Zero Stars. My now husband and I booked the presidential suite for our wedding night six months in advance. After our wedding, after our hired car dropped us off at the Hilton after a 45 minute drive, we were informed that a guest had "decided she wanted to stay in our room" and that "there was nothing they could do." The only reason we had come to the Hilton (45 minutes from our wedding) was to stay in that specific suite. We were put in a regular room with a king sized bed. However, somehow we still paid the much higher price of the presidential suite. Needless to say, it put a damper on our wedding night. To add insult to injury, the hotel manager failed to contact us at all. After two weeks, I finally called. The manager was defensive and rude, and after many communications, we were finally simply refunded the money we had paid for our stay. Even though we were offered in the alternative a free night stay at the Hilton, accepting that was not even a question because I will never stay in that hotel again. read more

I just reduced my stars from 3 to 1 because my credit card was charged multiple times for the same visit. I called for help and was given the cold shoulder. Add that to mediocre accommodations, and I will take my business elsewhere! -- This is just an average place next to the freeway. The room smells very dusty, and I determined it was the drapes; they need to wash them! The carpet also has ground-in sticky gunk, which makes me wonder how often they clean it. I'm glad I brought flip-flops! Oh, and they charge for wifi access. I'm used to it being complementary. The upside is that the bed is comfortable! It's not as comfy as in a high-end hotel, but you won't wake up with a spring print in your back. Front desk staff are great. read more

In June this hotel was going for $100, I got it on priceline for $59. That is about what it was worth, since there was no breakfast included and wifi was an additional fee. The swimming pool had no lights at night, making it creepy, and in the morning the staff didn't clean out the bugs. However, the beds were super comfortable and the rooms were clean. Ladies at the front desk seemed bothered whenever we asked a question. Not enough towels outside for the pool guests. read more

I'm a fan of the Hilton in Ocala. If you're traveling south to Miami, it's a great place to spend the night. The property is always clean and neat. The shade trees that surround the place make it feel warm and inviting. The staff are always polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. As an added bonus, they are one of the few nice hotels that are still pet friendly. There is a charge but it's worth every penny if you travel with your dog. The hotel is convenient to enter if you're coming from the interstate. Getting back to I75 is not quite as convenient though. There's a left hand turn out of the property onto a very busy road. We've now made it a habit to stop at the Hilton in Ocala every time we're traveling through. To date, the experience has been consistently good. Stopping at the Hilton in Ocala is one habit I do not intend to break any time soon. read more

On July 5, 2017, I had a trip and fall accident at Hilton's Homewood Suites in Ocala, Fl. I was walking from the lobby to an evening social, on an obvious path, when the outside of my leg, just above my ankle, hit a stone hearth, jutting out of a fireplace, and I was thrown into the hearth stonework, suffering multiple lacerations, on the bridge of my nose, my lips, my chest, and my legs. In addition, several of my teeth were cracked. I visited a hospital emergency room and was advised that most of my injuries appeared to be superficial,but my teeth needed to be repaired. I obtained an estimate from my dentist for this work. The insurance company for this hotel offered to pay 1/2, as they stated that I was equally at fault. Having suffered a brain-stem injury as few years ago, I underwent extensive physical therapy relearning to walk. My gait is not always perfect. In addition, this accident was easily avoidable if the hotel had put something alongside the overhang on the hearth! I refused the offer and a subsequent offer for a bit more. Hilton corporation refused to get involved. As a 71 year old, recently retired teacher, I cannot afford this unwanted cost,nor do I feel that I am responsible in any way for this "accident"! I would like Hilton and their insurance company to fix the problem at the hotel, and accept full responsibility for this issue! I wil continue to post negative reviews until they do! read more

We arrived at 10 pm and left at 10:30 pm. We travel with our Maltese dog and made reservations while on the road based on the reviews. When getting to our room which we were charged $181.00 ( I would gladly pay this amount for a clean and updated room)we found the carpet was quite dirty with soiled areas throughout. We called the front desk to tell them this and wanted them to know that this wasn't from our dog. Upon opening the cabinet to the refrigerator we saw a cockroach. We called the front desk and offered us a new room, we declined and went to another hotel. I felt if they had roaches in one room, they are probably in others. read more

