We had a wonderful stay here. It was out first stop on a whirlwind, multi-city, multi-country trip with my partner and parents. This was our first stop. We arrived ragged after the trip over the ocean. We were all able to check in when we arrived at probably around 2pm. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I had been upgraded because of my diamond status. I was SHOOK when I saw what I was upgraded to. Let me put it this way, it is the only room I've ever seen that has a double door to get in. There were two bedrooms with multiple other rooms including a lovely living area. The master bathroom was one of the biggest hotel bathrooms I have ever had with a gigantic tub and separate shower. Everything inside the hotel felt old and continued the old world theme of the narrow alleyways and cobblestone streets of Antwerp and other Belgian cities. The location is fantastic. It literally faces a square with gorgeous views of the church. It is literally a few steps away from a bunch of restaurants and bars and similarly close to many other attractions in Antwerp. Everything was within walking distance. The bed was comfy. We didn't hear anything from our room. The linens were also soft. The towels were a nice touch. I don't think we could have chosen a better hotel for our stay in Antwerp. read more

Great location (central Antwerp old town) but it's a older property that could use renovations. Reminds me of older Doubletrees in the US where doors and bathroom fixtures are outdated though functional. Had some issues with TV not getting reception most of the time for certain financial news channels. The hotel helps make up for it with excellent service, and the rooms are more spacious than normal. read more

People from all over the world Are here. Every time I come I'm very satisfied. It is not far from Diamond district. The main train station is about 10 minutes from here. Excellent location in the center of everything. Rooms are quite big for European hotels. Would definitely recommend the executive lounge with good adult beverage selections. Outdoor terrace next to the lounge is the perfect place to sip your wine. The best part however, is the hotel staff. Very attentive and helpful. Gave great advice on the city - Museum aan de Stroom (MAS) - Free rooftop panorama view of the city. The Museum is within walking distance. Parking at the next door shopping center is 18 euro/day. Adequate. On first glance, this place is decent. The lobby is open and airy, with welcoming chairs and marble floors. The friendly staff checks you in and directs you to your room, which is where the experience deteriorates. I booked an Executive King room. The elevator is small, and the doors open on the 5th floor to reveal poorly chosen carpet and overall design which probably hasn't been updated since the 1990s. The size of the room was great, with a desk, seating area, large bed, and very large bathroom with separate tub and shower. However, a closer look at the fixtures reveals age and haphazard construction. The shower knob which sits at an angle to the marble. The faucet, an ugly mixture of stainless steel and brass (don't they know never to mix silver- and gold-tone colors?), scratched after years of use. The green granite countertop clashing with the white/orange/red marble walls. It all makes for the feeling of a 4-star hotel trying to appear as a 5-star hotel, but not trying hard enough, cutting corners, and instead appearing more 3-star than 4-star. The executive lounge is fine, though there are better lounges to be found within the Hilton family (thank you, Seoul Millennium Hilton!). Choices for snacks and drinks were relatively sparse outside of breakfast or dinner hours, and it closed at 8pm on Saturday night -- too early. The nibbles that were available, though, were tasty. And breakfast was fine, with all the basics. Still, it's clean, welcoming, and the location is excellent for exploring Antwerp on foot. Overnight parking in the gorgeous car park beneath the hotel (seriously, classical music is playing), is a very reasonable 20 Euros per night when compared to other European cities. A reliable choice, with very friendly staff, but don't expect to wowed. read more

As a Hilton Diamond I have stayed at 70+ different Hiltons this year. I can honestly say this is my favorite one. The location, ammenities, service, staff, and a great Executive lounge makes my stay very comfortable. This was our second stay here, our first being about 15 months ago. The hotel maintained its great level of service. We will stay here again when our travels bring us back to Belgium. read more

A few pluses here but mostly minuses at this Hilton especially if you are here on business. 1. Location is good with easy access to the train station and exhibition center. B+ 2. Rooms are clean if a bit dated. B+ 3. WIFI is simply awful. I tried to conduct a webex session and had to abandon ship because the wifi was so slow it would not function. I sat two days later in the lobby of an IBIS hotel conducting a webex session with no issues at all. F 4. The gym is tiny with minimal equipment some of which was not functioning. There is no bathroom near the gym. F 5. Breakfast is great except I do not want a giant buffet everyday which is they serve. C- 6. The elevator has an oddly functioning key security when both elevators are working. During my stay not only were they inconvenient but one did not work. D Overall find another hotel. It is pity since the surrounding areas and the Belgium folks I met during my stay where wonderful. read more

