Lovely riverwalk reachable from the heart of Hillsborough and running about 1.8 miles along the Eno River. If you're looking for an afternoon stroll or a place for a short run, this riverwalk is your spot. I recommend picking up the trail either at Gold Park or right behind Weaver Street Marketing (free marking at both locations). The trail unfortunately doesn't have mile markers but DOES have emergency markers every .1 miles. Lovely wooden bridges, at least one picnic table and some wonderful history placards runs the length of the trail. Enjoy this paved and well shaded trail throughout the year and during any trip to Hillsborough and make sure you're on the lookout for woodland creatures!

This place was really interesting and fun. So many different paths you can take. Might even luck up and see some wildlife. I really liked how there was historical information posted along the trails and also places to sit. Nice relaxing stroll with my hunny. I would definitely do it again when in the area. Oh and parking is free.

    Really cool sculpture.

What a great place just 20 min. from the Triangle! I came out here last weekend to walk the dog and I loved it. We started at Gold Park where the dog got to play in the dog park and then walked down the Riverwalk. I was impressed with how well the trails were maintained and enjoyed learning more about the history of the area. Definitely check out the outdoor sculpture near the downtown entrance. After our walk we filled up at Hillsborough BBQ and Mystery Brewing (both dog friendly) right around the corner from the Gold's Park entrance.

The woman on the phone started asking a series of questions about "paperwork," who I worked for, and whether I was a mechanic shop instead of simply answering a basic pricing inquiry. A few minutes later, my father called and asked to speak with a manager. Despite previously being told that a price could be given with the serial number, the manager spoke very quickly, in a confusing and roundabout manner, and continued treating my father like he was doing something wrong simply for asking about pricing. At most other scrap yards or catalytic converter buyers, you can provide the serial number or send photos by text or email and receive a general price estimate. That's standard practice in the industry. Instead, we were essentially told we would need to drive all the way there just to inquire about value, only to be casually told it might be worth around $100. This is not how professional businesses treat potential customers. The communication was dismissive, unhelpful, and unnecessarily suspicious. I would strongly recommend other sellers call around before dealing with this company.

And once you've accomplished that, there's something even more satisfying in recycling the things in which it was packed. Cary's recycling center will take nearly everything: cardboard, books, glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, pots, pans, even furniture and yard waste, but not plastic bags. There are a few restrictions though, so check the city's website to be sure. Offloading an old computer, or any other electronics, will cost you a few dollars, but otherwise, there is no fee. As I enter the gate, a friendly employee will stop and ask what I'm dropping off, then direct me to the appropriate bins. Sometimes, late in the afternoon, it's difficult to find a spot in any of the three or so containers for cardboard boxes, but at least I know there are others making use of this resource. It may sound odd for an outdoor recycling center, but this location is kept pretty clean by both the City and the residents who drop things off which makes it even easier to keep coming back.