The hotel was great. Had a nice room on the 8th floor which came with a great breakfast so thought I try the hotel for lunch. Very wrong choice! The menu described a steak sandwich as a marinated steak tips sandwich , what I got was a tuff sliced steak that was not at all worth the 10.00 price tag. The table next to me order onion soup which they sent back because it was cold, the Service was ok, didn't leave my normal twenty percent tip but half that. Update : I had a very nice email from the manager, apologizing for the service and food. Said he talk to the chef to try to improve in the future. So they are trying to make it effort to improve the service and food. So in the future it could be good read more

This was my first time at the Easter meal. My friend treated me and told me how nice it was. We waited outside for one hour with hundreds of other people. when finally got in we was seated at a table in the hall by the fire extinguisher. I looked at it all through the meal. The table was tippy also The waiters were very rude . The food was cold and not a lot to choose from. The waiter came to pick up the 178.00 bill and came back and did not know which card was ours !! I'll admit, I usually don't have the money to stay in Hiltons or any semi upscale hotels, but on this occasion I found a great deal on Expedia so I found myself here on work. Everything seems great and most important of all the beds were very comfortable. The one complaint I do have is that some of the staff were less than friendly. read more

This review is for the Hilton's Sunday Champagne Brunch. Came here after church while visiting Ocala. I think the best thing this brunch has going for it's self is the omelet station and the fresh salad section. OH and is there such thing as a bad Mimosa?? :D The hot food just wasn't that appetizing looking and i wasn't about to try it. The sausage and bacon was pretty good, it would haven liked the bacon to be crispier than it was. Anywho...i don't live in Ocala, but thanks for the hospitality Hilton Hotel. read more

The hotel is very large and nice. The staff was all friendly that we came in contact with. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was great, our server was very attentive and the made to order omelets were a hit. We had a package that included two breakfast buffets per room for 119.00 (we had two rooms), the server forgot to take off the vouchers and we did not notice. The manager came after us as we were getting on the elevator and insisted on correcting it immediately and gave us a 15%off coupon for our next stay. At check out the young lady told us they have a Clydesdale in the back of the hotel named buddy and that he is the hotel mascot. You are able to feed him and take pictures with him, we did not take advantage of that but that is a great activity if you have a child with you. The pool looked nice from our rooms but we did not take advantage of it this time. We felt that the hotel was very well priced for everything you get and will definitely stay here again. read more

The breakfast buffet was absolutely hideous. Everything that was supposed to be hot was cold and absolutely tasteless. Skip the buffet and opt for a made to order breakfast.... Hopefully the level of food is better. The staff was friendly, check in was easy, but the rooms are starting to be really dated and looking worn. The bed we had definitely was not the usual Hilton bed and horribly sagged in the middle. The pillows were comfy tho. Room was clean, but, as previously stated, it was dated. As Hiltons go, this is definitely one of the lower end locations. read more

It started with the bride & groom not getting the honeymoon suite, staff attempting to charge regular price for rooms that were booked & ended with the guests not receiving the complimentary breakfast as promised. Nice rooms, great hot tub and pool to really prepare us for our Disney vacation which started the next day. The lobby is lovely and the dining room staff was great. Any, and I mean ANY kind of cuisine is around as it is on a busy thoroughfare so I went to Red Orchid for Thai carry out and ordered enough for leftovers the next morning. So the reason for 4 stars is that the fridge didn't seem to actually keep the food cold, which I didn't notice til the next morning, and second they only have full size beds. Separate issue but with 2 adults and 2 kids, we could have used the wiggle room. Next time I'll check the temp on the fridge before I drop 60 bucks on carry out. read more

Nice hotel & room but service is awful. When checking in there were no smiles or thank yous. There are no towels at the pool on multiple times. Had to stand in line at checkin to ask for towels. To top it off, ac broke from 7-11pm on a Saturday night. We booked through a third party so no refunds. Hilton? This hotel can do better. read more

Booking through Booking.com. I was told that I had 24 to cancel well I cancelled in 15 mins . I have all the emails to prove it and I still was charged $139. I was told by Hilton I needed to cancel 48 hrs before , but I only booked it the day before so 48 hrs was never possible. Booking.com says that it's Hilton fee and they won't refund it because I went through a third party . I'm pissed . I've spend $25,000 at the Hilton when I lived there for 6 months while I renovated my house and they still won't wave the fee. Shame on you Hilton I'm Ocala. Doesn't seem to have good reviews. Dirty , old and not very friendly front desk. They would even let me pay for the fee with all my points from those 6 months. I used to be a fan of Hilton but not this one read more

