Cannot warn against this hotel strongly enough. Save yourself the headache and book at the Marriott down the street for cheaper room price, cheaper parking, and management that actually cares about guests. This Hilton holds itself out to be a "4-star hotel" and charges parking based on it - $40 a day. Despite this, it falls flat on its face on the most basic aspects of guest care. If you like air conditioning, this hotel is not for you. This Hilton has motion sensing HVAC unit. The unit turns off within 10-15 minutes of non movement, unlike most other hotels that will stay on for much longer after movement or might even stay on if you're in the room whatsoever. If you ask the front desk they'll be sympathetic but they'll tell you that there's nothing they can do, that they get complaints daily, and that management is well aware of constant complaints and doesn't care. I ended up getting 0 minutes of sleep before the biggest test of my life because of this hotel's incompetence. It is truly laughable to me that Hilton thinks this is an acceptable level of care for this level of hotel. That's just mentioning the AC - two of my four towels in my room were visibly stained, the bottles of shampoo and conditioner nearly empty, and even basic amenities, like water bottles, that are free at nearly every other comparable hotel, were $3. It is incredibly clear that whoever is running this hotel cares more about squeezing out every single penny possible from the guests than their comfort. Do not give your money to this place, they could not care less about how your stay goes as long as the check clears. Even after I told them about all of my issues, including having to pay out of pocket for a new hotel so I could actually sleep, there was nothing but empty platitudes and no offer to make anything right. We are Hilton Honors members and wanted to be close to everything downtown which this location is great for that. But other than the location, it is a solid MEH! The front desk staff almost seemed bothered every time we asked a question, the air conditioner stopped working on day 2, the bathroom is aged with paint chips on the door, no extras like a cup to use in the bathroom, mismatched curtain panels. Hilton missed the mark on this one. It just looks well worn, it's in need of a definite refresh. I won't be staying here in the future. read more

Unfortunately, this Hilton is so subpar compared to any other I've stayed at. First, one of the 3 elevators is broken and has been broken for months. Secondly, the sink in my room was clogged the entire stay and nobody came to fix it, as requested. The room smelled of mold and the wallpaper was peeling off due to the dampness. Lastly, there was a 1-2 inch gap between the bottom of my door and the floor. I could literally see people's shoes as they walked past my room. I stayed here for my trip to Knoxville for two days. I got a suite on the 17th floor and had a nice view of the city. The room is outdated for sure, especially within the bathroom. My sink also had a a slight clog in it as it would back up after running it for 20 seconds. There is a breakfast area however it is not complimentary. Thankfully with my diamond status I got a daily credit to help offset the meal. Note parking was an additional $35 a night. Overall a convenient hotel but not the most updated. read more

Writing this in December after months of frustration and zero accountability. There is a serious safety hazard in the stairwell at this Hilton. The design allows small children or pets to fall through an opening with a severe drop. Earlier this year, my dog fell approximately 30 feet in this stairwell. It was a horrifying incident that never should have been possible in a properly designed or maintained building. What's most concerning is not just the hazard itself, but the response from management. The issue was reported, acknowledged, and ultimately ignored. No meaningful safety changes were made, and the claim related to the incident was denied. As of December, the same dangerous condition still exists. This means families, children, and pet owners are still at risk. A simple, code-compliant fix could prevent a tragedy, yet nothing has been done. I'm posting this as a public safety warning. If you're traveling with kids or animals, I strongly recommend choosing a different hotel until this issue is properly addressed. One preventable incident is already too many. read more

