I've never stayed at this hotel but I have been here a few different times. The Hancock Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Downtown Findlay. I love the atmosphere and the hotel is gorgeous. I booked a room through booking.com and had to cancel my reservation. M father died and I had to change my plans. When I called the hotel, they said I had to go through booking.com. I went through their procedures and then they requested money back from the hotel which denied it several times. We never used the room, so they just took our money. Visitor BEWARE! read more

Disclaimer: I'm an avid fan of extended stay suites where I cook my own meals and push the coffee table aside to do yoga in the living room. This is not my preference for hotels. I did not use the gym or pool facilities but will check them out next time I'm in town in April and update this review accordingly. The Hancock hotel room was fantastic. The room is so incredibly comfortable! The bed is luxurious (I could sleep for days), the desk is really comfortably usable, there was a very nice armchair and ottoman in my room that I actually wanted to sit down and read in. Blackout blinds combined with the like-a-cloud mattress allowed me to sleep well past my alarm, which is an uncommon occurrence for my insomnia. The shower door stuck which was alarming when I almost couldn't get out of the shower, and it drained poorly. Otherwise the room was wonderful. I wish the bathroom window was frosted so I could have natural lighting without half the MPC employees seeing my naked body, but alas, I had to draw the blinds. The Hancock is perfectly located to park your car in employee parking and walk everywhere you need to go, if you can, which is significantly preferable to the cost of Valet. The alternative is to find street parking. There is no reason to force Valet a car in a town the size of Findlay, and it's insanely expensive. I guess when the company is paying itself it makes sense to corporate, but it still hits my budget in ways I'd prefer to avoid. I can eat for an entire day on what it costs to Valet at the Hancock. Breakfast left everything to be desired. Despite there being nobody in the dining room, the one server appeared to be extremely busy and it took 15 minutes for me to get a menu. It then took another 10 for her to come back by and take my order. The hash brown potatoes I ordered were fried to dead or left in the salamander way too long, the eggs were overcooked. There just wasn't any care at all in the service or food from this restaurant - it is absolutely NOT worth the $20++ price tag. read more

The Hancock Hotel is hands down the finest hotel in Findlay. As reported "The five-story, full-service boutique Hancock Hotel makes use of European architecture that compliments Findlay's historic South Main Street. With 99 guestrooms, including 87 standard rooms, 11 suites and a presidential suite, the hotel also includes a "living room" lobby space, a fitness center, 7,040 square feet of meeting space and a ballroom that can hold 360 guests for events such as weddings and corporate functions. Additionally, the Hancock Hotel includes a Mancy's Steakhouse--a restaurant brand unique to Northwest Ohio." And as I understand, it was built by Marathon Petroleum so that its executives and customers would have a deluxe place to stay. Of course, the rooms are beautifully tough not lavishly appointed, spotlessly clean. The view from my room looked down upon a park and the next-door Marathon Petroleum's executive offices. The service staff is professional, top-notch, and attentive to your every need. I couldn't have been more pleased and look forward to a return stay. read more

First let me start off by saying this hotel is beautiful and really classy; staff were kind and helpful. And i enjoyed that Mancy's steakhouse is attached. I'm taking two stars off for two reasons; first, it is not apparent on the main Expedia booking page that there is ONLY valet parking, which costs $15. I figured I'd be able to park in one of the parking structures directly behind the hotel, and when I arrived had to call since I kept driving circles trying to find something labeled Hancock Hotel. I'd recommend that Hancock make that information more apparent on Expedia, as it takes some digging to find it--I finally found valet info on the Policies tab. Secondly, the room looked immaculately cleaned, however, I noticed that both our chair (cloth), and blue coverlets on the bed had white stains on them--YUCK! I suggest that some attention be paid to that ASAP. I was in room 417. read more

My family and I stayed at the Hancock Hotel last night after attending a beautiful wedding in Tiffin, OH. The hotel is located in the heart of Findlay right on S. Main Street! The valets were cool, the front desk clerks were super sweet, and the room was awesome! They even have bikes for their guest to ride around in downtown and a bada** digital valet system for their guest's convenience! I cannot recommend this place enough. I had the opportunity to stay at the Hancock for a business meeting. My room was the Van Buren suite and was absolutely wonderful! I wish I had thought to take pics when I got in the room. The bathroom was exceptional-definitely on par with the plush Disney Floridian rooms. Conference room and food was awesome too! I would highly recommend. The only negative is that you have to Valet as there is not any parking. This is an additional $15 a day. Not a big deal but worth noting. read more

Hospitality here was terrific. There was a problem with the key card when I was first checked in; the staff immediately fixed it. I needed to print a few documents for a business meeting, and they printed them for me at the front desk. Then, at night, there was a problem where the plumbing (or something) was making a howling noise; I called downstairs, and they immediately moved me to another room, no questions asked. Restaurant downstairs is divine. Amazing steak, wine...really relaxing, luxurious yet fun. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, plan on staying here every time my work takes me to Findlay! read more

