My daughter was led to pray for a peer one on one after attending Sunday's service. She was pulled aside by an adult leader and was questioned about what she was doing and asked what was said in the prayer. The leader said that her prayer was hurtful and implied praying over and for people was not done at Hillside. Wow! I have tried this church and several of their women's bible studies and gratefully God led me to the church I belong. It is inclusive and welcomes prayer and encourages we pray for our community. I pray for Hillside and pray they as a church community strive toward inclusion, not division. read more

How can I even start? If you're ever in doubt of what church to go to; Hillside is the right fit. Hillside does an incredible job with helping people get involved, having amazing worship services, and very sound teaching taught throughout the sermons. I love the environment that the church has and the staff and volunteers are always warm and welcoming. All of the pastors are incredible and put effort into their work. Truth be told, Jesus is moving in every aspect of this church, whether it's in Kids Ministry, Students Ministries, or Young Adults; Jesus is being preached. Volunteering here has never been a burden or regret for me since I joined. If my friend didn't invite me to Hillside back last year, I wouldn't have found my faith in Jesus. I grew up going to Hillside. I was involved in every aspect of the church. I volunteered, I sang on the worship team from grade school to high school. I stopped coming during the senior year of highschool, (a little over 6 years ago) because of some things that I didn't agree with. But with the new highschool pastor, main pastor, junior high pastor. A total reform. A change that was necessary and totally needed to bring even more life into this church. I am happy to come back and be part of the ministry Hillside is doing. Aaron McRae, Bryan, Kyle Bleeker, Andrew McKeown, these guys are fantastic. They really care and really get to know who you are. They have such amazing hearts! & they are doing so many great things for the community and the world through the mission work Hillside does! Definitely stop by and listen to one of the services.They have Saturday and Sunday services. Sunday's at 8, 9:15, and 11. I'm not sure what time Saturday nights, I believe 6:30. (Don't quote me) and one more service. They have cool gifts for first and second timers to the church!! Check it out!! read more

Was very disappointed in this personnel of this church few years ago. They respond much later with excuses and apologies than just a few days. It took weeks to have the right person contact me only to give me more excuses as to why it took so long, even if it was a time of need. Having given them a second chance this past weekend, I saw the same pretentiousness once again. They claim to care about others, and all wear masks entering, but once inside, over 50% people took them off. Not even abiding by CDC guidelines. Maybe they all should be called the "me" church because they cater to the people that line their pockets inside of standing for true values and principles. read more

We have been going here or one of my Catholic churches for 12ish years now. Although both have value they both put on a different spin. Not always good though. I leave my Catholic Mass after Holy Communion because I don't want to listen to "commercials" and unnecessary "chatter". Hillside now pushes money and "commercials" at the beginning, right after the songs. I hate it and if my honey didn't want to sit up close I'd avoid it til after the commercials. Also, as nice as the auditorium setup is, it does not feel like a church but a staged show. As nice and Christian as it is to help people in Africa or any other country, I personally believe that we have our first obligation to our immediate neighbors. Hillside does push for feeding Africans way too much for me. However, the people there are incredibly friendly and seemingly very sincere! read more

The Pastor (Dave Burns) is really great. His services are a bit more low key, and calm, but his points come across just as effectively. He gives great sermons, and really feeds the soul, and brings you closer to God. One of the best things about this Church is the awesome classes for the kids. Loving faces all around, amazingly talented singers, and a new large facility make this church very welcoming. There is also a coffee house inside with the cutest name- Holy Grounds. :) You also have the choice of sitting out in the homey living room like area to watch the sermon on the big screen while drinking your coffee & eating a cinnamon bun. We have been coming here for a little over three years now. It's a large church but it's very easy to get involved and serve. Aaron always shares a great message. I leave feeling so inspired and overjoyed by the message. The staff is great. They are so friendly and welcoming. It's a wonderful place to meet great people. We love it here. I have always loved this church and everything it has to offer. It is big, but not so big that it feels like a concert. I have played sports through this church since I was 6! I have always loved this church. They do not judge people. We are all human here. There is a coffee shop that is always open and a "fire side room" if you want to hear the message in a different setting. Saturday/Sunday school is also offered. The ministry is amazing and relatable. Past Aaron has gone through many hardships that he is open about and uses his experience to relate to people on a personal level. As for the music Harmony the lead is amazing along side everyone else. Ooh yeah and of you need prayer we have a prayer team. Come join us in church or on the app. read more