my room had hair all over the bathroom tile, bedding and tub. carpet was not throughly vacuumed. room is a bit outdated, room needs brighter lightening, the lamp shades and light bulbs have tons of dust on them. bathroom caulking was done unprofessionally and white caulking has mildew embedded in the caulking, just cut it out and replace. A little update: Nicole T. has yet to contact me leading me to believe she cares as much about guest concerns as the manager at Hilton Knoxville, she doesn't care. It's just "lip service". My card was charged $40.42 for the privilege to park my car in their parking deck after renting a room from them for 1 night, actually 14 hours. I would've made other plans and avoided this place all together had they posted some kind of notice about parking rates or a separate charge from room rates for parking. Kudos Hilton Knoxville! This facility is located in the heart of Downtown Knoxville, and is within walking distance of almost everything you'd want to see in the downtown district. The rooms are modern and clean, and the housekeeping staff is exceptional. The made-to-order breakfasts were a surprising treat, especially with the Honors food and beverage credit. The staff of the hotel could easily be overwhelmed by the volume of guests in and out of their hotel, but they manage with ease and friendliness. I typically do not invest my effort to give a bad review...however this experience was so terrible that I find myself wide awake in my own room disappointed, disgusted, & livid by the service received and the very apparent and blatant racism displayed and projected by the front desk staff. Specifically Angie P.! Angie P. was rude and extremely disrespectful & racially profiled my wife! Who politely asked for her to provide the proper change from the 40$ I gave her to pay for parking . We were there for a short time for my wife's company Christmas party. They rented a floor for the event and we considered staying a night there and I am so glad we didn't invest our money into a company that would treat a woman so poorly based on the color of her skin!!! Angie P. treated my wife as if she were criminal and intentionally acted is if she was afraid because she shorted my change. She called security because SHE could not count. The sad thing is we have a wedding coming up and little did she know had my mom and wedding planner working with this location to host a portion of our 200+ party of guests to stay here. We immediately reached out to my mom after this horrendous experience to tell her to entirely cancel this. We will not tolerate racism & definitely will not allow our guest to exposed to the abuse racial profiling racial prejudice racial discrimination & injustice . To top it off we were only being diligent about the change so that we could leave more of a tip for the valet. The manager of valet also felt it necessary to tell me that I better make it up to my wife when I get home implying that I should make her feel better about the racism she had to endure which is was super inappropriate because why would you feel like it's okay to imply sexual innuendos especially in this uncomfortable and threatening situation???! We stayed the weekend of the Men's Gymnastics Championships. Hilton Knoxville was the host hotel so were able to secure a discounted group rate. Valet parking only at the hotel, but there might be street and garage parking nearby. They had a full service restaurant and a Starbucks. We only stayed one night. Our room was a two bed and it was plenty spacious for my family of three. The bathroom was kinda small, but we managed. The room and hotel itself was clean. After a very long day and night of gymnastics, we all slept very well. We asked for a late check out ahead of time with no problem. Masks were required and social distancing was encouraged with floor markers. Hand sanitizer was readily available. The staff was wonderful. We had a short great stay. Location is perfect if you want to be close to everything! read more

