Everyone I've ever met at this company has been so sweet and helpful. They really want everyone to have a good time and enjoy painting. They also provide everything you'll need to paint like the canvas, paint, apron and etc. Half way through the painting you get a break we're they provide a snack table with cheeses, fruits and wine for adults. This is a fun activity to do with friends and family. When I went with my friends & family we just joined an open class but you can actually schedule private sessions too for things like bridal parties, get togethers with friends or with a group of couples. Our class was comprised of several families and groups of friends and co-workers taking this class. An instructor shows painters what brush and paint to use one step at a time. Brushes to be used and paint colors are predetermined for the paintings chosen by the instructor. They show how to draw and paint parts of the painting one step at a time. The younger of the two instructors is a bit slower and easier to talk to and understand when she speaks with her back turned to the class. Lots of fun for friends and family, can be pricey for large groups. $120 for a family of four.

We visited to try out the Splatter Studio, which is pretty much what it sounds like: it's a studio that you can visit to make splatter paintings. We got outfitted with goggles, aprons and other protective gear, then headed into a room with lots of neon paint and a few blank canvases. The lights were turned off, the music was turned on, and were allowed to splatter and throw paint against the canvases to create our own individual paintings. It was a therapeutic -- and fun, and messy -- experience for my whole family. After we were done, we got to take home our artwork that we had created together. I don't usually like to make a mess, so splatter painting is not an activity that I usually would have sought out myself. But I'm glad that I tried it! Like I said, it was very cathartic and therapeutic. Slinging paint against a wall is a big stress reliever, believe it or not. And my kids, who are used to people telling them not to get messy and throw things, were super excited to get messy and throw things. This was a fun art activity for everyone. The owner of Young at Art, Karla, is a local art teacher, which is really neat. Along with the splatter studio, she also offers art classes and art lessons, as well as canvas painting parties. Karla is very friendly and made us feel at home in her studio during our painting session. If you're looking for a unique art activity for all ages, you need to visit Young at Art and try the splatter studio.

i've been here twice and honestly will probably never be back. the first time was very neutral, the…read morewomen working were kinda just like oh a person and left me alone. no problem with that, id rather people be neutral than anything. the selection is kinda ? large but not super diverse if that makes sense, at least for yarn. also a bit old, but i don't mind. found some nice discontinued yarn cheaper than it costs currently! the reason i probably will not be back is the last time, when i walked in whoever was at the register just gave me a look like i ruined her entire day because i exist. it just kinda put me on edge and started making the store feel cramped and like i really just needed to leave, grabbed some needles and a crochet hook i needed and when i went to pay the woman at the register just. had such an evil look on her face any time she looked at me. when i paid she made sure to hand my change back by sitting it on the counter over to the side and did the same with my items despite me reaching for them? the only thing i said to her was hi how are you when i entered. i just found that odd, any time i've done things like that as a cashier was with an unruly customer as my way of being petty. when i use these needles i just think of how i felt so uncomfortable i was literally shaking. there's literally no reason for that, it's a craft store. i get that's a common theme in craft stores but jesus christ, this is why i unfortunately purchase online mostly rather than supporting my local stores.

Everyone had fun. The instructor was easily available for questions and advise. Our mugs turned out perfect. I wish I could post a picture. Everyone who want to get your feet wet in a craft should come here for a class. I'm now encouraged to try this on my own. Thanks for giving me the courage to go on with this craft. I highly recommend THE BLANK CANVAS.