This hotel is seriously gorgeous! There's a couple other hotels in the area that we were considering, however I am so glad we decided to stay here. When you first pull up, valet comes to take your car and they send you a text message with a link to be able to request your car whenever you need it, which was really convenient. It is $15/night I believe, but if you do not want to use the valet service, there were places around town you could park overnight. The front desk staff was incredible and so helpful with anything we needed! The rooms are BEAUTIFUL and stocked with anything you might need, including free pillow chocolates from a local place! We will absolutely be staying here at the Hancock again in the future, and definitely want to try the steakhouse, Mancy's, next time! You will not regret your stay here! read more

Last year I wrote a review about our experience at Mancy's bar. located in The Hancock. After staying Christmas Eve in a suite and having snacks and drinks at Mancys, I am so happy to say this was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a hotel. The hotel is as elegant as any 4-5 star hotel we've stayed at in large cities. The suite was massive, and my wife fell in love with the bathroom. Findlay should be proud to have this beautiful establishment where everything, from check-in to check-out, is top notch. After church I treated my wife/grown kids/son-in-law to snacks (xmas eve) and drinks. In my previous review, I was critical of a bartender named Jarrod. We again had Jarrod and this man was absolutely brilliant in every way! It was obviously busy during at last visit and the entire hotel was fairly new. Now, a year later, everything runs like a well-oiled machine. Jarrod was patient and very attentive despite there being a decent-sized pre-christmas crowd. The Chopped Salad w/ Petite Filet that I had was perfect. Just the right amount of dressing, and the filet was as easy to cut as butter. My wife had the Beef Tenderloin Tip Au Poivre, and she felt the same as I did about here choice! Jarred took time to help us with a Christmas picture. He was superb. We will be back, whenever we come to Findlay. There is no other hotel we can imagine staying in after this wonderful experience. read more

I reserved a king room two months in advance of my stay, and was informed upon check-in, that I was getting a queen handicap room instead. When my husband questioned this, the very haughty front desk clerk nonchalantly stated, "We overbooked." We were given two breakfast vouchers for our inconvenience, which I did use, not for myself, but for a to go order for family member, so it was of no use to me. The short dark haired hostess who waited on me was veryunprofessional and rude, and am not quite sure why she has a job in the service industry. All in all, I can tell you, I will never stay there again. I was completely unimpressed, as it's all a facade. read more

If you are looking for an upscale hotel in the heart of Northwest Ohio the Hancock Hotel is the place! Nestled in downtown Findlay, it is within steps of the Marathon Petroleum Campus and offers easy access to Dietsch's, the Marathon Performing Arts Center, Donnell Stadium, the University of Findlay and Roo-Barb. Valet parking. I had the opportunity to participate in a large conference at the hotel. The rooms are very well appointed, excellent showers and fixtures. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The conference facilities accommodated our 250 folks with ease. Food was catered by the in house restaurant, Mancy's. My favorite was the pasta. This is a gorgeous hotel with excellent customer service! I came in for a two day conference at the hotel. When I arrived, the valet were quick to get to me and give instructions on checking in to the hotel and for my bag. Check in was smooth and I received a voicemail when my room was ready. When I got to my room, my bag was already there. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and beautiful. There was an abundance of pillows on the beds. The only thing that I thought could have been a little nicer was the shower head. The water pressure was great, it just had a lot of splatter and was a bit small and not adjustable. The food we were served at the conference was fresh and delicious. The service staff were courteous and attentive. Beverages never ran out. There is a full service restaurant on site. When it was time to leave, I texted for my car and it promptly arrived. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

I did not expect a hotel of this caliber outside of a major city! The hotel is valet-only, and they utilize a cell phone text-based program to request your car within fifteen minutes. It was very simple to use and I wish more hotels used this! The hotel is decorated in a classic understated manner- think restoration hardware. Check in was a breeze, and staff were always welcoming and smiling. The room blew me away. I did not expect multiple rooms, including an office, bedroom, an area that looked like a walk in closet, and a spacious bathroom with soaking tub. The bed was huge and super comfortable. Slept well without hearing significant street traffic or any of our neighbors. Loved the CO bigelow products in the bathroom and the local mint chocolates on the bed. Highly recommend, and the Hancock will be my first voice upon my next Findlay visit. read more

The hotel itself is really nice inside. The downfalls however start once you get into your room. We were told the AC is motion sensor so if you're sleeping the room becomes 100 degrees. On top of that there is a church next door, so I HIGHLY do not recommend staying on a Saturday night. To top it off you would think a hotel where you almost pay a months rent per night would splurge on more than 1 ply toilet paper. That just put the nice cheap touch on the night. Overall nice looks for a hotel but overpriced for the stay, we definitely won't be back. We also got double charged for valet so watch the front desk people and ALWAYS check your receipts! read more