We had our class reunion there last weekend. There were between 200 and 250 people there. When our table was called to get our food and they were out! There was still probably 5 tables to go. They started just bringing things out of the kitchen. We were given mashed potatoes, pasta, and salad (which was just lettuce). As people were dancing the dance floor came apart. Women were getting their heels caught in the cracks. They had to get everyone off the floor and come take it up. I expected better service for $150.00 a couple. read more

First I would like to say "don't judge a book by its cover". We booked at this hotel as we are Hilton Diamond members and we are on our way home to Alabama from Orlando. Weather was very bad so we decided not to continue the drive until the next day. When I first saw the hotel it looks very outdated and I thought the interior would be the same. Much to my surprise, the interior is very nice, looks completely renovated and the beds are extremely comfortable! I gave them 4 stars because at check-in as Diamond members we have access to the Executive Lounge. Usually everything in there is free. From 5pm to 7 pm they have drinks and food. We arrived at 5pm so we went upstairs, ate and each had 3 drinks in the span of 2 hours. Much to my surprise, we get a bill at the end for the drinks. I'm in Ocala, Florida, not Miami Beach where they also have the happy hour and drinks were free. So I was a bit disappointed that we weren't advised drinks would have to be paid for. It's not that I'm against paying for my drinks when I go to a bar, but if one of the perks of being a Diamond member is access to happy hour drinks and food then I think they should be free or at least let us know. One last thing, everyone that works here is wonderful and courteous. Even the bartender at the lounge that charged us for the drinks. I'm not blaming anyone, just a miscommunication. I do recommend staying at this Hilton if ever in Ocala. read more

Ocala is slim pickins for hotels, but this is one of the better ones. The place needs an update but has all of the basic amenities. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Cold a/c which is always a plus. The lady at check in was friendly, but did not note my gold status and there was only one free bottle of water in the room. A 100% OK Hotel. The hotel is just off the highway and has a nice sized, safe parking lot that's free. Everyone I met from the front desk to bar to restaurant are extraordinarily friendly. The hotel is older and is in ok shape, but could use a remodel. The room smelled a little off, but not so bad I'd complain. The bed was comfy and the wifi sufficient. The breakfast buffet is not free and is a little overpriced, BUT it includes eggs any way, belgian waffles, and a host of locally sourced, made from scratch jams and honeys. There are lots of stay options in Ocala, most probably about this price and level and I'm not sure I'd definitely stay again but I wouldn't talk anyone going there either. Looking at other reviews that range from 4's to 1's, I'd say both are probably off, it's really a solid 3. read more

The Sunday brunch is so sad! The food was cold and not good at all. They had nothing marked so you knew what you were eating and the selection was poor. They are trying to be fancy but it's not working. The have no pastries at all, only 2 small piles of cheese and salmon that lookers iffy. The omelet station may have been good if the cook (I dare not call him a chef) did not put a ton of oil in the pan and made the omelet greesy mess. The worse is that they had a cheddar beer soup that was left over from the craft beer event the day before. Needless to say I will not go back for brunch...I would have better luck at Golden Corral! read more

Been going there on Friday night for Happy Hour . Music is great and the hotel staff are just the best. Manager Dave, is the best and does his best to accommodate us, which is always 8 to 14 people. Can't say enough good things about this hotel and the hotel staff. read more

Interesting stay at this hotel. We have been Hilton Honors members since 1984 and almost exclusively stay at their hotels. We were shocked to find out this huge hotel (10 floors) has only one set of elevators and one of them was not working! This is an old hotel that has been slightly renovated. The bar area is very small and hot! The chairs are so old that the stuffing is nonexistent. We had a hamburger which was delicious but we went out to eat for breakfast because the buffet was $15 each and we aren't big breakfast eaters. Hilton needs to redecorate this hotel before we would stay there again. read more

