I've been here a few times with my adult children. The people working here have always been very kind and helpful. We've been in a room for a few days and here for diagnostics. Each time, I feel, the level of care has been very high. It's a stressful situation when you or a loved one isn't feeling well. I may be a bit more forgiving because we've been to so many hospitals over the years. If I was needing to stay in a hospital or needing diagnostic work, I would request this place. I do live over an hour away, that's how impressed I am with them. read more

If you go to this hospital PLEASE take someone with you who can act as your advocate. Have someone in your corner. Especially if you're going to be giving birth in this hospital. I don't have my own story to share about this hospital and it's not my business to put someone else's information out here but as someone who's watched my best friend give birth at this hospital on 3 separate occasions, please please please be stern, be watchful and be aware of what's the right and wrong way to be treated when giving birth or just as a patient in general. They seem to forget we are REAL PEOPLE just like them and while I can understand SOME of the things they did/said, most of it was completely uncalled for as well as morally and ethically wrong and ILLEGAL!!!!! read more

After surgery, I was admitted to the 5th floor for an overnight stay. The nurse at night didn't have alcohol swabs or flushes when giving IV meds. She used a curos cap on the port before connecting the med. The day nurse popped all my meds in a cup and couldn't tell me what they were. I had to pull out my night meds and thyroid meds as you shouldn't take Levothyroxin with food. Med reconciliation did not happen. I could not get up unassisted and walk to the bathroom and no one helped except one tech at night. I could not void due to urinary retention and they did nothing for it, not even a bladder scan. I was discharged with very little education and with my bio button still on. The hospital is in poor condition and dirty. Prior to surgery, I used the bathroom in pre-op and there was urine on the floor. read more

Can you give a 0? What a terrible experience. Go to an ER in agonizing pain, and dismissed in agonizing pain when ONE test comes back normal. I have been trying to call the hospital for AN HOUR and there is no answer to get some answers. NO ANSWER AT A HOSPITAL? UNBELIEVEABLE. And the ONE TIME it picked up to transfer me to a patient advocate, they don't answer either. You have a problem, try to call the hospital or a patient advocate and neither answer. Hillcrest Hospital South Was my first time at this ER I've only been to the ER twice my whole life both other times were through ambulance I'm not one to go to the doctor for very much but I had a fairly serious issue The intake nurse is a rude person that does not listen he thinks he knows everything that a person is going to say before they say it he has no compassion and no business being there I almost left and walked out if it wasn't for my doctor and wife I would have. This man will absolutely cause somebody to have a serious issue because they will up and leave that hospital because he's a terribly rude hateful individual that must deal with way too many drug addicts! I will not get into the details because it's rather private but basically you called me a hypochondriac and I didn't know what I was talking about and did not listen to what I told him was wrong with me! When my wife mentioned she wanted to complain about him 2 office workers came out of the back and basically ambushed her and she has a TBI. And then within 15 minutes of her saying something and talking to them they rushed me out of that hospital without even doing blood work just gave me an appointment to follow up the next day with a specialist checked my urine and released me with no idea what was wrong with me! hateful terrible place I wouldn't go here unless I was dying in an ambulance!!! Sad thing is my doctors with Hillcrest and I like him! I am 55 years old and I absolutely cannot believe what has happened to health care they absolutely no longer care about people! read more

