Stayed here on a road trip expecting the typical Hilton level property. Unfortunately, this location fell short in a few ways. First, the pros: - The service was great! Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. - The location! Right off of I-75, it's in a convenient spot within walking distance to a couple of chain restaurants. - Our queen room suite was huge, and the beds were plush and comfortable. The cons: - The elevator makes a horrible screeching/squeaking noise. Doesn't really inspire confidence in the cleanliness and security of the property. - The pullout couch in the suite was so uncomfortable it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. There was barely any padding between the wire frame and the sheets. - The advertised breakfast is not an included buffet, but an à la carte menu. Most items are in the $11-$18 range. The main problems with the hotel seem to be due to age. Although the service is great and the lobby is lovely, the outdated rooms with old furniture and fixtures are due for an update. read more

We stopped here before continuing on our journey south. The front desk was great, she was very welcoming and ready to accommodate us immediately. Check in took about ten minutes! The hotel was extremely quiet and clean. The rooms were clean and the bed was warm and inviting. True to the Hilton theme, we enjoyed our stay throughly. It was a quick overnight stay, precisely what we needed. No complaints other than the extra local taxes added when you register, but I'm sure Hilton has no control of that. Otherwise thanks for the great hospitality, you never disappoint! read more

Thought I would treat myself after 10 hours of driving by staying at a premium motel. The reservation rate sounded reasonable over the phone and was pet friendly. The night clerk was nicely dressed and amiable. The sink was cracked which is a breeding grounds for whatever. Worst of all was that I couldn't black out the window and had trouble sleeping with the incoming light. There was no bar soap just an empty soap box. On checking out, the receptionist asked if everything was OK and I mentioned that the curtains didn't block out the light. She answered my complaint as I was a dummy as there were black out shades behind the decorative curtain. I never saw the alleged black outs and check the attached photo to see if you can notice them. To top it off when I got the bill I was charged an extra $125 for my two dogs! read more

Room #1 had bug and grass in the bed. See attached photos. After finding the bug, I packed up and went to the desk and asked for a refund so I could stay elsewhere. Was told I could contact the GM on Monday. There were no business cards, and the desk clerk didn't know the GM's name or phone number. Generally, an apathetic soul. As I could not get my money back, I elected to try a different room although they refused to move me to a different floor. Room #2 had a broken refrigerator which had been left open to drain the ice resulting in water all over the floor. At check out a different apathetic soul again suggested I call the GM the next day. 100% do NOT recommend. read more

They lost my reservation and were full at 6:00 PM. The rude front desk woman was rude and as a honkers member she did not try to locate a different place. I normally would not write a review. To start, I was charged $6.00 for two bottles of water, which I did not touch. So since I had to get a refund which cost me time, I am going to get to the real problem. I stayed in a suite and felt like I was charged about $200.00 too much. We pulled out the sofa bed which was held together with bungee cords, and because the sofa bed looked like a well used Item that had been acquired from the Goodwill, we did not use it. Next there is a very heavy table in front of the sofa which needed to be moved in order to open the sofa bed. This table also looked like another well used item from Goodwill. Do you know how there should be nylon glides on the bottom of metal legs so that the table will slide over a rug? Not on this piece of crap. Did I say it was heavy? Both elevators have doors that screech opening and closing. Think fingernails on chalkboard. Breakfast not included. Batteries in remote needed to be replaced. THERE ARE WAY BETTER OPTIONS in this area. This has the look and feel like the proprietor is a recent emigre from a third world nation. AND NOT EVEN REMOTELY ASSOCIATED WITH HILTON. read more

