I rarely leave a bad hotel review, but what happened at 12:30 a.m. was unacceptable. Guests arrived in the room next to mine talking loudly, laughing, and then started what sounded like a party with loud music. I called the front desk by dialing 0 and spoke with a gentleman who told me he would come upstairs and address it. Ten minutes later, nothing had changed. The party and loud music were still going. I dialed 0 again--this time, no one answered. I then called the hotel from my cell phone. A woman answered and told me they were checking in a customer and would come upstairs afterward. I explained that I had already called ten minutes earlier and had been told someone was coming up. Her response was essentially the same: they were checking in a customer and would get to it. Apparently, the guests who were already checked in--and trying to sleep at 12:30 in the morning--were a lower priority. I finally said that perhaps I should simply call the police. She relayed that to the gentleman standing with her, and suddenly he was able to come upstairs. A hotel cannot control whether inconsiderate guests decide to throw a party in the middle of the night. It absolutely CAN control how its staff responds. I should not have had to call repeatedly and ultimately mention the police before the hotel took a serious noise complaint at 12:30 a.m. seriously. For a hotel, providing guests with a reasonably quiet place to sleep is about as basic as it gets. The handling of this situation was completely unacceptable. read more

This should not carry the Hilton brand name. You should be ashamed. This was the filthiest, most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. Carpets were covered in stains and badly needed replaced. Every inch of carpeting was absolutely filthy. Ceilings and corners were covered in cobwebs with spiders and egg sacks. Bedding was snagged and torn. Room was actually clean mostly. After reading Google reviews which every person complained about dirty sheets and uncleaned rooms, and bedbugs, I was happy ours wasn't filthy. Couldn't wait to get out of there. And this definitely needs to be brought to Hilton's attention. Not at all the quality I would expect from Hilton. Room rate should be more in line with a motel 6 not 193 a night on the Hilton site. We chose to stay here because it was a more affordable option, especially since we only needed the hotel for eating and showering. Most of our activities were already planned for our short weekend trip to Hershey. While the hotel could use some updates in terms of décor, the customer service was outstanding. They accommodated our request for a late checkout without hesitation and happily provided extra towels and key cards. There was plenty of parking, tons of hot water, and a super friendly front desk staff--huge shoutout to Jazmina! Jose, who worked both at breakfast and the bar, was fantastic. He's from Puerto Rico, which I had visited just three weeks ago, so we had a great conversation. He was incredibly friendly and patient, even when figuring out how to make a Moscow Mule. Ida, the kitchen supervisor, went above and beyond to make my friend's breakfast burrito just right. The beds were clean, though the mattresses could use an update. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again--the staff alone was a 10 out of 10! read more

The hotel could use some updates, mainly carpet. The staff are exceptional. stayed a total of 4weeks with them and the food at the restaurant was great. They have special almost every night and make a great burger. Also bartenders make great drinks and make fun non-alcoholic drinks. My room was clean and even the stair wells were kept clean. The pool was chilly for me, the weight room had a good amount of weight. I would highly recommend this hotel. read more

The entry was beautiful and that's where it ended. The room was large, but dirty. Very run down and dated. Furniture was scratched. Overall from the elevator to the hallway nothing was overly nice or clean. The bed was not comfortable; overly firm. Bedding and towels felt "stiff", hard and dry like no fabric softeners were used. No usb-c charger port plug ins in lamps or stands. Stand had to physically be moved to access beside outlets. For a "Hilton" brand, I would have expected much better quality. read more

