    A Side salad.

The hotel could use some updates, mainly carpet. The staff are exceptional. stayed a total of 4weeks with them and the food at the restaurant was great. They have special almost every night and make a great burger. Also bartenders make great drinks and make fun non-alcoholic drinks. My room was clean and even the stair wells were kept clean. The pool was chilly for me, the weight room had a good amount of weight. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The entry was beautiful and that's where it ended. The room was large, but dirty. Very run down and dated. Furniture was scratched. Overall from the elevator to the hallway nothing was overly nice or clean. The bed was not comfortable; overly firm. Bedding and towels felt "stiff", hard and dry like no fabric softeners were used. No usb-c charger port plug ins in lamps or stands. Stand had to physically be moved to access beside outlets. For a "Hilton" brand, I would have expected much better quality.

The rooms are old school traditional styling. There were no usb ports near the bed, but there was one in the room. Outlets to charge required me to move the nightstand to plug in. The bed was a disaster. The blanket was likely reused from previous guest and there were small blood stains on the underside. The bedsheet was flipped inside out, which makes me wonder if that is also reused. I let the manager know and he offered me free breakfast. The hotel also changed the sheets and blankets. Although it was resolved, it should not have happened. Free breakfast was also a cheap response.

We arrived without a reservation since we were going to the Chocolate World tomorrow..Faith greeted us nicely and got us a room. The room wasn't too bad. I did find a hair under the toilet seat lid, and the shower stale needs to be remodeled. The place is needed for a remodel, but with the government mandated shutdowns over the past 2 years, i can see them not doing any remodeling. But it's over and time for a face-lift. They have breakfast, but its not free with the room like the Holiday Inn..$119 for a twin queen room. I did notice some safety features like peep hole covers and rubber trim along the bottom of the door. The heater worked well, and it has a wall thermostat. A large flat-screen TV about 55" was nice. A small refrigerator and microwave but no freezer . A couple of other pros. At home, we have an $8000 Select Cimfort bed. So, sleeping on any other bed is never comfortable. We slept so well . The bed was comfortable and the pillows were just the right height. I usually sleep until 4am. I woke up at 6:30. Crazy, right?

A work colleague suggested we stay here for our business trip to Hershey, PA and he was on the mark with this one...a great place to stay! It was a great property, easy to get to most anything needed that week, and the whole stay was a positive one. First of all, it is very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. Big open lobby and sitting area, ample space to spread out in the beautifully decorated and well furnished area. It also doubles at the space for the morning breakfast as well. Next, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They made me feel very welcome from the time I came into the hotel until checkout day. Very professional and positive staff here. The room I had was great. Clean, well furnished, well maintained, and no complaints about it, the bed, bathroom, or closet space. Housekeeping did a great job each day. I was very comfortable here for my week's stay. Overall, a wonderful stay and would recommend HGI-Hershey to anyone that asks about hotels in the area.

My allergies were going nuts, and the room was pretty dusty. All corners had loads of dust.

Very dated, very loud, beds were not comfortable, AC is old school and was hot last night, for that price, I could have gotten a nice air bnb. Allergies were going insane in room, can tell carpet was not cleaned properly. Also bathroom door wouldn't close.

