I just started juicing and this was my first location at buying fresh ingredients. I may have overdone it as I purchased about $100 in fruits and vegetables. Let's say I still have bottles in my freezer. They have a very nice selection of apples and they even provide free samples of Cider which I made myself when I got home with varied varieties of apples. Thanks Hillcrest Orchard. We visited this lo diy place because we had a coupon for a free 1/2 gallon of cider. I'm so glad because I don't think we would have known about it otherwise. I love all things apple, so this was a little slice of heaven. When you walk in, you are greeted by the glorious smell of apples. They have many varieties available for sale, everything from individual apples to giant bushels. In addition to the apples themselves, they sell freshly pressed cider (they were pressing and bottling it while we were where there). They also had cider slushies and hot spiced cider available for purchase by the cup. And lots of sweet treats individually packaged. My husband got some mini buckeyes and I got some dried apples. All of the staff was extremely friendly and prices were great. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area! read more

Do yourself a favor. Drive another mile beyond the restaurants of Walnut Creek, Ohio and find Hillcrest Orchard. If you're lucky, the friendly dog from the house will greet you upon your arrival. If you're really lucky you will walk in and head right to the large apple bushel room. When you walk into the store. Slow down. Stop walking. Take in a deep breath. You smell something that smells so darn good - it's initially believed to be super-fresh produce but take a few steps in and you will confirm the source of the amazing aroma. Dozens of apple varieties lined up in bushel baskets and smaller bags ready to go as well fill the air with the intoxicating smell of fresh apples. It is also a beautiful site, but I'm a long-time apple lover so I may not be objective. The staff is fabulously friendly and encourages you to try an apple to decide which varieties to purchase. Location: 2474 Township Road 444; Walnut Creek, Ohio Hours: Monday - Saturday; 8am - 5pm I picked up a large bag of 'evercrisp' apples and some "ladyfinger" popping corn kernels. My wife and I go there for the mainly for the apples because it is such a great deal. Nice fresh produce.

We drove up to the front entrance & as we exited our cars (my bff & her husband drove separately), a friendly dog named Odie greeted us. We went inside to smell the delicious scent of apples & there's even a complimentary apple if you want one. You must get the apple cider slushy-so good! We bought apple cider to take home because you know it's as fresh as it's going to get here (unlike the grocery store). The view from the back porch of the market is wonderful & there are tables out there for when the weather is nice. read more

We visited Walnut Creek today and stopped by this fun store. The front display is decorated perfectly for fall and had all shapes, sizes and colors of pumpkins and gourds. My daughter loves flowers and they have a wonderful selection of Mums they were 2 for 12$ they had yellows and purples. If you like to decorate for the fall they have hay bales for sale out front. As you enter the building it is apples galore, from Gala to Gold Rush and many in between. They sell apples by the pound, by the half peck, by the peck and by the bushel. As I was in awe with all the apples displayed, I looked over to the left and I saw the Amish men and women working around this machine that was cleaning and sorting the apples. It was awesome watching them work together. My daughter says they have Facebook and they posted 13 hours ago so it is updated. Also I didn't mention they sale local grown vegetables and fruit. One of their specialties is Apple cider and they give you a free sample at the back of the store. They sale it from a single 8oz serving to gallons. Quick tip, you can freeze them, but you will have to take a little cider out so it won't burst. We brought home a gallon and it's half gone! Delicious read more

An amazing addition to any trip to the area the orchard is one of my families favorite stops and not just because of the super friendly and lovable farm dog. The store has a truly incredible selection of apples so that no matter you needs, wether baking or eating tart or sweet you will find what your looking for. Their other produce is also fresh and appealing and in the fall their pumpkin and gourd selection is varied and incredible. You can buy prepicked apples by type in different sizes or if your in the right time you can buy a bag to fill up and pick your own. The apple cider we buy from here is also some of the best we've ever had and we really like cider so that's saying something. Definitely spend the time to visit. read more

Sweet Amish market and apple orchard set in the hilly countryside with a beautiful overlook. All kinds of fresh veggies and other Amish goods. Their fall game is on point with pick-your-own apples, tons of pumpkins and gourds, apple cider slushees, and freshly made kettle corn. Plus lots of other of Amish goods (try the homemade caramels!). We frequent Amish country, but had never been to Hillcrest. We'll def be back! read more

It's always a treat to stop here in the Fall to buy apples, pumpkins, cider, and whatever else looks good on a whim. Unfortunately Hillcrest does not allow you to pick your own apples. They have them pre-sorted by type. You can get a small amount or buy upwards of bushels and pecks. Great selection of all types of apples and they have a large chart overhead that rates all the apples on eating, baking, cooking, etc. They used to give you those charts...not sure what happened to them but I have mine in a personal cookbook because it's such a great reference. The cider is a must-buy. Sample it right there on the premises and smile from ear to ear! read more

I went winter squash crazy here everything was so well priced. So many different kinds of vegetables I bought burgundy sweet potatoes can't wait to try them. I have never like apple cider but have been converted at Hillcrest Orchards you can watch them bottle the cider right there in the store and it is apples no chemicals and taste sooooo good. read more
