No one ran around the sanctuary waving banners over us while we tried to worship. The messages are excellent. The word is always practical and drawn out of the scriptures. Unfortunately, in my past I experienced a pastor who is comfortable telling lies, and that's made me a somewhat cynical person. Now when I look at a church, I really check it out, and especially check out everything about the pastor. This pastor, Greg, is a solid guy. A Christian. A man's man. Above all, someone who doesn't lie. There are 200 to 300 people attending the church. They have a full list of various kinds of small groups available AND Friday night softball! This church has become our home and I recommend it to anyone who is looking around for a new Church.

Plus mentioned during announcements or sermon , plus MacArthur study bibles everywhere.... Was a little like Johnny Mac is the fourth member of thr trinity. No communion!! I guess due to time restraints over the baptisms but heck, another 15 minutes over the service time at least for me would have been fine! It's just where I attend we practice open mic breaking of bread for an hour prior to prayer hour then a message for an hour. Very different model for service here but if you want teaching I'm sure it won't be hard to find here. They are monergistic and sesationistic which I agree are both biblical. The average age I would guess is about 37 here which is refreshing.

Brady, is one of the most outstanding ministers I have ever known, including those I have seen on TV ministries. His energy seems to be boundless and he has reenergized the membership with many youth and young families now participating. A few updates to the older reviews:…read more There are now 2 services (as the church planted a new church in Willow Glen a few years ago). Services are at 8:30am and 10:30am, with a "coffee hour" in between. If you're late, don't worry, as the first 15 minutes or so is praise singing. However, if you arrive later than 8:25 or 10:25, park on the street - don't even bother trying to get into the church parking lot! :) The church is easy to miss - there is only one auto driveway to the back parking lot, on the side away from the freeway hump. Don't be afraid to mention that you're a visitor! While this church is very warm and friendly, many of the people are quite introverted and sometimes hesitate to reach out . It's not that they're cold or clique-ish but it's not a church where people keep an eye out for visitors and pounce on them. (Big contrast to my old church!) This is a church where you do need to ask...people are always willing to answer and respond to your needs, but for some reason (introvertedness?) people seldom offer information unsolicited. One person mentioned that even though their infant cried in church, it was their 5th Sunday before someone told them there is a "crying room". So do ask, and read the bulletin - never during the sermon, of course! :) There's an information kiosk on the patio that's open between services where you can get any questions answered. We chose this church because it values youth ministry. There is a full-time High School pastor, a full-time Jr. High pastor, and a full-time Childrens Ministries pastor who coordinates an awesome Sunday School program. The one weakness I've seen is a lack of childrens/youth music. While the Jr & Sr. High have praise bands and praise singing, there's no youth or childrens choir, for example. (The church is eager for someone to volunteer to start one, though!) There is an adult choir that performs once a month during the school year. The 35 minute sermon is expository Bible teaching; and while very good, it took me 3 years to stay focused through the entire lesson! There are 3 pastors that preach/teach, and each tends to do about 6 Sundays in a row, then another takes over, usually on a different book of the Bible. One thing that impressed me is a lack of emphasis on politicized issues. You get the feeling that the pastors are very caring, compassionate people.

It is amazing!!!It looks modern inside, there are separate rooms for children's Ministry, there are rooms used for the youth Ministry or campus activities. Big congrats to all the doing-good projects that have been making waves in the local community and are continuing to do so.
