Exit the station from platform one and you'll be in reception in just a couple of minutes. This hotel is a standard Hilton By Hampton build and does what is says on the tin. It's clean, comfortable and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. As with all HBH hotels, you get free wifi and a buffet breakfast (standard fare, but serves its purpose). Rooms are standard in design and come complete with multichannel flat screen tv, radio alarm clock, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, walk-in shower and there's a workable desk with plug sockets in the right place. The hotel serves meals from 11:00 till 22:00, but there's a 24/7 menu too (pizzas etc). It's not elaborate, but more than serves its purpose. For those unfamiliar with the area, there are no eating establishments within sensible walking distance from the hotel (other than disgraceful prices at the airport), so unless you have a car, the onsite restaurant will serve you well. There are car parking facilities at the hotel, which costs £6 a night. The hotel has a bar which is open 24/7. If you are relying on public transport, aside from the train station next door, there's the bus to the airport as well as in to Luton town and the surrounding area. The hotel is located just a few minutes from the M1 motorway as well as several main "A" roads. The Hampton By Hilton Luton is ideal for an overnight stay, pre or post departure from the airport, or if you are area. You may need to watch the room rates as sometimes they can be a little on the high side (supply and demand, I realise). I paid £63.20 for the night and thought I'd got myself a good deal.

Spoke with reception people but they said it's common and present in every room. This hotel is the farthest of 4 hotels from the airport, but is still about a 10 minute walk away. There is a sidewalk the entire way to the airport. If you travel in from London, you can take a couple trains down and the ticket should include a shuttle transfer to the holiday inn about half a mile away. The rooms are small - I stayed in a double room. Everything was functional - the shower was hot, the sheets were clean, and the bed was comfortable. For $30-40 I don't think you will much better. The close proximity to the airport as well as the ease of getting here from London makes this a great place to stay for an early Ryanair flight the next morning!

Attention to where the food was sourced and great service. But we were the only ones eating. Everyone else was at the front in the original part of the building getting drunk. It was only on closer inspection that we realised this place was also a hotel. From the website it seems like a chic boutique. But I can't honestly give much information on it. I will be going back and will have a proper dinner there. I will update my review with full dinner details. All I know is the food was lovely. Give it a try.

What a cracking surprise this turned out to be!…read more Smack bang in the middle of this pretty little village this English country pub packs a couple of great surprises. First of all the layout inside is unusual and wonderful. Large tables and lounge chairs make this comfortable for coffee meetings and / or afternoon drinks for business whilst maintaining a great pub bar, not an easy trick to pull off. The food is also outstanding, definitely better than you'd expect and certainly restaurant standard +. Thats not all the wine list is good too, they offer much more than the standard cheap Australian screw tops usually found in English pubs. But this pub is also a hotel and I stayed in room 5 which was warm, clean and had a great rain shower. The bed was comfortable too and my only gripe would be that the wardrobe was tiny and my view out of the window was grim. But this is a lovely English pub and it deserves a look from anyone able to visit.

For a typical hotel this place really does tick most of my boxes... the aircon in the rooms works a treat, the black out curtains actually block out all of the exeternal light, there is a small fridge in the room for your own drinks and snacks, and the rooms themselves are spacious... complete with a desk and extra chairs. Even not being a football fan, I must admit that the view into the stadium from the onsite restaurant is quite cool... I believe some rooms have a view as well, so obviously this can be a huge plus. The breakfast here was on par with what you would expect, but extra props for the eager willingness to make eggs however you wanted them. I can't speak to the dinners as I didn't have the chance to try them. The only odd negative can be the sheer size of the hotel as it wraps around the pitch... my particular room was hilariously far away from the entrance which proved a bit of an annoyance when after a long day my keycard no longer functioned... it was nearly soul destroying knowing my bed was just there on the other side of the door with no way for me to get to it. Based on my disclaimer I'm going with four stars personally, as I certainly wouldn't be upset staying here again, but if you're a football fan or if you generally prefer hotels such as the DoubleTree Hilton then I doubt you'll find much fault.

Downsides is it can be pricey when you go direct to Hilton, however check out some of the booking sites like LateRooms or Lastminute to get the best deals. I paid £70 for a night in a pitch side room. Expect the prices to rocket wherever you buy from on match days!

For what you get, the price is very good, and they are willing to shuffle things around for you on the menus to cater for what you are looking for. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished, and again, not too expensive really. If you are looking to hold an event, I would definitely recommend considering The Roebuck Inn, as I could not fault them, and would definitely look to use them again.
