the collars for our pooch once her current one starts looking natty. Their collection of books is incredibly well curated. Lots of great cookbooks, cocktail guides and coffee table books. Also, they have a couple of kids books that certain parents would be way into, if you want your kids learning about CoCo Chanel and the like.