I'm sitting in your waiting room. After fighting hand over fist to even get my surgery scheduled was a task in itself. I was advised by my Dr that his scheduler would call me! Well...Keely never did. I called her and she was out of the office. I was almost scolded when being told things happen. Trust me when I got t-boned on my Harley by a 91 yr old I didn't have that on my agenda. So to lecture me about unexpected things is a joke and honestly a complete insult. So finally after hurdles I am connected with Keely. She's short but not a total witch. Told me surgery was today surgery at 12 pm arrived at 10 am as instructed. Checked in got bracelet told to wait. Well after being in the waiting room until 11:20 I went to the check in desk to be informed my surgery isn't until 2:20. Are effing kidding me??? So from there I call the office and speak to Jessica Grace the supposed manager to Keely. Told her what's going on. Well she blames the hospital so I come back in and tell the lady at check in. She said no not us. Then they blame surgery. Told Jessica Grace don't gaslight me!!! BOTTOMLINE: The lack of customer care & respect does not exist at this place. It's the blame game literally back and forth to the point I'm not sure if I even trust them to put me under. What if somebody needed to do something but they say oh no so and so was supposed to do that. Lesson: BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE BECAUSE THESE HOSPITAL & Drs staff don't give a rats butt about you and your care. They want us for their bottom line numbers. This hospital cares so little for patients it's obvious. You would think they would try to mask it just a bit. But they don't appear to care. We have to RESPECT them but they don't have to RESPECT us! I had a great birth experience at Hillcrest south at the end of October 2023. On November 26, 2023 we took our son to the ER there. That was the same day the Hillcrest system was hacked. My son was there only a few hours. The ER staff couldn't figure out how to check an infants pulse and told us to take him to St. Francis ER next time. In March 2024 I got a large bill in the mail stating my son stayed overnight, but there were no notes on the bill. I have pictures of my son home later that day on November 26 by 4 pm. We did not stay overnight. I have called over 10 times yet Hillcrest is still refusing to rectify this situation. After 2 months of asking for an itemized bill I finally got one, which has one sentence on it. If you have ever seen an itemized bill from a nightly stay at a hospital, you know that is an absolute joke. I get calls weekly from debt collectors from a bill I was wrongfully charged for. I would urge anyone who visited Hillcrest during November-December 2023 to closely check their bills. It is absolutely terrible and unethical what is being done to patients. I have tried since March to settle this privately, and it hasn't worked. So unfortunately now I have to make my story public. read more

I received the worst most negligent care of my entire life at the Hillcrest South ER last night. I spent 7 HOURS in the waiting room as my blood pressure climbed from 152/100 to to 187/111 before being sent home with no treatment because this is a primary care issue and not an emergency. The "provider" I had the misfortune of dealing with in triage was disrespectful, uncompassionate, and outright negligent. From the time I checked in at 3 to the time I left at 10:30 my blood pressure was taken twice only and the second time was at my INSISTENCE, which is what prompted this "provider" to wield his power. I asked twice to see another provider and was refused both times. My rights as a patient were trampled on and my life put at risk. Aside from my experience, while I was there I witnessed countless people leave without ever being seen, be seen and dismissed with no help to speak of, and wait longer than I did to be seen at all. They were absolutely slammed but there is never an excuse for the treatment I got last night. Do not jeopardize your health and safety by choosing this facility if you have any choice at all. read more

I went ER, as I had passed out. The ER staff was fantastic. Care was very good in the ER. The doctor said I could leave but recommended I stay for the night. I agreed to stay for observation. After being in the hospital 7 hours I was finally moved to a room. and asked about something to eat as it had been 10 hours since I ate anything. The Doctor, who was a contractor ordered me a meal loaded with sugar, I am diabetic and the meal was absolutely disgusting. My blood sugar was the highest it has been in six months under their care. Every four hours a nurse came in to draw more blood. I felt that test were been done just add to the bill. I had no contact with the doctor since being admitted. At 10 A.M. the next day I had enough and said I wanted to go home. I asked for water at 10:30 and it was finally delivered at 1:30. The nurses tried very hard but they were over loaded with the number of patients they had to take care of. The food was not fit any living thing. The doctor had no communication at all. a very bad experience that I would not recommend anyone to experience read more

I gave birth here in June 2024. Baby Girl Gray. My baby was in NICU for a little under 72 hours. On night two, a nurse ripped the IV out of my newborn's head because she grabbed my baby from me TOO rough and quickly (this was completely unnecessary - I was simply shifting to breastfeed and there were no alarms going off for any of the infants. I remember being concerned by the grab alone, because my baby started crying. The nurse kept a still face, was just silent and seemed almost emotionless. Then after getting my baby back, I was the one who noticed the needle. She didn't even notice - I did when blood was dripping from my perfect baby girl's head. It was overwhelming. She still barely even cared! I wish I was overreacting. She cleaned the wound and said she's address it with the head nurse at rounds. NOT EVEN A SORRY, MY BAD, nothing. Thank the heavens the charge nurse at rounds said it didn't need to go back in. Had my little girl had to be double-poked because of her recklessness and complete disregard of the wires attached to her, mama bear in me would've caused a scene. This same nurse (younger, thin, dark hair, bubbly at first then suddenly wasn't), was very harsh to be around and I could never understand why - there was almost a shift, because when I met her, super nice, but after a couple hours and I wasn't ready to leave baby, immediate shift. Then the IV incident occurred. I never bothered anyone. My baby was a "dream" baby, meaning she just never really needed anything. I breastfed, I pumped, I fed her the formula they required. I changed her diapers, I did all the things. I ended up staying ALL night in the NICU while this nurse was on - just holding my baby, despite complete exhaustion and desperately trying to not nod off, skipped meals myself, because I was terrified of her handling my newborn again unsupervised. I cried to my hubby and everything (over text - he was home with our three older children). I finally got rest at rounds when I knew she was leaving. I heard them "burping" a preemie WAY too roughly - this baby was also quite fussy and negative comments were constantly made about him and his condition. When dad came to check on him, it was just "he's fine." I wanted to vomit. Please stay away from this hospital. It's been over a year since my delivery and I'm still dealing with the anxiety from it all. This baby was my fourth, and my first time experiencing PPA, and I absolutely believe part of it stems from mine and my baby's experience in this NICU. At the very least, if you deliver here, STAY with your baby. Only one L&D nurse was very off-putting, I wish I remembered names (she stayed with me immediately after my baby was taken to NICU and was charting if that helps anything at all) but the rest were very kind. Just tread carefully. Protect your babies. read more