The staff were polite, the executive lounge great and our room was huge compared to what we usually get in the US. The lobby is nice, but the hallways and rooms do need to be updated. Would stay here again. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station and the port (opposite direction though) and everything else you would need are only just a couple minutes' walk! read more

My visit at the Hilton Antwerp is mixed with several highs and lows. the combination of each leads me to this rating but I hope I can adequately explain. First of all, this hotel has its location going for it the most. If you are looking to go out and about into Antwerp is it hard to find a hotel more centrally located to everything. Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, even giving a member of our group the access code to the bathrooms 2 hours after we had checked out.....excellent! Where I think the hotel loses a few stars is in the overall quality of the establishment. Step outside the lobby and into the floors, especially into the rooms, and you will find a place that looks to remain as if it was stuck in the early 1980's. I brought my USB cord thinking I would be able to charge my phone on the business center attached to most Hilton desks, only to be greeted with connections for a dial-up phone line. For the nightly prices expected, I think such an improvement could be facilitated, but it appears no such luck through late 2014. Additionally, several spots within the room and hallway that were clearly needed paint were unattended to......completely OK for a lower priced chain, but inconsistent with what I expect from the Hilton brand in general. Overall, if you think the average evening rate is close to other hotels in the area, book the Hilton. If not, please give further research into each as (although I wish I could) I cannot fully endorse this Hilton as THE place to stay in the center of Antwerp. read more

Book a stay on the business floor. You'll enjoy a nice view from a private terrace. The restaurant has some great dishes. The only thing I don't understand is the jewelry store in the lobby. There's a far better one just 10 meters away from the entrance and the people treat you as a customer there. The shop in the lobby: they seem to be working "because they have to". read more

Although the location can't be beat, the hotel itself is a little run down. You're paying for a terrific location which in itself is worth it. The front desk is full of people that are less than nice. There was one woman who was nice but also new and still training. The cleaning staff is very nice. My room was dark but clean. No breakfasts are included and I wasn't sure if I had access to the Hilton honors members, as I am but out the front door are plenty of places to eat, including a Starbucks which worked out for breakfast. read more

This review is for Hilton Diamond members only. The hotel is excellently situated off Antwerp's main square. The city's main train station and most tourist and shopping destinations are within easy walking distance. The room I had was clean and well laid-out, although the decor was a bit dated. As a diamond member, I was given a suite on the executive level. The room included a welcome gift of a box of chocolates and a local beer. The executive lounge was stocked with a choice of hot and cold snacks in the evening along with three different beer and wine selections (but no spirits). A hot breakfast in the lounge was available in the morning, but I was also given the option of having breakfast in the restaurant, which had a much better selection. In fact, some of the breakfast items in the restaurant were amazing--excellent waffles and the best soft-boiled eggs I have ever had. The executive floor lounge had views of the Antwerp's cathedral and main square, and staff in both the lounge and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The executive lounge concierge had excellent suggestions for things to do and places to visit during our stay in Antwerp. The front desk staff also were very friendly. We were able to check out umbrellas when it rained as well as a currency converter for our U.S. cell phones and electric appliances at no extra charge. Overall, I think this is a Hilton that treats elite members very well, and if you're a Hilton Diamond member, I highly recommend it. read more

Checkin experience was exceptional. Extremely polite and helpful and providing lots of good information about the hotel and surroundings after a long journey. Very good location in the City Center. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Hotel bar is nice and spacious. They seemed a little short staffed, but it was OK. (Note, they close early when not busy during off season). Breakfast was very good with lots of options and they seemed to keep things fresh and full (a few exceptions). The lobby is very large, spacious and a nice place to hang out. The hotel is large; so going back and forth to your room can be a small hike depending on your room location. We had no problems having our very large bags held after checkout to further explore the City Center, they helped with taxis, directions, etc. Very good service all around. Room was ok. Nothing special from what I recall. I would come back for sure. read more