Came here for a Mary poppins play for my daughters field trip. 10/20/17 (Homeschool) and this church was very nice! Nursing station in the bathrooms. Very clean not a single piece of trash on the floor or parking lots. The play was amazing!!!! The kids that played in it so talented. If you have a chance to see it I highly recommend. The facility was so nice and big I would like to see what one of their church services is like. read more

Hillside has been my home church for 7 years and I've had the privilege of serving as one of the worship leaders and the creator/director of the Hillside Arts Academy. This church is all about reaching people out of the "norm" of typical outreach. Through sports and arts (and many other avenues), they provide a unique presence in the community. The people of Hillside - they are THE BEST! Once you meet, connect, and do life with them - they carry you, love on you, pray for you and live out Christ's call of grace and love. I was invited to Hillside in November 1999. It took one visit for me to know that this is where God wanted me to be. The music is wonderful!!! Harmony gives me chills whenever she sings! Aaron has a gift! He explains things in a way that everyone can understand and with a sense of humor. The programs they have for kids are awesome! We have attended Hillside for 11 years. The new Pastor Aaron is Awesome!! Although we were sad when we heard the news of Pastor Dave leaving...we are so excited with Aaron's energy. We know that God is going to do great things through him. The children's ministries are great. My 6 and 16 year old love it here. Heart to Heart (a woman's study)is a great way to connected. My family and I have been attending this church for about 20 years now, and from my experience, you get out of a church about as much as you put into it. In any large church, you have to take the initiative and join a small group, attend some of the activities, and get involved (help out!). In the small group setting is where you'll make the more "intimate" contact with other members, and develop those long term relationships with fellow believer's that we all need. Our Senior Pastor, Aaron McRae, is a WONDERFUL and inspiring teacher, our amazing Worship Team helps connect you even closer with the Holy Spirit as you join in singing your praises to the LORD, and the Prayer Team is available after every service to pray with you if you feel so led! I attended Hillside all through my child and young adult life. I left briefly when I attended college but returned after I had my first child. The youth programs are amazing. I love this church. My family and I have been attending this church for years and it has only gotten better. Pastor Aaron is amazing. You can follow his teachings very easily and it is truly enjoyable to listen to him speak. The worship band is one of a kind. The music is amazing. The children's ministry is also amazing. My kids love going to the children's classes. The staff is amazing. On a side note they have a full coffee cafe with fresh pastries which is also very helpful when trying to get the family fed before going to church. I look forward to church every weekend. My husband and I used to go to Greg Laurie's church in riverside. We really enjoyed going there but the drive got to be to much. After searching and trying many different churches we came to hill side. Last year they got a new paster who is just amazing. He seems so real and isn't afraid to admit where he struggles. As well as encouraging the church to get involved in small groups. My husband and I did and it has been such a blessing. Everyone is so nice and open. I have been visiting this Church for about 5 months. The first week I was there, this young, good looking "boy" walked up and put his arm around my shoulder and patted my back as he welcomed me to the Church. He asked my name and a few other questions. I felt at home at once. Then I watched as he started preaching and I found out this was the Senior Pastor! I loved his preaching, very down to earth. I am used to attending a Church where my father in law was the Pastor or my husband was on staff. I was worried about going to a new Church where I did not know one person. As with any large Church, the best way to get to know people is to get involved. I joined a women's Bible study and met many women. Now I feel if I miss a week, I feel I miss a lot! read more

Aesthetical exterior/interior building. You are not greeted when entering. The praise/worship is conservative. Members know when to stand or sit, no spontaneity. No emotionalism. Very few, 3 at most lifted their hands during worship. Praise/Worship had a performance/concert feel. Team was professional and sounded great but no heart to worship. The sermon was giving by guest speaker. Good lecturer but not a preacher. If you're looking for a conservative church. A place to hear a good sermon and go on with your day. A place to bring your family. This is it. No dancing in the aisle. No emotional expression during worship. No Charismatic atmosphere. No operations of gifts, prophesying,speaking in tongues etc...But if you are expecting more, like what was just mentioned look elsewhere. read more

I've have attended Hillside for over ten years and the ministries here have provided incredibly fertile ground for my personal spiritual growth. My kids have grown up in the fantastic children's ministries and sports ministry and have a Christian foundation I feel confident about as they prepare to launch from the nest. Yes, this is a large church. Make sure to plug in and get connected. It's as easy as asking an usher or anyone at the information booth, "How do I get started?". The weekend services provide amazing worship music that really soothes the soul and the messages give you a lot to reflect on all week long. I've seen a lot of changes in the ten years this has been my church home; from new buildings to our new Senior Pastor, and I have to say, Hillside continues to become better equity at helping people develop their relationship with God no matter where they are on the journey.