The rooms are old school traditional styling. There were no usb ports near the bed, but there was one in the room. Outlets to charge required me to move the nightstand to plug in. The bed was a disaster. The blanket was likely reused from previous guest and there were small blood stains on the underside. The bedsheet was flipped inside out, which makes me wonder if that is also reused. I let the manager know and he offered me free breakfast. The hotel also changed the sheets and blankets. We arrived without a reservation since we were going to the Chocolate World tomorrow..Faith greeted us nicely and got us a room. The room wasn't too bad. I did find a hair under the toilet seat lid, and the shower stale needs to be remodeled. The place is needed for a remodel, but with the government mandated shutdowns over the past 2 years, i can see them not doing any remodeling. But it's over and time for a face-lift. They have breakfast, but its not free with the room like the Holiday Inn..$119 for a twin queen room. I did notice some safety features like peep hole covers and rubber trim along the bottom of the door. The heater worked well, and it has a wall thermostat. A large flat-screen TV about 55" was nice. A small refrigerator and microwave but no freezer . A couple of other pros. At home, we have an $8000 Select Cimfort bed. So, sleeping on any other bed is never comfortable. We slept so well . The bed was comfortable and the pillows were just the right height. I usually sleep until 4am. I woke up at 6:30. Crazy,right? read more

And even that, the scrambled eggs and sausage were disgusting. The only having grace was the red potatoes. Whatever their "breakfast package" cost probably isn't worth it. We drove to Hershey for a baseball tournament. The kids of course were excited (11 year olds) so they were a tad rowdy in the pool (jumping in etc) which is what kids do we told them to settle down. Then there are a bunch of other teams in the hotel and band kids etc. so everyone was pretty loud (running the halls,playing hide and seek etc) but we were the ones who kept getting notified. So went to Hershey park the next day and came back to swim and they drained the damn pool?!! So no swimming. They claim there was a light that needed changed and they were not refilling it! I call bull shit. We went specifically to this hotel because it had a pool and it is somewhere to contain them instead of them running from room to room. Well that plan failed. Later that night a huge wedding party came in and turned into a big crazy party in the lobby lol. Right after we were told it's quiet time. Felt singled out that no one else was getting yelled at. Double standards,rude management with the worst people skills that just escalated things. So just a warning if this is why you are going or to call ahead and see if any tournaments,band trips are in area and if so can book elsewhere. read more

This place is the absolute dirtiest hotel we've ever been in. We went to the first room and found bedbugs in the beds and dirt and trash all over the floor where it wasn't vacuumed. We went and spoke to the front desk, and they changed us to a different room, and yet again, the floors were filthy. Peoples nail clippings were in the floor. The lobby and the hallways were all dirty and not vacuumed. We left and they gave us a full refund. Avoid at all costs! read more

If I can give this hotel ZERO stars I would. I have never met such incompetent front desk agents in my life. Who ever trained these people in customer service should get fired! Let's start with Rachel - we check in and told her we had a separate reservation for the next day if we could please keep the same room since we were traveling with a kid and lots of luggage. She said sure no problem. The next day when we go get new keys we encountered Brit who was even more incompetent. Beside being rude and having no compassion she told us we had to change rooms because a "Diamond" member had already pre-checked into the room and it wasn't even 10am. She claims the member wanted that specific room because it was a connecting room. Well guess what, IT'S NOT! This hotel just plain old sucks! The rooms are damp and sticky. The floor in the foyer space feels like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The carpet is just plain disgusting. And there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom which means after a shower, the bathroom becomes a sauna. Do not stay here. Do not work here. If you are a primarily Spanish speaking person they will have staff meetings without a translator. I have heard the AGM Tanna say that it didn't matter if the staff understood, what was important was that they had the meeting. They prefer to use temps and they're not trained properly so the rooms look like Shit. Emily and Tanna taught me how to make beds. If I made my beds like that at my last hotel, a sister location, I would've been fired. The towels and sheets are rags. There is no in unit laundry. Most of my staff was not changing beds. Breakfast isn't included. The hotel is dated with dingy carpet and scuffed furniture. For some reason Emily's stupid ass idea of being an inspector is cleaning up after the housekeeper, but if your staff is trained properly i would not have needed to clean up behind them. Hilton garden inn Scottsdale n perimeter got 100% during corporate inspection. Our cleanliness rating is 99%. Guest satisfaction is 100%. Something I'm willing to bet on my life Emily and Tanna have never done in their careers at HGI Hershey. They have been through 10 housekeeping managers in 2 years from what I've been told. Stayed here for a wedding and it was a good stay. Clean rooms with a Keurig for coffee. The staff we spoke to were really nice and helpful. They offer contactless check in with a digital room key, which is awesome. First I would like to say Jazmeenah was very friendly, pleasant and nice at the front desk when checking in. Upon entering our room it had a musty smell, and I discovered the mattress pad had holes and tears. Travis the manager sent Maria to put a new mattress pad and remake the bed. The shower head had great water pressure. Unfortunately shortly after the manager Travis had left around 9pm there were several children playing and running through the hallway on our floor which I immediately contacted Jazmeenah at the front desk and reported it, she said she received another call as well and would do a sweep and talk to parents. Mold growing on the ceiling above the ac in both of our rooms. No bedspread on my beds, so I asked for one. When I returned from dinner, a spread was thrown in a clump at the end of one bed. Ants all over my room. Mold and and plain old dirt in the bathrooms. The staff was smiling and pleasant, just didn't seem surprised or concerned about anything. The only complaint I have is that some of the staff do not have anything, t shirts, or name tags to identify them as working for Hilton. Someone could pick up a handful of towels and try to come into your room. The room was very good. Beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would stay again. A work colleague suggested we stay here for our business trip to Hershey, PA and he was on the mark with this one...a great place to stay! It was a great property, easy to get to most anything needed that week, and the whole stay was a positive one. First of all, it is very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. Big open lobby and sitting area, ample space to spread out in the beautifully decorated and well furnished area. It also doubles at the space for the morning breakfast as well. Next, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They made me feel very welcome from the time I came into the hotel until checkout day. Very professional and positive staff here. The room I had was great. Clean, well furnished, well maintained, and no complaints about it, the bed, bathroom, or closet space. Housekeeping did a great job each day. I was very comfortable here for my week's stay. Overall, a wonderful stay and would recommend HGI-Hershey to anyone that asks about hotels in the area. read more