GO ANYWHERE ELSE if possible. Sat in the ER waiting room watching a man have a seizure for 2 entire minutes before finding any staff to assist. When they finally assisted, they acted annoyed and walked at the absolute slowest pace until they realized the situation was as severe as everyone was stressing the whole time. They are quick to release patients before they are ready. The communication is terrible between staff, physicians, and patients.

The very worst! This app won't let you give no stars. They claim to have COVID screening but it is non-existent. Safety protocols are superficial and useless. Nurses are hateful and they allow unvaccinated unscreened visitors with high risk patients. I cannot stress enough to Stay away, stay away, this place isn't safe to even walk into. There is a reason why they had refrigerated trucks lined up outside to hold the dead bodies. Also, they don't require nurses and staff to be vaccinated. If you don't have COVID when you get there, maybe they can give it to you. I called 4 times to express concerns and never got a call back. God help the patients there! read more

wish I could give 0 stars to their billing department. They are completely and totally HEARTLESS! They give you 2 options. Pay in full or pay the entire amount broken down in 9 month installments. Miss any money on the payment and it will go to collections. They have no option to work with you AT ALL! NONE! I am completely blown away at the heartlessness of this policy. Way to ruin people's lives and credit. I would rather die than ever go back to this hospital EVER again. This hospital is seriously under staffed. And the staff attending patients has a definite lack of care. I know senior patients have thin skin but 8 skin tears that's just not giving a darn. That also use the title case manager very casually. When you can't gain any information. You are referred to there case manager that will tell you nothing. So first when I walked in the lady behind the check in was on her phone while I stood there for about 5 minutes then she got off her phone like I was a inconvenience. When we finally got called to the back it took them almost 6 hours time to get my X-rays and result. First they wanted to take the wrong X-rays. They were going to do my head and chest was it was supposed to be a stomach X-ray. Thank goodness we caught that and questioned them. Service was horrible. I asked for a water and got told not until after the X-rays well 5.3 hours later nothing to drink and no bathroom allowed finally I just got up and went. I was now dehydrated hungry and aggravated. Just the worst service ever in any hospital glad they don't get paid by productivity. read more

I write this on March 26th , had a massive heart attack Jan, 23rd 2024. Finally called me today for cardiac rehab, the call was from Durant Oklahoma, live one and half hours north of Tulsa. I had to have an emergency second stint two weeks after the Jan 23rd heart attack. Waited in an absolutely filthy room until the heart Dr. could preform procedure. The peeling paint not to bad, but the blood and other fluid stains on the ceiling were disgusting, Had the procedure then waited in the recovery for a room for over 7 hours then the non English speaking doctor showed and explained they had lost me. On top of all that I told them 5 times that they need to bill the VA, they went so far as to send a financial responsibility person in to see me during my first stay, gave them the VA authorization etc and I still get billed. I finally called the VA and I am sure they will get them squared away. Oh on the second stent I checked my self out after waiting for a room with zero food or drink for over 7 hours in recovery did I mention that when I was wheeled in on a gurney everyone I observed was head down on a smart phone, that certainly inspires confidence.. read more