The room initially appeared to be fine. After turning the A/C system up and stepping out for dinner, we returned to our room to notice dozens of BUGS (flying beetles) coming out of the A/C unit. We immediately called the front deck to get a different room. The evening supervisor "Cory" was very reluctant to move us but finally did. As we entered the new room we noticed more of the same bugs coming from the A/C unit. We went back to the desk and the supervisor Cory explained, "this is the South and BUGS are normal"! We left the Hilton and went to the Home2 Suites across the parking lot. As expected, there were NO bugs to be found! FYI - The Hilton Garden Inn Dalton Manager never contacted us and the Hilton Corporate said the Inn's manager was the only one that could reimburse us. We are out $190 for that night but far better than being infested with some kind of bugs. (as normal as that my be for the south) read more

The halls had uneven carpet on the third floor. The carpet had large bumps that made rolling luggage very difficult. The room had a musty smell as if the old carpet had been wet before. The lobby looked amazing and the front desk check jn was super friendly. Except another employee came in talking about a guest complaining about needing to change her room, so we just dealt with ours since we were tired. Dalton had been our favorite place to stop on the way to Florida, guess we will just stop somewhere else next month. read more

We are staying locally because of a leak in our home. We have been here a month. We have been trying to get a suite that is joining and custodial staff showed it to me this weekend. When I asked the general manager about this room when it becomes available he denied it existed. He said he would check and call me back but didn't. Later that evening I asked to see a suite that had been reserved by the insurance company and I told the manager that this would not work and asked why he had not called me back. He told me that was the day before of this morning and then called me a liar and a slut then the told me to go F my self multiple times in the hallway. We were supposed to be here another month but are now leaving immediately. Beware $15 charge to have room service and breakfast cost $9. read more

I always use my Hilton points! But this time I am so disappointed. I get to my room late at night only find that there are nesting ladybugs in my room... multiples mating in several places. That is not that bad, but still a hazard healthwise. I switched to another room that was very clean so that made me happy although the weirdest part about it was when I did go to switch my room, the person who checked me in basically hit on me asking for my information which I found very inappropriate, especially as a single female by herself in a hotel. I wouldn't stay here again as i was so scared to be alone it made my stay 1/10 after my encounter with the bugs and the guy checking me in. read more

On 10/19/24 stayed there for approximately $170 and we returned on 11/1/2024 and was charged $390. I questioned the desk clerk and called the manager and was told the busier they are the more they charge. Being a Honors member I show my loyalty and in return I get treated like a money bag for their executives. Be aware of hidden fees. We were told when we booked the pet friendly room would be $150.00 when we arrived we were told it would be $50 more for the pet. However $25.00 would be refunded. We stayed here for one night on a long road trip. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Shower had good water pressure! Room had nice amenities like a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. Price wise they are on the higher end of hotels, older hotel, but well kept. I would prefer that the hotel included a breakfast for the price per night. We had to visit Dalton for a Pest Control conference and stayed at the Hilton. Our room was very spacious, very clean and the staff was always attentive and very friendly. The fitness room had enough to provide a good workout and even complimentary water bottles in a fridge! Penny, at the bar, was a great bartender. That woman hustled! She mixed a mean drink, served a cold beer, and somehow managed to keep up when it got really busy in there. read more

Found a bug on the headboard of the bed - inches from my head! We took it to the front desk and were told to speak to the staff in the morning. Upon checking out the next morning, we addressed the matter with the Sharon at the front desk. In a most condescending manner, we told that this bug was indigenous to the area, and it was perfectly acceptable to find them in our bed!!! Sharon offered us 3,000 in Hilton points as compensation, which we found totally unacceptable. Not only did we find a bug in our room (which was not very clean to start with), Sharon's haughty attitude toward us made us feel as though our concerns were childish and insignificant. We asked for the General Manager, Gautam Nanda, but, of course, he was unavailable at the time. Sharon provided his business card, and advised us to call him. We called Gautam, but .... big surprise ... were connected with his voicemail. A detailed message was left, but we never received a return call from him .... the G.M. of the hotel! We subsequently contacted Hilton Guest Assistance, the problem has been resolved, and we will receive a full refund. Beyond finding a bug in my bed, I'm absolutely appalled by the attitude and poor customer service we received from this Hilton property. As an Honors member and repeat customer at this hotel, we expected far better treatment. We won't be back, nor will be recommend this location. read more

