Comfy beds, pleasant staff, but room had other people's toenails stuck in the carpet. I was too tired and cold from working outside all day to raise a big fuss but the cleaning team needs to take it up a notch.

*business traveler* I checked in Sunday night and stayed in a King suite w/whirlpool tub. The room was a nice size considering the whirlpool has it's own nook. I was impressed by the TV in the whirlpool area and the gym is open 24 hours. Neutrogena bath products. My bed was really comfortable with lots of pillows. Important tips: The cafe doesn't open until 5pm. There was a wonderful complementary warm granola bar when they open. Breakfast starts at 6am. Location is within 5 minutes walking distance of Outback Steakhouse and a movie theater. It's also right off the freeway, but far back enough from the freeway that you can't hear any freeway traffic. The perfect win. There are also several other eateries nearby. The service staff is really nice and friendly!

Great hotel for business travel with all the typical amenities and style of a Hilton Garden Inn. Friendly staff, quiet locations, several restaurants around the area. Spacious rooms with microwave and fridge. Good breakfast options. Clean and neat.

I did not use the gym or pool facilities but will check them out next time I'm in town in April and update this review accordingly. The Hancock hotel room was fantastic. The room is so incredibly comfortable! The bed is luxurious (I could sleep for days), the desk is really comfortably usable, there was a very nice armchair and ottoman in my room that I actually wanted to sit down and read in. Blackout blinds combined with the like-a-cloud mattress allowed me to sleep well past my alarm, which is an uncommon occurrence for my insomnia. The shower door stuck which was alarming when I almost couldn't get out of the shower, and it drained poorly. Otherwise the room was wonderful. I wish the bathroom window was frosted so I could have natural lighting without half the MPC employees seeing my naked body, but alas, I had to draw the blinds. The Hancock is perfectly located to park your car in employee parking and walk everywhere you need to go, if you can, which is significantly preferable to the cost of Valet. The alternative is to find street parking. There is no reason to force Valet a car in a town the size of Findlay, and it's insanely expensive. I guess when the company is paying itself it makes sense to corporate, but it still hits my budget in ways I'd prefer to avoid. I can eat for an entire day on what it costs to Valet at the Hancock. Breakfast left everything to be desired. Despite there being nobody in the dining room, the one server appeared to be extremely busy and it took 15 minutes for me to get a menu. It then took another 10 for her to come back by and take my order. The hash brown potatoes I ordered were fried to dead or left in the salamander way too long, the eggs were overcooked. There just wasn't any care at all in the service or food from this restaurant - it is absolutely NOT worth the $20++ price tag.

I reluctantly checked in and was given a room on the third floor. I opened the door and was punched in the face by some nasty odor that just intensified the longer I stood in the room. The bed was uninviting, the lounge chair had gigantic stains, the shower was disgusting and the shower curtain had mold on the bottom. I spent about one minute in that room and went downstairs to return the key and demand a refund. I honestly cannot believe that this hotel is owned by Hilton Hotels. I've also stayed in the TownPlace Suites in Findlay, the sister Marriott budget that's actually got suites. This location has hotel rooms. My mini fridge is the mini-est you can get without being a 6 pack electric cooler; barely fits a standard styrofoam takeout box. This isn't an impressive location for a Fairfield, nor is it a good location. It's on the corner of a busy 5-lane highway, next to the Kroger/Walmart and surrounded by a Honda dealership. The visual clutter and distraction of the dealership decor (big, tall tinsel at the time of my visit) made it visually challenging to figure out the parking lot entry on the first approach. Getting back out to the main highway is challenging, not super straightforward; either (1) you take a left out of parking and contend with Kroger patrons (both turning in and turning out) in your attempt to turn left onto the artery street less 100 yards from the traffic light, or (2) to turn right onto the main highway you go right out of parking into what feels like an alley, behind some buildings, and try to remember to turn just after the building instead of going too far and getting trapped in that parking lot. Neither option is a good one. The run-on sentence was making a point, and it was worth it. Inside: similar to the local TownPlace, not super inviting. There's no pull through entrance. You'll need to park in a space and walk in. It's rather dark inside, an effect of both the lack of lighting and a dark blue camo looking carpet. If poor lighting is a problem for you it's probably worth looking at another hotel (I don't recall the TownPlace being dark, but it's been a couple months). The room is basic and functional. There's an iron, full size ironing board, hair dryer. Little modular closet is fine for a week. There is a standalone 2-drawer bench that can - and should - double as a luggage rack since there's not one in the room. The bed is foam and soft, so check other places for spring mattresses if you need something firm. I use a super slim pillow and one of the 4 on my king bed was suitable. They are all 4 different so there should be something for everyone. Already mentioned the fridge is the teeniest size. Microwave is comparably small. Coffee machine is tiny with lots of single use plastic trash involved, so if you actually drink coffee maybe head downstairs or to a coffee shop instead (there's a breakfast/brunch place in the building just east of Fairfield, about 50 steps away, opens at 7).

The building is older, but was recently completely remodeled and looks great. The rooms are nicely done and very clean. They are also very quiet, thanks to the obvious solid construction years ago. Granted, Findlay itself doesn't have a lot going for itself, but it does have a few hotels and some food to eat, so I was good. I don't know what this hotel used to be but it's a Sure Stay now. Prices were lots cheaper then surrounding hotels and still within the city limits and not a far drive from Main street, dinner and the expressway. The room itself was $60, which is cool and half the price of the other places in town. Pulling in, it's an older motel and looks a bit tired on the outside. I think the owners and staff here are trying to revamp it, so that's good to know. The gentleman who checked me in was super nice, helpful and even gave me an upgrade to two queen beds AND let me check in half an hour early. The room itself is has been upgraded with all new items. Very well done! New paint, bedding, paintings on the wall, larger flat screen TV, microwave and fridge, etc. I had fresh towels and let me tell you, the place was quiet! No screaming children, weirdos lingering or any questionable behaviors. I felt safe here as a single traveler, which is important. I only have two issues with my experience. First, the fridge in the room was newer, but kept making a funny sound. It got rather annoying when I was trying to sleep and when I woke up. Minor? sure. It's not the end of the world. I could've asked for a room transfer but I was already settled in and only staying one night. Secondly, the outside needs more attention and upgrades. Yes, the rooms are great, but it needs more than paint. I sense their working on it, but between the weird fridge noises and the exterior needing some attention, I docked a star. Overall, a great experience and I would be back. The place is nice, affordable and if you're on a road trip, check this place out.

That alone should've given me a clue that this was bad. Due to a family death, I had to be in Findlay during April 24-27, 2025. There was some event in Findlay, as all the normal inexpensive hotels were over-priced and over-booked. While I'd never stayed at this Red Roof Inn, I thought they had a "decent" brand name, so it would be OK for a few days. NOT the Case!! I had some questions about my stay. Because I could never connect with this hotel via telephone, I stopped by to speak with the Manager. So glad I did, because I saw drug activity in the parking lot. That said, I didn't want to stay there--my rental car would likely be broken into. When I tried to enter the front entryway, there was a homeless person sitting on its steps, so I had to walk around him. No offense to him, but I already didn't feel safe with the drug activity I'd seen at 12pm noon in the parking lot!! I waited at the front desk for almost 1.5 hours and NO Attendant whatsoever!