Wow, if I had read these reviews I wouldn't have let my husband have surgery here. We were given an 8 am check in time and arrived 10 minutes early. Pre-op room was 55 degrees where we sat for 4.5 hours waiting for surgery. At 12:50 they came in and said 'sorry about this but we need your room...we are going to put you in the hall until surgery.' I guess my death stare had the orderly stammering 'but only for 5 minutes.' I received the notice that he was going into surgery 40 minutes later. So not happy with this situation. I went home after he cleared surgery to feed our dogs and get something to eat, keeping in mind neither of us had food or water this entire time. I got back to the hospital around 5:30 pm and they had given my husband a medication that left him EXTREMELY agitated. Dr. Gisell Quroz (sp?) was in there asking my husband questions about his health history. I had to answer for him bc he was so agitated that he was unable to. When I reached the point of exasperation and said 'yes...he has 3 of them' she ruffled her feathers and said 'I'm the Dr...I am asking the questions now.' IDC if you are a Dr. it doesn't make you better than anyone else and in my opinion asking all of those questions repeatedly AND after his surgery was completely redundant. She should have been giving more care to his current state. They put his IV in the lower part of his hand giving phlebotomists no place to draw blood. When his results came back with potassium so high he was in stroke area they panicked...until they realized they were running potassium in his IV and they had been drawing the blood samples ABOVE THE IV GIVING THEM FALSE READINGS. Total incompetence. Our experience with the staff wasn't exactly stellar either. They were loud communicating with each other about birthday cards and their private lives when their focus should have been on the patients. The care giver for my husband was chastised by the nurse for not doing the many tasks they were supposed to. My husband will be facing another surgery in the next few months replacing his other shoulder but I can guarantee it won't be through this Doctor or this Hospital. read more

This is my second trip, everyone from the Position, nurses, technicians we're all very professional and first class. They efficiently diagnosed tested confirmed and related the issue to be in an understanding manner and even recommended to follow up will say another physician specialist. I don't understand some of the reviews that I see on here because this was a five star event for myself I would always highly recommend Hillcrest sales I've had nothing but professional treatment and everyone was pleasant knowledgeable and helpful has solved any and all issues. read more

As a healthcare worker I was very disappointed in the care of my nana. She was not offered a shower for two days. When I got there I washed her hair and gave her a bed bath myself. While cleaning her there was still stool on her from a previous accident that she had and she also had a stage 1 bed sore that no one had addressed. Clearly the staff here does not overlook there patients at admission very well at all. I changed her bedding and dressed her wound myself. There was also several times the staff claimed to have taken her to the bathroom but didn't which shows why my nana had so many accidents leading to the furthering of her skin breakdown. When our nana told us her requests for the bathroom were ignored the staff tried to portray her as not being all there mentally when she is. We are very angry and disappointed. Despite her asking them to call me with information, and my own attempts to call them, I got NO information even after 6 hours. Where do I start.... The worst hospital in the area. I'll never be going back under any circumstances. In May of this year I was quickly admitted. Only to get sent home 2 days later. Only to get readmitted 4 days later. Stayed that time for 4 days. Multiple things were found to be wrong. Now this is the end of October and my arm is still very bluish blackish and brownish. A 3rd failed iv. I begged for a midline only to get denied and now all the colors are a blown iv of iron. Why does one have to beg so hard for something. This doesn't even deserve 1 star. Billing is a nightmare. The hospital grievance is a nightmare and risk management is also a nightmare. I'd rather be sick and lose all my blood than have to deal with this place again read more

This is a first rate Hospital with amazing staff. My child was born here and is now a teenager. This review has been a long time coming and well deserved. My family physician Dr. Joseph Salami practiced here and was one of the only Doctors who made house visits when my family needed him. My husband was recently a patient there and was treated horribly by the nurses and doctors. He couldn't get out of bed to get to the restroom but couldn't get any response from the nursing staff resulting in him having several bowel movements and numerous times he wet the bed. He was there two and a half days and received no food. He checked himself out over the doctor's objection and the doctor would not give him prescriptions for pain and antibiotics. He will not go back and I would discourage anyone else from going there. read more

Never in your life ever go to this hospital. The staff was very nice at the desk but the doctors absolutely incompetent. I was misdiagnosed for what turned out to be an easy diagnosis (anal fissure not hemorrhoid - apparently the pain scale is the easy identifier) resulting in less than a 1 minute visual inspection, 45 minute thereafter (until I finally told someone I was going to leave because they provided me no paperwork), and a $500 prescription for a topical ointment no strong than Preparation H. ER bill was in excess of $2K, around $600 after my insurance and these SOBs have the gall to try and charge me for a Physicians Assistant on top of it at $774.00 ($83 on my end). This hospital is only about getting money, customer service is a joke (they'll try to cut you off when you call them on their BS), and will soon be in small claims court to explain themselves in front a judge for such an outrageous amount to get it wrong. STAY AWAY!! Got to St. Johns, Bailey's, or even a walk in clinic (at least their charge is onlyl $100 if they get it wrong)! read more