We stayed for 2 nights as this place is just 2 miles from the Giant Center. I was hoping to really like it but it was ho hum. The bed was not very comfy so I didn't sleep well. The water in the shower was either too hot or too cold. The room had a funky smell to it but nothing that wasn't bearable. The coffee was available 24/7 and it was really good. They also have Almond Joy creamers, they were awesome! We did have a coffee maker, Keurig and a frig and microwave which was helpful. We got two queen beds for a good price so it did work well. The Giant Center is not really within walking distance because it is a very busy highway type road. This hotel is near McDonald's, Sheetz and a few places to get food, drink and gas. read more

I brought frozen breastmilk for my baby and asked the woman working the front desk if they could put it in the freezer. I was told that they could not do that since it's "bodily fluid" and a "safety hazard". Wow. Get it together America, it's the 21st century. ALREADY FROZEN breastmilk that's is DOUBLE bagged is not going to contaminate your freezer. Now I have to figure out how to keep the milk frozen so that it doesn't spoil for my daughter. It seems like the new "normal" check-in time is around 5 pm, which is very disappointing. After a 10 hour drive here, the absolute last thing I want to do is wait in the lobby for an additional 2 hours. The past year, I can't even count the number of times our room hasn't been ready at check in time at MULTIPLE different locations. Update your check in AND check out time on your website if that can't be promised. I KNOW we are not the only frustrated family. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. My husband and I visit the Hershey area frequently and always try to find different unique budget places to stay in the area for our YouTube channel, The Theme Park Foodies. Pros- Price and location are great, less than 10 minutes to Hershey attractions. Lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas complete with a fireplace and presents under the tree. On site dining for dinner. Dinner and service was much better than expected. Our room was very spacious. Cons- I saw multiple housekeeping staff not wearing masks while cleaning rooms. Our thermostat screen (room 122) was cracked and hard to read. Vents would sometimes blow out cold air. Room was decently clean but outdated. The biggest downside was THE PILLOWS. They were so soft that they would just flatten down to nothing. Very uncomfortable sleep. We asked for more and tried using 3 each and it still wasn't enough support. My arm was numb all night from sleeping on it trying to prop my head up a little. There is also no hot breakfast, just a bagged option for $4. I found the Tru by Hilton in Hershey to have a much better vibe and amenities for a family Hershey Park stay. I feel Hilton Garden Inn is better for a quick overnight no frills business stay. read more