We stopped here after traveling from Indy on a whim. We have an 11 month old and weren't sure how far we would make it to Florida. They had a room for us as walk ins and even knocked $20 off for us. Stayed here for two nights while I was on my business trip. The host was super nice and helpful. After checking in, he gave me the card keys and explained everything, and gave me two bottles of water. Free wifi. Free parking. They didn't offer free breakfast, but breakfast buffet from 6-10am. I didn't get breakfast because I didn't have time to eat there. Hot buffet costed $9.95 + tax, and cold buffet costed $6.50 + tax. The room was clean. There were a desk, a tv, a drawer, a closet, an iron, 5 hangers, a fridge, a microwave, bucket for ice. There was ice in the hallway and a vending machine which I didn't use. There was a shower with chair attached to the wall for disable guests. They provided tissues, shampoo, shower gel, lotion, hand soap, bath soap, mouthwash. They didn't provide toothbrush or toothpaste. The room was cleaned and stocked. They trashes were taken care of when I was outside. read more

Very comfortable bed and pillows, easy access off of the interstate and back on for traveling. I had everything I needed except my Keurig coffee maker did not work. Stayed here on a Saturday night, on the way back to Chicagoland, from Florida. Most places in town were full up due to The Special Olympics, being in the area. The whole area, and even the Red Lobster we went to, seemed to be in celebration mode. It felt good. Then we went back to the room. The only rooms left were suites, so we coughed up $200 (with tax). And while the place was new and well kept, it wasn't great. Very large (probably almost half the square footage of my humble ranch home), but short on amenities. For example, there were just two servings of cheap coffee for the coffee maker, and less than a handful of cheap thin plastic cups for water. While I'm sure they would have given us more at the desk (as they did a razor we requested), who wants to deal with that mess for a simple cup of yucky room coffee. Beds were comfortable and linens clean and smooth, but the walls were a bit thin. I could hear people murmuring in normal conversational tones next door. A bit unnerving, when trying to sleep. Since there were just three of us, the front room of the suite wasn't used much. It would have been better used with more people sharing the suite, or going back and forth between rooms (like the rest of the celebratory floor seemed to be doing all night long). They didn't have any information in the room about it (so I'm not even sure they do it all the time), but in the morning by the lobby there was a breakfast buffet setup with institutional-style mass-prepared scrambled eggs, thin bacon, some cereals, coffee, juice, that yucky coffee again, and that too-sweet yogurt only kids like. Maybe because the lobby was swarming with people, they were kind of doling the food and plates out. Handing out the paper plates (or was it cups?) to people as they came up. Odd. Maybe we were supposed to tip or something, like they were bathroom attendants? I didn't get the value add. They had a good sized exercise room and an in-door pool, which we would have loved to take advantage of but didn't have the time for. It may have swayed our overall Meh opinion of the place. Overall it didn't seem like a good value to us. Despite the newness and attractive architectural design, I think we were turned off by the stinginess and lack of care for the important details. They seem to have forgotten that enjoyment of the small things a guest can touch (meh food, rationed paper cups, cheap coffee, cheap soaps and shampoos, broken TV remotes, no breakfast mentioned in any literature, and single-bladed razors (you have to ask the desk for)) are what makes a stay memorable. The details at the points of physical contact, are what people remember best. If the shampoo had smelled of lemon verbena, the breakfast well advertised and prepared and tasty on real plates and silverware, the coffee less-than-terrible and well supplied, and the TV remote working, that would have made a big difference. We'll probably give Holiday Inn a pass on our next vacation. Other places pay attention to the important details, for a lot less money. In hospitality, it's all about the details, which help boost perceived value. read more