I would recommend this Hilton based solely on the staff! Although the lobby and general area of the hotel was lovely, my room was not. The bathroom is where the let down started. Two nights (on points) at this full service property where we had a nice room on the 15th floor that was mostly quiet and very comfortable. A little bit of noise from neighbors through the connecting door and some from the hallway but nothing from outside. We were pretty far down the hallway so there was nothing from the elevator. Hotel communication was excellent. I received an initial text message asking how things were and then a second the next morning asking if we needed anything. I replied to that one that we would be skipping housekeeping but could we have a few more towels and some more coffee. When we returned to the room a few hours later (I had the DND on the door), there was a pair of large bags full of clean towels and another bag with nearly 20 coffee packets and twice that many creamer packets. Way to overdeliver, Hilton Knoxville! We valet parked the car with the hotel and as a Hilton Diamond, that was only $18 a day. But it's worth noting that there is a parking deck around the corner that's free on the weekends and I did not spot that until later. Concierge lounge was full of snacks in the evening and a decent standard breakfast in the morning. Clean and well cared for by a friendly attendant. Everyone we interacted with was lovely. Room decor is a bit dated, but VERY well maintained. Hot water could be a bit hotter. Breakfast hash is not classic hash - it is a skillet-type breakfast. Unexpected, but plenty good enough that I ordered it the second day. Breakfast staff is attentive Without being obsequious. The only gripe: I arrived at 12:45 and was hoping for an early check-in. My nephew made reservations for our entire family to stay for 3 nights for his son's graduation from UTK. He booked 4 rooms and we arrived from Memphis on Thursday and checked in. The first impression was tarnished when we found trash in our room that was not ours. Then when I ran the water to take a shower, the cold water and hot water was switched up and blue was hot and red was cold. It took awhile to figure it out but then the water would not drain and I had to stand in water to finish the shower. It took at least 10 minutes for it to drain causing my roommate to have to wait for her shower. We were on a time restriction due to all the plans we had made for the graduation and dinners. So this was an unfortunate situation that caused delays. When we checked out and were asked about the stay, I replied that it was just ok. The desk clerk seemed to blame us for not reporting it when it happened but we were on a timeline and didn't expect that we would have to report their defects. All she offered was a cup of Starbucks coffee for free. The Hilton should have complimentary coffee anyway but they apparently have a deal with Starbucks not to provide free coffee so they can sell inside the hotel. I had to ask her for a receipt and she stated it would be emailed to my nephew who booked the rooms. I asked her to send it to me instead and she said she couldn't. Really??? How hard can it be to add or change an email address? But I was able to get her to print me a copy. On the receipt I was charged for 2 cars on my valet charge which seems unlikely that I drove two cars. I will never stay at this hotel again and will make sure no one I know does either. We have another graduation in May and we will again have to book at least 4-6 rooms but it will not be Hilton. The hotel rooms are old and dingy and disgusting. The one star review is only because I had to give it a star but if I could it would be a negative star. read more

For starters this was a getaway that had multiple mishaps. We started our stay here with reasonable expectations and honestly thought it looked pretty nice. We are easygoing people and aren't typically bothered by minor things. The first issue we had here was the staff at the front desk.. no amount of hospitality or care that we were staying a them couldn't even stop their own conversation to tell us our room number just handed us cards. The room had an Oder that I could only describe as musty crusty. We don't say anything tho...come 3am and there is continuous screaming in the halls like concerning screaming. But I did arrive at a high occupancy night. I saw nothing at the hotel that was crazy good. The hotel is great but some garden inn can look as good, newer and better rate. I got a nicer king size room that had huge windows only overlooking some driveway or parking area. The bathroom was totally normal. The kitchen and living area were great. The bed was not amazing. The gym is a bit bigger size and might be the best thing in the hotel plus its location. Got to love Knoxville and specially Tennessee above all! Will never stay here again. we came for basketball and we found out we didn't need the extra day we booked for Thursday, tried to cancelctjeyxtood us we couldn', to many hidden fees like for parking and no vending or ice machine on our floor. the elevator took 15 minutes just to come up with no one in it. wouldn't let us check out late so to leave the whole hotel was in a standstill. My stay at the Hilton was nice. The bed slept comfortably, so there is no complaint in that area. However, it is located downtown (I am guessing near a fire station). There was a lot of sirens throughout the night, so my sleep was disturbed quite a bit. I do not like surprises...meaning that they had to held a $50 incidental fee on my card, which ultimately goes towards parking fee. You pay a fee whether you valet or self park. My husband & I stayed here because the event we were attending (Freakout in the Dragon - a Fiat event) had a block of rooms reserved here. The staff was very helpful - from check in to check out. They were very nice when my key stopped working - apparently it is very sensitive if it's kept by your cell phone. The rooms are very nice & comfortable. I'm a weirdo and bring my own pillows but the beds were super comfy. The air conditioner was turned on and for some reason, you couldn't control it but it didn't matter because it was hot outside and it was just at the right temperature. The rooms had stickers on the doors after they were cleaned (due to COVID 19 to let you know that no one entered the room after they were cleaned). It was a nice touch. And due to the COVID 19, housekeeping service was available only when requested I would definitely stay here again. read more

