This place use to be so amazing. We stopped in and some of the pricing is definitely price gouging... $4 for one single Oreo. $16 now and smaller bags of popcorn than before. We walked in and I was so excited, it had been a while since I had been into the store, everyone knows this place is my favorite and has sent me things as gifts. I was so excited to stop here! Highly recommended by the Desk Clerk and on the internet...when I opened the door the aroma of chocolate was AMAZING!!! There was an area where you can watch the ladies make candy. It's called the viewing area which was interesting, not a real tour per say which would have been nice. The entire store was ready for Christmas which was really nice. I enjoyed the decorations as much as the candy. I bought daddy a chocolate cat (Beckley his black cat at home) and myself a few pieces of Dark Chocolate...very good!!! I just wanted to add a review for the Coblentz Chocolate Company. I don't live in the area where they are located, but learned about them googling best chocolate companies in the U.S. I have been ordering from their website a few years now and will say the chocolates are delicious. I always get the signature selection and LOVE the variety. My favorites are dark chocolate salted caramels, pecan snappers and the English toffee. Their peanut butter cups are also good and creamy. The chocolate is always smooth, shiny, fresh and reasonably priced. My deliveries are always prompt and intact all year round. Their chocolates make great gifts. Boy oh boy this feels like a wonderland. Theres so much chocolate and candy here to choose from. There's even an adorable little house in there for children to play in, even if you're an adult playing in there I wouldn't judge you. Everyone in there was so nice. This is buy far my favorite chocolate place when visiting Ohio. So many amazing things it's hard to pick. They have sugar free candies for me and not just a couple things a nice variety. On my last visit I needed to send a care package to my family that made this trip to Ohio possible. Without them it would not have happened. A must go to chocolate shop if you are in the area. They have a large assortment of chocolates in the case and a vareity of sweets throughout the store. They offer pre-wrapped gift boxes of chocolates. I got a small one for my mom and was surprised to find caramels and peanut butter chocolates in there! Those are the best flavors! Usually gift boxes like that have some of the least popular flavors in them. The chocolate is delicious. It has a great texture and flavor. We also got the candied orange peels, YUM! Those were gone that day. We sampled candies from the counter, a chocolate bar, some candied almonds. Everything we bought was amazing. I ordered something online, Goblentz was the cheapest option for assorted chocolates, shipping from Ohio to CA was still cheaper than anything else. I thought I was just getting a good deal, but once they got here they were the best chocolates I've ever had. I wish there was a guide like other assorted chocolates so I could see what I'm eating though. After trying them I sent some to family on the east coast, they got there surprisingly quickly. The best of the entire shop was the Snappers! A twist on the name turtles given to caramels with nuts and chocolate. The Macadamia snapper was incredible and took two of us to eat. The pecan and cashew snapper were also excellent. They are the best I have ever had and I have tasted the Sees turtles as well. read more

This store has a lot of gourmet chocolate to choose from. We scooped out 1/2 pound of chocolate cashews & chocolate macadamias & they were delicious. Some of the chocolates can be very pricey which is why we chose the serve yourself option (it was less expensive). The Buckeyes looked very good but I got some for Christmas so I passed on them. I enjoyed watching the employees making some of the chocolate treats in the back of the shop. read more

Wow, I hate to admit it but I have fancied myself a true see's candy snob when it comes to good chocolate been enjoying See's for over 50 yrs.. So Yesterday 12/19/16 my son comes home with this huge 5 pound box of chocolate and I asked him what was that? Then he says a vendor gave it to him at work as a Christmas gift, I said that was so nice of them. To be honest my first thought to myself was this: OMG, not another box of cheap waxy chocolates that no one will eat. Then I thought re gift to someone who will eat anything or take to the office to share, I hate to waste something so nice. The first thing that came to my mind was oh no not Russel Stoffer's cheap candy? Well there goes the re gift ideal son rips off the plastic wrap off the box so we opened it up and it was a nice look bunch of chocolates some were very ornate. I was like okay let me eat one, I just know I am not going to enjoy this it is not See's my all time favorite candy we get once a year. I had a coconut & chocolate piece it looked like a baby Resse's but it was so good I was shocked last night I ate 3 pieces gave the family some and woke up this morning and had another piece, lol. I have never heard of this candy company but the insert states it is Amish made and I know the Amish people are purest so I thought it has to be good, I have learned all reviews were 5 stars and all of those people are not lying, I too think it is 5 star and wold love to go the shop in Ohio for a visit. We found this Chocolate store while driving around Amish country. This place knows what they are doing. There are so many choices of high quality chocolates, fudge, and other types of treats. Mostly everything is sold by the pound. Don't let the price per pound alarm you. You will get more than enough if you buy a whole pound. My wife and I picked out several different chocolates by the quarter pound. My absolute favorite is the cherry cordials. Oh my are they so good. We also got a half pound of raspberry chocolate fudge with which we were pretty disappointed. Something tasted off with it. I'm fact we never finished it and tossed it in the trash. That may be why it was the special of the week. Based on all the chocolates we bought and enjoyed their candy is a five. If all their fudge taste like the one we had, the fudge is a 2. But I figure it was just a bad batch or something was off. Anyway overall this is a awesome place that deserves a stop often. read more

I stopped here while in town with my hubby based on the Yelp reviews. It was busy but the line moved quickly at the counter and we were out of the door in no time. This chocolate is good! Really good! Most chocolate places back at home have a waxy texture but Coblentz is smooth and rich. We bought two each of the peanut butter smoothies, raspberry cream truffles and milk chocolate sea salt caramels. Everything was fantastic but my favorite was definitely the caramels. They also have samples out to try....which may have been my favorite part! I thought the chocolate was good - I had vanilla cream and dark chocolate truffles. The thing that surprised me was how equivalent the place is to several chocolatiers I've been to in Columbus. Whereas the cheese experience in Amish country is completely unique, I had hoped chocolate would be as well. The prices were basically 'city prices' at something like $15 a pound which I could get in a lot of places. They did have a play area which my son really liked, but we really weren't there long and not sure it would really take you too long to shop here. Overall I think three stars because the chocolate was good, price and ambience were average. We have wanted to try Coblentz the several times we have gone to Amish country and finally did. We bought orange creams in both dark and milk chocolate, plus espresso creams and maple creams. My one complaint is how faint and nondescript the flavor in the cream centers. If I didn't know what we purchased, I would have difficulty deciphering these flavors. We have a local chocolatier in Mansfield and there is a great one in Ashland as well. Both have better flavor than these. So we were a little disappointed in the chocolate. Some rather novel things in the store, however, and worth a stop. read more

The chocolates are heavenly, we picked a variety of kinds and it seemed that each one was better than the last. Normally chocolate covered marshmallows are either dry or the marshmallow is mushy and slimy but theirs were wonderful.