Midway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, this Hilton Garden Inn is just off the interstate for easy access. It is right next to a few good restaurants including a Chili's which is helpful for late arrivals. The staff was super friendly and helpful even providing customized directions and a few tips for bypassing traffic into Chattanooga - very much appreciated! While the hotel is a little older it is very clean and open, lots of light. My room was very quiet which is a priority for me. It is the nicest hotel in the grouping in Dalton and I recommend as your place of choice for this location. read more

We stayed one night after a 10 hour road trip from Michigan. Rooms were very clean, shower was spotless and there were loads of clean fluffy towels. Plenty of soap, tissue, shampoo etc. The bedding was clean and the pillows were amazing. The maid came knocking at 10 am on Sunday as we were leaving, and apologized for " bothering" us. We assured her we were on our way out, and she was very sweet. So many great perks...free parking, free Wi-Fi ( for Hilton Honors members) and free tea and coffee pods for the Keurig. Stayed in the suite, turned down the covers to discover a "lice" in my bed...Alive..took photos, notified the front desk, but didn't want to make a fuss as I had a large party of over 100 people booked. Hotel never offered offered to comp my nights stay or ever even apologized... Wifi doesn't work well at all. Aside from the "bug" eeek, all went well. WOW!!! We've paid more, & have gotten less than what this hotel gave us!! Beautiful tiled bath with standing shower, & jacuzzi... King sized bed, and a knockout sunrise!! Kitchen was clsing at 9 & we checked in at 8, so we dashed into the restaurant.. excellent burgers!! fresh & juicy. The only complaint: throw in the breakfast for free.... after coughing out $149 a night, we shouldn't have to pay for breakfaast, too. read more

The room itself was clean, updated, and spacious. My only complaint was the nonexistent internet service. I don't mind paying for a nice room especially when it's on the corporate card but when I am traveling for business internet is an absolute must. Having to login to my cell phone as a hotspot just to check my e-mail is utterly unacceptable. I really hope this is just an outage and not a routine occurrence for the property as the property would have scored 4 stars if not for the internet issue. If the problem is a frequent issue the rating will fall a star and the hotel will loose a guest. read more

I unfortunately booked this hotel through Hotwire otherwise would never have stayed at this hotel. The general manager, Gautam Nanda, treated me unbelievable rude and truly didn't care if I stayed at the hotel or not. He was unhelpful and lied to me saying they had no other nonsmoking rooms. A few minutes later the other front desk worker said they had one left. I called 1800Holudayinn and they confirmed that the hotel did in fact have a cheaper nonsmoking room than the one Gautam Nanda said they had. Gautam Nanda's attitude was unacceptable and I recommend you not to stay in this Holiday Inn. I have never been lied to or treated like this. read more

This inn is brand new, modern and comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and there are cookies waiting when guests check in. The restaurant was clean and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This Hilton didn't disappoint, but, wasn't as good as others like Greenville and Vegas. The Breakfast bar should've been free. Even smaller hotels don't have the nerve to charge for that cheezy buffet. The front desk staff was the worst ever. The check in experience was definitely snobish as I felt like I was bothering the lazy clerk which I was in no mood for after a 3 hour drive there. I called the desk to ask if there were any take out restaurants for Chinese. The clerk was very pleased with herself as she told me no and thanked me for calling. I googled chinese and had an order on the way in minutes. I called the desk to ask why they couldn't help me with this, the mgr said he had no idea since there were take out menus available at the counter. The maid service, however, was exceptional. The rooms were perfect except for the exhaust vents that don't clear out smells or steam for some time. Beds were great, everything worked and worked quietly and the hotel was clean. I'd have to give the hotel a 5 star if it wasn't for the front desk bozos. read more

Great stay, shout out the the front desk on 6/19 at 9pm. They were both helpful and nice even as a considered staying at the BIG holiday inn across the road. Glad I stayed with you all. Very clean hotel, great room, great service. Only thing that would have been nice (because it is a nicer hotel which means higher rates) is a complimentary breakfast but they just have a restaurant off the lobby where you can go to order food. Right off highway though and very convenient if you're just making a stop on a long trip. read more
