People there are amazing but there process is way outdated. All I needed was an x ray. You are asked to get there 15 min early. So you check in and wait..... they grab you and bring you upstairs where you wait. You then fill out paperwork that you have already done a hand full of times and then wait. They bring you back to meet with a check in person you again give them the same info over and over. They bring you back to the waiting room where you wait. You finally get called back for the xray. That is such a waste its 2025 people.

Second time having surgery here and I'll happily give it 5 STARS again. This is the best place in Tulsa to have surgery. They're so caring, friendly and supportive. With crazy weather coming in the dr called last night and gave us his cell # in case we had problems getting here due to snow and ice. Very nice waiting areas and I love that they give you pagers so you know when your person is out of surgery. Also the snack area is a nice touch.

    Just checked in for surgery.

I had a facelift and eyelid trimming at this hospital. Dr Paulsen does most of his surgery in his office but uses this hospital for his higher risk patients. Since plastic surgery is optional, I don't think he takes actual high risk patients. He did my procedures at the hospital because I'm older than his average patient, my procedures required a long time under anesthesia, and I have high blood pressure, and I had to get my blood pressure under control before the surgery or it would have had to be postponed. I was pleased with the hospital my doctor chose. The medical staff was compassionate. I especially liked the kind nurse who put my IV in. She was painless. The hospital is located in the complex where City of Faith used to be. I think it is a faith based hospital. I felt like I was in good hands.

A sweet follow up letter from my discharge nurse

I want to compliment RN Issac and KiKi, what ever she is. This was HB 8, corridor I believe. Now, a P.A. is over an RN. Issac explained to me that it varies state to state and even hospital to hospital. they were busy as usual and parked my emergency cart against the wall in HB 8. For the time I was there I saw and heard a lot. I was a bloody mess but no one seemed to care. no blankets offered until Kiki came along and that was nearly dismissal time. But besides all that I want to give St John a massage. Cologne. When I was there shortly ago an ER nurse walked me to the bathroom. I nearly gagged she smelled so offensive, I wondered how her coworkers could take it. like a realllly strong deodorant is all I can say. Here in HB there a hefty "guard" who'd stroll through wafting whatever he was wearing. sick/ wounded people should not be subjected to these conditions. It's a medical facility, not a NY cab, no offense, not all cabbies.

We understand that doctors, surgeons, and nurses are busy, but communication with a patient's family should not be treated as an afterthought, especially when the patient has hepatic encephalopathy, a condition that can make it difficult to accurately remember or relay medical information. Every morning, doctors would evaluate my mother and explain her treatment plan to her, but our family was almost never contacted afterward. We were expected to get important medical updates from someone who was not always capable of communicating them accurately. One example was when my mother's hematoma was drained. None of us knew the procedure had even been scheduled until we arrived at the hospital and found her already being prepared. As the people listed on her chart to receive medical information, we should not have been finding out about major procedures at the last minute. Trying to get updates ourselves was just as frustrating. We would call the nurses' station asking to speak with a nurse, only to be told they were too busy and would call us back, or we would sit on hold until the call disconnected. Most of the time, we never received the promised callback. This review is not meant to criticize the staff who worked hard to care for my mother. It is about a communication system that repeatedly failed our family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Families deserve timely updates, returned phone calls, and communication that recognizes when a patient is unable to reliably relay important medical information. I sincerely hope Saint Francis improves its communication with authorized family members so other families do not have the same experience.

They told him that he would pass the stone. The next day he was worse than ever. His physician told us to take him back to the emergency room. We called in advance, and the wait was over 6 hours. I called OSU hospital, and they said that the wait was 1-1/2 hours, but if he was really bad, they would put him in the front of the line. So we took him to OSU...after tests, they determined that he had kidney infections! The hospital was full, so they made a very comfortable room in the emergency room. His canal between his kidneys and bladder were narrowed, so they had to perform an emergency surgery to put in a stent. After two days, he's like a new man. OSU saved his life. In Tulsa, the default hospitals are St. Francis (where my mother worked for years) and St. Johns. I'm sold on OSU.

I go ONLY when in extreme situations, where there is no possible way to go somewhere else. They have misdiagnosed and mismanaged my son-in-laws diabetes. A sister of mine had life threatening illnesses and she was not allowed to speak to a doctor. When she addressed her concerns about a certain medication (for her water retention) that they were not giving her, she was told for over 24 hours, by the same nurse, that she didn't have time to ask the doctor yet. Also, this woman was handed medication in a cup and told to wait an hour before she takes it. She was also told to do her own anal catheter and handed KY jelly and the catheter. These are just a few examples of the extreme lack of care and compassion, plus lack of medical integrity that runs rampant through this place. I have also been personally mistreated as well as my mentally handicapped daughter (who was also misdiagnosed and ended up hospitalized elsewhere). This is by far the worst excuse of a hospital I have ever come across and I have a daughter who had so many medical issues, she had 12 doctors before she was a year old. I have been to my far share of medical facilities and never felt compelled to write a negative review.