I accidentally booked a 4 night stay instead of a 3 night stay. When I had an Orbitz customer service representative speak to the manager, they explained that I would be checking out after 3 nights. The manager refused to make an exception to the policy. I explained that Hilton would be losing a customer over something so simple as refunding me a night for which I won't be in the hotel. The manager clearly doesn't seem to be bothered by the loss of a customer. So what does that mean about every other client? My family and I reserved our rooms through Priceline so the price per night was a value for this time of the year. We didn't arrive until late in our check in day but we were checked in quickly, our only issue was the parking. Everyone had the same idea to check in late or coming back into the hotel the same time. The hotel did not plan for this with only one person trying to park and retrieve people's cars. We got our room keys and went to our room, it was two queen beds, nice TV, refrigerator, safe and small coffee pot. The room was clean, smelled good and was roomy for us. The heating/cooling worked well making the atmosphere nice. The shower/bathroom was a little small but we made it work. Plenty of towels, wash clothes, just enough of soap and shampoo. I booked a one night stay here and to be frank, this is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. I loved my shower experience. The shampoo and conditioner bottle have a station on the shower's walls where they hang at, which prevents you knocking one over and hitting your foot. This is a convenient feature! Nice hotel in the downtown area. Large lobby area with a Starbucks store. Not just a kiosk but an actual full service location which is pretty cool and convenient. I had a king bed and there was also a large couch as well. Desk and TV with a fridge as well. Coffee maker with 2 free bottles of water. They also have bathrobes at this location which I always like. The bathroom was a little tight but good. There was room service available and I ate dinner at the lobby restaurant and the food was good. I didn't use it but there was also a pool here as well. This is our second time staying here. Both times were just overnight stays while we journeyed to/from home. I think what I least like about it is having to lug your luggage from the parking structure to the street to the front entrance of the hotel. It's not a long walk by any means, but just not my ideal when staying at a hotel. If I were by myself, I'm sure I would not stay here - because what is potentially a safety issue. The elevator area in the lobby is a bit snug and really doesn't have room for more than a handful of people (with their luggage) while waiting for a slow moving elevator. I think it must be an older Hilton. They were out of hand soap. The clerk at the front lobby said they were waiting for a shipment. They gave us body soap to use instead. Not their fault - I'm sure just another victim of the supply chain issues. We had a pretty good meal at the restaurant but service was slow because there was only one server. I'm not sure I would choose the Hilton Knoxville again if our stay was longer than one night. read more

NOT A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!Awful Experience from the moment I checked in. I reserved two rooms, and choose this hotel because it stated it had connecting room and was pet friendly. I was so excited to stay at this hotel, and had such high hopes. At this moment, unless items are addressed, and changed I will NEVER be staying at this location again. At this moment online, you are able to book connecting rooms and have them be pet friendly. I arrived at the location, and was promised a fast, smooth check - in and was nothing of that sort. Once I arrived, I was informed that since we had a pet, we were unable to be placed in connecting rooms that were already paid for. Then they decided to inform us they have a dedicated floor for pets. NONE of this is advertised. From every sign in the hotel, to the website, and to ads played, it stated it is pet friendly and was not listed anywhere that it had stipulations. Of course, the pet friendly rooms, and the floor did not have any connecting rooms. We specifically reserved king beds as well. The beds they ended up assigning us were one king bed, and one double queen bed that were next to each other but not connecting. The hotel refused to issue a refund for the beds, and staying in rooms that don't cost as much. Their reasoning was stating if I booked today, it would be more expensive, and them not understanding I was not given what was promised and what was paid for and I booked previous under a mutual understanding and not false advertising. Realizing I was not getting anywhere with the manager, or acting manager (who was poorly being trained) we accepted the rooms since we were exhausted from driving. The moment we entered the rooms, there were lingering smells and you can tell since they were designated pet rooms they were not well maintained and were outdated. There was also no warm or hot water, and there was no difference how long you waited for it to warm up. That night since we were on the dedicated pet floor, there were rooms that had dogs that would non- stop bark ALL NIGHT LONG. They had an officer strolling the hall, and sitting out of their rooms doing nothing... the barking continued all weekend. Then we received a notice in our door on 2/22 stating that they were going to preforming necessary plumbing repairs and will have the water turned off. The next morning, we wake up, and there is no cold water but only extremely HOT WATER. This is supposed to be a pet friendly floor, and couldn't even give water to my dog it was so hot. I couldn't even shower it was so HOT, my skin turned red the moment it touched me and was on the lowest cold setting. Then to also include while checking in, they assigned a new guest to a room that was already reserved and had guest in it. This hotel needs to have new management, and needs CHANGES! I gave it 2 stars because the staff was very friendly during the stay. I've stayed in other Hilton's in other states this one in Knoxville was very dark in the room, the bathroom was very small. When I booked the hotel I was told that I wouldn't be paying for parking during the stay and was charged $30 a day also, the water in the room is only free if you are a higher tier customer. There is a tag on the bottle that wasn't clear about who would be charged, after the first night there were no tags left on the bottles, which lead me to think it was free by the free coffee. I was also charged for that. There was no microwave in the room, it was down the hall in a vacant space and if you wanted ice you needed to go to the next floor. When I called to discuss the charges the women was very rude and said that there was no exceptions and that is what they charge but we didn't have WiFi for the first night, and the second night the WiFi came and went there was no credit for that inconvenience . When asked who I was speaking with, she hung up. That is the such horrible customer service. I would never stay here again. read more