I was excited to have a hotel option that was not off I-75 or on the East side of town (my family lives on the south end). Price is comparable to most hotels and the Airbnb I've used in town. Decor is awesome. I was disappointed that it seemed fairly empty. I was also impressed with the local business support as far as amenity snacks in the room. I asked for a pack and play and there were two waiting for me. A couple of things were disappointing- the pocket door to the bathroom was a pain- keeps extra space in the bathroom but it may as well not be there at all. No tub made it hard to bathe my kiddo. I wish there was some kind of pool- but it's totally understandable why there isn't one. AND- the hotel requires you to use the valet service if you want to park on site. It's an additional $15 per day that isn't included in up front cost. All in all, it's a nice addition to the Findlay downtown. And I hope it's a trend that continues. read more

For the first time in my 55 years of traveling and staying in hundreds of hotels, our executive King room was not made up during the day. We called the front desk when we got back, but they were sorry as housekeeping had gone for the day. The hotel is very nice with a great restaurant but they couldn't make the bed and change towels? How could they miss a room. Doesn't someone check? There is no housekeeping in the evening? Clearly not the first class hotel they claim to be. read more

After booking a room directly, at check in the staff was extremely rude to us. After obtaining our credit card and giving us a key to the room, they locked us out of our hotel when we returned for the night. They wanted to run our card once again. Due to their horrible customer service, we left. We NEVER stayed that night and yet, they charged us and now after months of dispute we are having issues with our credit card and added interest. Had a great short stay here in Findlay. Super efficient friendly hotel with lots of amenities for the business traveler. The hotel is only a year old I assume having had a major renovation. It's got a really nice old world charm about it. The rooms are beautiful beds comfortable and it's quiet. I didn't try the restaurant or gym although they look very good. The hotel is in the heart of the town so I was able to walk to all meetings and local restaurants. There is a Curtesy car ( Lincoln conti black label no less)with a driver on standby to run you to local places if needed. read more

Dynamite place for a town like Findlay - this is my first time in this city, but this hotel is amazing. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The bed was a little too firm compared to what I'm used to but still very comfy! Hotel rivals the feel of much larger city feels - their restaurant is pretty good but has an amazing wine selection. My husband, daughter and myself were truly amazed by this hotel and staff. We checked in on 9/15/18 and checked out the following day. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the very friendly valet service. Than we entered the fabulous Hancock Hotel, where we were serviced by Chris, he was very friendly and polite, he made us feel like royalty, even the gentleman that was doing some housekeeping made us feel like real VIPs, sorry I don't know his name (Hispanic Gentleman). I only put his nationality so, he can get the credit that he deserves since I didn't know his name. We went out for the evening to return later to a very comfortable and restful night. The next day I order the car service to run me on a few errands, (early the next morning), I can't remember his name; however he displayed amazing customer service. He was very informative about the city as well as the hotel. My husband and I also hosted an anniversary party on 9/16/18. Omg the staff was beyond exceptional, the head hostess and the gentleman helping her were A1. Whenever we ran into a snag she was their to handle it with ease as the professional that she was. The food was out of sight, just as breathtaking as the hotel. Everything that Hancock has to offer was very Classy and Elegant. When we checked-out we had the same VIP service as we received at check-in from both Robyn and Chris. Abby did a great job, helping me coordinate the anniversary party all the way from Michigan. The only thing I regret was not remembering everyone's name that displayed over-the-top Customer Service to my family and I. I truly believe in giving credit where credit is due. My family and I will truly, be returning to The Hancock Hotel and we will, most definitely recommend you to our family and friends. read more

I grew up in Findlay and have lived away for about 20 years now. I was excited to get to stay at this beautiful hotel and really see Findlay through a new lens. The location is perfect and makes walking around the downtown area super convenient. The valet service really made coming & going incredibly easy. We had a small problem with our first room, and both Chris H. & Melinda really went out of their way to help accommodate a room change and make us feel like we were valued guests. My husband and I went to Findlay for a high school reunion. He knew of the building and wanted to surprise me. And boy was I surprised! This was the most beautiful building and the inside was just gorgeous! We got a corner room facing Main Street. I thought it would be noisy but it wasn't at all. The room(s)we're beautiful and clean. I told him that if I knew we were going to stay in such a beautiful place, I would've stayed more days than just the weekend. The price was very reasonable. If we were in a big city this would've cost us a bundle. All the employees were professional, helpful & big smiles. Chris & Robin we're very helpful. Wish I could remember everybody else's names. A beautiful new hotel with superb decor, as nice as any we've ever stayed at anywhere and we have traveled a lot. Loved the comfy beds, gorgeous bathrooms and quiet atmosphere. We had a lovely, no stress stay here when in town for a family get together. Food was really good too! The staff was always helpful getting us water and giving directions etc. I would say don't miss staying here if you get a chance. read more