Stayed here for a long birthday weekend from VA. It is a…read morevery clean & small hotel with 5 floors & plenty of parking. The larger studio with 2 Queen Beds & pull out sofa is very spacious with 4 adults but can accommodate 5. There is a partitioned room /work space from the sleeping area, but no door. There are also two TVs. The other tv is located in the work space/separate sitting area with a pull out sofa, coffee table, & a pull out work table & office chair. There are numerous outlets, however some of the sockets were "loose" the plugs wouldn't stay secure in the outlet. But fortunately we remedied this by using other available outlets near the floor lamps. I was relieved when my friend & I pulled out the sofa bed, because sometimes you never know what kind of "surprise" you might find. The sofa bed was really clean & looked relatively new. My friend reported that the bed was a bit stiff but was fine. The AC unit worked like a charm! I do like the full sized shampoo/conditioner & body wash. It's very convenient. A hair dryer is provided for convenience. I do make it a point to search for hotels with a microwave & mini fridge. It's super helpful for road trips for your bottled water or beverages to keep cold & store leftovers. Water pressure was good, as well as the temperature. The only thing that was disappointing was the every other day housekeeping. Although this is mentioned in their website. Breakfast was fairly extensive, with a mixture of cold & hot items such as make your own waffles with options of bottled toppings aside from syrup, toast, bagels, yogurt, cold cereal, oatmeal, bananas, apples, oranges, jams, jellies, & three hot items that would vary on occasion of a frittata, or an omelette, and a type of sausage, either pork or turkey varying on the day. There were friendly employees tending the breakfast area with a smile, ensuring the areas stayed clean & items were replenished & for assistance if needed. Juices & milk were available. While the tea & coffee were at a separate area in the dining area. While it became busy, there was still plenty of seating & no back ups with obtaining food. Sometimes, I wonder exactly what people are looking for when it comes to "complementary" breakfast, when they refer to the breakfast as being garbage or inedible. Clearly you're not going to have eggs Benedict or avocado toast & customized smoothies. If a hotel provides numerous options that also include hot items, I get pretty excited. Haha, it's when it's a continental breakfast that consists of JUST bananas, apple or a bagel & yogurt or a thrown in granola bar is when the disappointment arrives for me. Honestly, it's a nice convenience to have breakfast included so you don't start your day off hangry or trying to figure out where you're going for breakfast. It saves time, & it essentially saves money. It definitely is close to Chocolate World, Hershey Park & a 5 minutes drive from The Hershey Story, Chocolate Avenue Grill & Au Bon Lieu! Roughly a 45 minute drive to Strasburg RR, and a 35 minute drive to Turkey Hill Experience. There is a CVS within walking distance down the block, and an Exxon a block away on the other side of the hotel. The post office across the street is an Annex, so if you need to mail something off, there is a post office near the Hershey Story Museum, behind the Starbucks area. Although places are within walking distance, the streets are not ,that lead to the restaurants. There is no sidewalk until you reach a far way down. Overall, this is a good choice for a hotel if you want to be "centrally" located to Lancaster & other activities outside Downtown Hershey. It's in an unassuming area that seems out of place, but it's convenient, clean, spacious, includes breakfast, parking is included, has a microwave & mini fridge so it ticks off all the boxes for me. Plus the staff were kind & friendly & the hotel looked fresh & beautiful. The indoor pool is small & only 4 feet deep I believe, so if a pool is a deal breaker, this might be a no go for you. Ps if you want a surface to eat on because you don't feel like dining out & you order take away, you can roll that office table between the two beds & use it as a dining table.

The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.

The rooms felt dated - particularly the bathroom, where the wallpaper was peeling and the bathtub showed its age. The overall décor could benefit from a refresh. Small touches would also make a difference; for example, swapping the chocolate bar welcome for liquid body wash instead of bar soap would feel more practical and modern. I stayed for a conference, and while the buffet food was decent, the desserts were the standout - especially the brownies, cookies, and flourless chocolate cake. Those were definitely a win. The waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids and a big highlight of the stay. That said, it would be great if both the waterpark and on-site restaurants had extended hours, especially on weekends, to better accommodate families. A few logistical frustrations stood out as well. The check-in line was extremely long, so be prepared to wait - it would be a huge improvement if they offered a virtual check-in option. Additionally, room service does not come during multi-day stays, which was disappointing. A simple refresh between days would go a long way in improving the guest experience. Overall, it's a pleasant place with family-friendly features, but it didn't quite live up to other resort experiences I've had. If your main focus is a waterpark getaway, you may want to consider Great Wolf Lodge as a comparison.

If you are searching through Hershey for a traveler motel that won't fill you with despair and disgust you've found it. For the price, this is a five star hotel. Reader, if you are looking for a better experience at this price point, you are not going to find it in any popular town in the U.S. I've spent the last few years of my career checking many of them. I have to assume the poor reviews predate a renovation and/or management change, or that some people's expectations for a ~$100 motel in a tourist town are way too high. I have stayed in a lot of travel motels like this for work, and there are cheap bad hotels and cheap good hotels - I would say this is a good one. The beds were well made and clean, the mattresses pass the flip test, and the bathroom was very clean as well. The carpets in the room were properly vacuumed. No dust bunnies in the corners. There is some highway traffic noise beginning around 6am, but this motel is next to the highway. If you're staying anywhere like this you should bring earplugs anyway. The shower is hot and the water pressure is strong. Lots of these budget places have stopped cleaning rooms nightly during a stay, but this one does. The tub in my room could use to be refinished. I don't think anything else here is in real need of a renovation. And, the people working here are really, genuinely nice. I did not expect the doorman at midnight on a weekday to be so friendly as I checked in and that is really appreciated after a long day of travel. Thanks a lot dude, I literally drafted this review the night I came in for that. Everyone I saw here from the desk staff to the housekeepers were so friendly. Really, thanks so much.