I'm in a hotel 2-3 nights a week for business. Having spent over $300 for a room, I was placed in a very dated room with peeling wallpaper and an old fashioned AC unit. There was a party of lawyers next door that the hotel manager refused to shut down, and let them party in the hallway. There are a number of hotels in the area that are much nicer with better service. Do not stay here. Do not stay here especially if you are in town on business. A good nights sleep is everything- we overslept and didn't want to leave. Check in was easy and they allow you to check in early if your room is ready. Rooms are clean and spacious. Location has a high walkability measure- close to lots of restaurants and Market Square area. There is also a Starbucks downstairs; you cannot redeem any rewards if you have the app at this location tho. Parking is available on site for $14/day or $20 valet. There is also another parking structure right next door that is free on weekends and after 6 on weeknights. I suggest using this one as it's $12/day. read more

We spent two nights in Knoxville attending an event at the convention center. We wanted a hotel close to that venue - on our first night we chose the Holiday Inn which is directly across from the convention center. Convenience on distance was really the only positive there. Omg, that place desperately needs a remodel. So glad they were sold out on our second night - this gave us the opportunity to try the Hilton! We are happy to report that we really loved the Hilton! The location, service, decor, elevators, beds, parking - it's all great! Do not hesitate to stay here!! We drove up to the front door to hop out and check in. That's when we met an employee named Krista(??). She welcomed us and assisted us with loading our luggage into a cart and brought them to our room! Wow, didn't get that service at the Holiday Inn! When we entered the hotel, right away we noticed the updated decor. Very nice! Oh and when we pushed the button for the elevator, it quickly arrived! It's the little things in life! Lol. We had been waiting in lines for elevators at the holiday inn - it was so exciting that the Hilton's elevators rocked! :) Our luggage arrived quickly and she even suggested some dinner locations. Very nice personality - very down to earth. I really liked that. Nice touch! We had a small issue where one of our keys did not work. she quickly took the key and apologized and said she would be right back with a replacement. She quickly returned with a working key! Fast service! By the way, in case you need a coffee fix...There's a Starbucks in the lobby! The location is just a few blocks from the convention center. There's a bridge walkway that takes you directly there - a 5 minute walk! Easy Peasy! Within 2 blocks there are also tons of restaurants. We enjoyed going out for dinner and walking to and from the restaurant. Very convenient. There is an outdoor lounge area with a bar. It looked really nice, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try it out. The price per night was the same as the Holiday Inn but was definitely in a whole higher class for service, decor and amenities ! We would not hesitate to return to this Hilton and will definitely recommend it to others! Nice job Hilton! You really made a difference in our first trip to Knoxville! read more

