    Double room.

This is our second time staying here. Yes it is an older place so if you want to a new, fancy, loud hotel, with all the new conveniences, this is not your place. What you do get is a room that has room to actually move in, a comfortable bed and is quieter than the newer places as the walls are old style thick. Only down side is the front rooms you can hear the highway. On the plus side, it has those thicker walls so noise is only through the window and once asleep, you don't hear it (I am a light sleeper). Would give it five stars but the shower needs some caulking and one outlet the plugs fall out of. A good place if you are looking for a clean, comfortable bed to sleep in.

I hope this sums up our experience at the Inn at Chocolate Avenue. That's right. It was left right there in the chair.

My friend and I recently visited this place and I cannot stress how important it is for you to steer clear from it. The employees were nice but the place was a wreck. We had to switch our room because there was hair all over the shower, barely any AC, and no towels or hotel necessities to speak of. When we switched rooms, it was a bit better but none of the keys worked to get in the room. None of them. Then to my surprise in the chair closest to my bed there was a used tampon just lying there near the armrest. Mold on the shower curtain was totally a thing too. This really got me grossed out. Imagine you or your child coming into contact with that, especially right now. I know that Covid is a thing right now, but why on Earth wouldn't you offer breakfast? Use gloves. Don't just not offer it. Pure laziness on managements part. Hope it gets better. Splurge if you have to , to enjoy your stay. This was not the worst, but def not the best.

This place is disgusting! I walked into my room and was afraid to sit on the bed in fear of bed bugs or something worse. The girl at the front desk was rude, talking on her phone on a personal call while checking me in, the breakfast they offer is a grab and go in paper bags, they don't have curtains, only a sheer shade, the mattresses are so old they're sunk in. The bathtub and bathroom floors are grimy and filthy. I paid $154 after taxes for this room and I didn't stay. I walked in and stayed long enough to find another hotel nearby. The pictures on there website are very deceiving. All the pictures I've posted and other unfortunate guest are very accurate!

Debris in the air conditioning unit. Do you want to breathe this?

SLEEP IN YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU SLEEP HERE! This is one of those filthy hotels that you just hear about, but never see in real life! The stairs and hallway to the room was a preview of what was to come. It looked as if a vacuum hadn't been used in weeks. The air conditioning unit in the room was clogged with debris. A child's toy was out in the open, not hidden under furniture or hard to see. If anyone cleaned the room, they would have easily seen it. But they didn't see it because they don't clean. I have shared with you all I stayed to see before I went straight to the desk and demanded a refund - as did all the others in our party, about 10 other families. I will say the front desk personnel were courteous and seemed well-versed in sorely disappointed guests and the refunds they deserve!

Booked a room for 2 nights. After searching the room, we found bed bugs in the dresser. We went down to the main desk to discuss the issue with someone. The owner went up with us to the room and was discussing that there were no bed bugs we even showed a picture of the bed bug and denied it was a bed bug stating, "Bed bugs are on beds. Not on dressers." Found an article from Orkin: 'Bed bugs do not have a preference for wood or metal. They hide in narrow harborages close to where the potential host sleeps. This might be anywhere within several feet of the bed (baseboards, dressers, nightstand).' Link: https://www.orkin.com/ask-the-orkin-man/do-bed-bugs-live-inside-wooden-beds At this point, we wanted our money back and to leave. Instead of handling this situation in a calm and collective manner, he was very aggressive, yelling in the main lobby that he is not paying us back, and then called the cops on us. The police handled the situation very well, getting both sides of the story and getting to a solution! I eventually got to call Booking.com and cancel my reservation free of charge. There were other things about cleanliness with hair still on the towels and a half eaten chicken wing, but I wanted to focus mainly on the bed bugs and how it was handled so poorly. If you are considering staying here because of the lower rates from other hotels in the area, I would reconsider. You will get what you pay for...

These photos tell the entire story of this place!!!

This place was horrible!! When I arrived with my pets they gave me a room where the door was kicked in, there was puke on the floor, and the wall paper was torn off the walls and the lights didn't work. When I complained to management, they gave me another room but that wasn't much better either. There was mold on the floor and shower curtain, the window curtains where torn and I had to zip tie them together just to keep them closed. The wall paper was torn and there was trash underneath the beds. The room smelled musty. The continental breakfast was horrible as well. I went to get a muffin and a donut and the donut was spoiled. The food tasted like it was frozen and thawed several times over. Also the security door that was supposed to remained locked for guest safety was tapped opened because the door didn't work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. Completely horrible!!!

The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

I currently work for American Airlines at the Charlotte Douglas Airport. The front desk agent Matt - caused me to walk away from a prepaid reservation and pay to stay at the Hilton Hershey property instead. Which was amazing, by the way! I had a reservation for 6/15, and had called the week before to reconfirm an early check in. After working my 8-9-hour shift, I drove over 7 hours straight to Hershey PA to take my elderly mother to a concert at Hershey Stadium. Once arriving at the Fairfield, Matt brusquely replied that I did not have a reservation. I explained to him that a Marriott Vacation Club Member had gifted me the room and it was registered in my name as well as theirs. He then "found it" and told me there would be no early check in although I had confirmed, and I would have to wait until after 4pm. Mind you it is 11am, and at this point I have been awake well over 24 hours and am feeling faint. He was so nasty, I took a step back to take a calming breath. He was then so rude to the next lady (in front of her children as well) that she exclaimed "is this how you treat Marriott Bonvoy Members? WOW!" I knew I was unable to reason with this individual, and I was too exhausted to escalate the issue. So, I simply left and took my business elsewhere. I called today after some thought on the matter, hoping to give grace, and it was Matt who answered the phone. He was disdainful, snide, would not provide me with the GM's name or email and disconnected the call. I called Marriott Bonvoy myself and got the information I needed. Matt is ABSOLUTELY NOT the person Guests should EVER see and interact with upon entering a Marriott property. A welcoming smile and spirit of kindness is necessary in our industry. Matt has none of these qualities. Like I relayed to Corporate, Matt is most definitely a cause of loss of revenue for this location. On a more positive note, Zira and Melisa at The Hampton Inn Hershey saved the day! Highly recommend!!!

With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.

The grounds are well-manicured, the indoors clean with numerous conveniently located restrooms. It paarars to me that the entire complex is handicap friendly. The staff all seemed friendly and security had a presence. The light breakdast and lunch buffets were quite tasty, and there was plenty of coffee and other beverages available. I thought it nice that each table had a small assortment of Hershey chocolates.