Terrible experience with the front desk. The girl just chatted with another guy in front of me and kept ignore the fact I was in line for check in. I finally budged in on their cozy small talk and said I need to check-in and he finally "noticed" there is someone beside him that needs to speak to the front desk. My kids noticed how dirty the lobby was with one single trash can overflowing with trash. The elevator we took to our room was old and dirty. Then, in the fridge of our room, we discovered the beer left by the previous guest. Don't these people clean the room after each guest leave? Never coming back here again. Pros : great price. (130$ for a Saturday into Sunday) Clean room. No weird or funky odors. (i've stayed in a few dives over the years) 5 Minute drive to Hershey Park Convenient location. Fast food,restaurants,etc are a short drive away. Cons : The pool was dirty (very cloudy and unsanitary) the jacuzzi wasn't functional. The noise level : Radios blaring,kids screaming,pipes banging ...went on until 2am. I guess you can't fault the hotel too much but it still sucked. I love my sleep. The Bed : bad... really bad. Like laying on a hardwood floor. Some people might like that but i'm not one of them. Mix that with the noise level and you got yourself the worst nights sleep i've had in a few years. Sounds crazy, but even with the terrible night's sleep I'd probably give this place another try. A clean room and decent price is really hard to come by. I'll just have to pack some horse tranquilizers ... or Tylenol PM. read more

I came up for a meeting in Hershey. Check in was quick, painless and the staff friendly and professional. The room was roomy and comfortable, the bed comfy and the pillows fluffy. I had no problems sleeping which is not always the case when I'm on a trip. They have a made to order breakfast and the omelet I had was delicious! Internet is complimentary as well as a couple of bottles of water. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. read more

Though it may not be "The Hershey Hotel" it provides a comfortable stay with spacious rooms, a friendly & accommodating staff and access to many of the local and regional attractions. Views of the rolling hills quickly remind you that you've stepped away to the country and are far from the city and all of it's madness. Immediately upon entering the hotel the friendly staff promptly checked me in and invited me to enjoy the fresh brewed coffee and numerous tea varieties and cookies. The lobby was tastefully decorated and attached to a well stocked bar and restaurant including outdoor space with gas lamps and a fire pit. I had a wonderful experience at this Hilton, no complaints and it was so relaxing. I did hear children running around but I was told at check in that there was children staying there due to a hockey competition so I was glad for the "warning". I heard them during the day but no issues at night. My room was clean and I loved the Hershey kisses from room service. Everyone was so nice and I went away for a relaxing weekend away and they delivered! Thank you! I plan on going back hopefully very soon! read more

For a Hilton establishment, I expected better. I am a Hilton Honors member and was placed in a room that could not have been in a worse location. I had trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, and falling back to sleep due to the noise from outside of the room. The room was just OK... the bathroom was dirty and the shower curtain should have been replaced weeks ago. The gym was very minimal containing one treadmill and one elliptical. There were no weights at all. The pool was very small as well and you couldn't do laps in it. Additionally, the woman who checked me in was not very pleasant and was boreder-line rude/condescending. The breakfast buffet they offered was $14 and it didn't look appetizing. On the plus side the reception area is gorgeous and the parking was easy. I think Hilton should focus on making this establishment better as it certainly could be improved in a few areas. read more

Staff was super super friendly. Breakfast wasn't available two of the four days because they didn't have staff available and yet the manager seemed to just be watching TV in the lobby. Hot tub was broken and the first aid kit in the pool area was literally just empty boxes. Fitness center was dated and small. Hall carpeting and elevators were pretty worn/stained and old. Business center doesn't exist anymore since they decided to give the whole space to the sales rep. It is super close to Hershey Park (5 mins.) with lots of quick places to eat close by. If you're coming for just the park it makes sense if the price is right. Checked the mattresses, one had a big stain on the box spring but I didn't see any bed bugs or anything. All in all not somewhere I'll stay again but I will say the staff at the desk was incredibly kind and helpful. They pretty much saved this place from total Suckage. read more