I've slept on couchs more comfortable than these beds. $20 per day to park, $25 per day tfor valet. Literally had two people in the lobby ask me for money for a room... I get you experience panhandling any downtown in America but literally inside the hotel is unacceptable. Planned on staying 6 night, only stayed the one nigh because I refuse to pay $780+ to have panhandlers hit me up inside my hotel. The hotel management refused to allow me to cancel the remaining nights. I called American Express since I booked my stay through them. They were able to get 4 nights credited back but the hotel charged me for the 2nd day even though we didn't stay. The hotel was 93% occupied, I know this because I heard the front desk personnel talking. I am a Hilton rewards member and will question staying with them again in the future. There are better places to stay for the same money. read more

My son and a friend of his stayed here just before Easter 2021. The room was gorgeous, the staff were super friendly, and the view from our room was beautiful. We played a board game in the lobby after dinner until 1130 p.m. and the staff were great, coming to check on us and they even have us complimentary drinks while we played. I was thoroughly impressed. Will most definitely be back here. read more

Beautiful Hotel! From the Valet to the Front Desk- Amazing and Friendly!! Our room was clean and spacious with a incredible view of the historic buildings and the Tennessee River. Had dinner in the restaurant on the 1st and the food was delicious. A convenient Starbucks is there too. We will definitely be back. read more

The hotel staff is very helpful, nice, and The Firefly restaurant staff was awesome especially the bartender with long hair. The food was just ok but out of all the menu the burger was pretty good. Now to the important part, the hotel has some rooms with water damage and some floors as well, they need to remodel heavily and not hire cheap contract work which sucks. read more

Beware! Disgusting and poor customer service + crazy fees. First off, their $50 pet is fee is crazy! The guy (nice the whole time) dropped it to $30 after asking if I knew the fee was $50. I said no, and he immediately offered $30 which made it seem like the fee rate was arbitrary and they just wanted my business because COVID 19 had killed travel. Plus, everyone we saw checking in had pets so who knows what others were paying. As far as the other rates, I should have asked but online said it'd be $105 for the type of room I requested. The entrance is under construction, and upon entering the lobby you smell something like gas. I get the keys and park in the garage (with much anxiety because the clearance is low (which was not mentioned at the desk)). We make our way to our room, and once in we find no sheets on the bed and the pillows are stacked on the floor with no cases. I call down and same guy said the room they put us in wasn't in inventory but they opened it for us. Why wouldn't the front confirm that a room was ready for guests before sending some up, and at 11pm to boot? They get us into another room, but still for the over $100 room +fees, it is more than a little annoying considering I'm bouncing a baby on my hip who wants to be fed and put to bed. So on we go to our next room and there's broken glass on the carpet outside of the elevator on the floor of our new room. Not huge shards; however there are several sizable slivers all over the place glistening on the carpet that can be seen without getting closer to inspect. Obviously, this Hilton is not very pet friendly if I'm having to pay to watch out to make sure my dog's paws aren't shredded on the hall carpet on the way to my room! We get to the room and there's still soap from when they "cleaned" the bathroom, so again not pet friendly . We found trash under the move able ottoman, and the carpet in-front of the couch was sticky. We settled in for the night and when we woke up the next morning their was a HUGE cockroach next to my husband's side of the bed! I go to use the coffee maker to heat up some water in the coffee maker to make a bottle and chunks of bacterial growth come out and float in the water! We pack up and I go to check out and the BROKEN GLASS WAS STILL IN THE HALLWAY! I go to the front desk to check out and told the gentleman about the lack of cleaning (bug and glass) to which he didn't seem to really care because he had phones to answer. He handed me my bill and told me to have a nice day. The bill had $20 for the garage which I was not told about at check-in, plus there was no where to park by the hotel other than the garage. They did give the $30 pet fee like they said, so at least that wasn't a disappointment. I will be contacting Hilton directly since obviously this location does not care about its customers. read more