Traveled all day and when I arrived that evening, was told by the front desk rep that the hotel was oversold and there were no rooms available! The clerk was indifferent, and even though I had a confirmed reservation, she contended that it was MY fault for not checking in earlier in the day... I will give it 2 stars for the fact that the conference event I went to was organized very well but of course mostly because of the people that are from the conference , and second star goes to that I got a free breakfast with very friendly staff. Now onto the bad, the blonde chubby hair lady was super rude and did not want to really help me at the front desk , no one explained the extra charges they will hold on my card, hotel is outdated , just like the city , and at most compared to a la Quinta inn experience , but the maids were nice. Rooms smelled weird like the floors, not really a Hilton experience ! Tv remote does not work with menus , bathroom so small, light is so dim in the rooms like I'm about to attend a funeral . Keycards have to be inserted 10 times to work for doors. Overall it's maybe just a few steps up from la Quinta inn , only came here for the conference . read more

This review is based on their breakfast. You pay for it - but it's worth every penny. Their coffee is smooth and heavenly. Service is impeccable. Hot buffet and fill menu. Parfait bar, bacon, eggs, waffles... Plenty of delicious and hearty options. I'm staying at the La Quinta next door and breakfast is super disappointing (coffee tastes like broken dreams) and I'm planning to walk across the parking lot and eat here each morning for the remainder of our stay. My husband typically stays here and loves it - but for a large business event, the Quinta was a bit more affordable in terms of booking multiple rooms. I really do like the friendly atmosphere. Southern hospitality? I was greeted from employees in the parking lot who had obviously finished their shift and were heading home, then again in the lobby, and by the different people while dining. Super awesome. I'm thinking there have been some staff changes since people had issues with service here. read more

My family and I stayed here 10 nights for a baseball tournament. Overall, our hotel stay was just OK. The room was nice and spacious, the gym included a lot of equipment, the pool was large and clean, and the service was good; however, there are a couple things that did tend to bug me. The trash cans in the room are very narrow and don't fit much, so if you stay in a hotel as long as we did, the trash cans don't hold squat. Also, from time to time, the tv would freeze for a couple minutes before returning to normal,which was irritating when trying to watch the Olympics. read more

We have stayed at the Hilton in Ocala several times for our travels between Texas and South Florida where we have a condo and would have great reviews for it and the food service in the hotel. There is also a great Mexican restaurant very close that we have grown to like. The staff has been great and the hotel is very well organized and clean. We were scheduled to stay there on Monday, March 16th for a trip back to Texas. Being a Monday, we did not have access to a physician for advice until that morning over the weekend. We were advised that having certain medical conditions and being above 70 we should not travel and stay in hotels. (Especially with folks from effected areas in the Northeast traveling south to escape.) If we needed to travel it should be on one straight shot avoiding personal contacts. Receiving that information, we tried to cancel the reservation. The web would not allow that since it was within the 24 hour limit for cancellation. We did try their Virus link on the app and felt surely they would accept our cancellation. They did not. Frankly, loosing nearly 200 dollars is better than exposing ouselves to hotel where people that are infected might stay there anyway to avoid the charge. Just disappointed. Even more now since as a government we are going to help the hotel industry. read more

We spent 1 night at this Hilton while on a road trip. It had a very nice lobby and restaurant where we had breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and clean and was located on the Executive Level where we had access to drinks and light bites. The only problem we had was finding the hotel, even with our GPS, only because it doesn't sit right on the street, so we weren't sure exactly where to turn. But we ended up turning at the correct spot. Nice place after a long drive. read more

We went to the Hilton for Christmas buffet this year per my Dad's request. He has been many years and was pleased. Different year, different story! Our server was amazing! The Christmas decorations were beautiful....as for the buffet...what food that was available was good, it was just very sparce. No buns/bread to be found. There were many empty bowls on the buffet. We had to ask many times if items were going to be replaced. The dessert table looked like the seating prior to our time cleared it out, plus we had to search for plates. The men's bathroom was absolutely nasty. The cost of this buffet was extremely ridiculous for what was offered!! It was not worth what we paid. So disappointing!! I am so glad we didn't bring guest as I would of been embarrassed. It is a good thing we were with good company because the Hilton was a huge disappointment. Well I just checked in here . So far not good . My first room the refrigerator was not working and had dried spilled food in it . I called the front desk and they sent repair men to the room they brought a big refrigerator to the room . An hour and a half later that refrigerator was not getting cold and also did not work the bathroom has mold and rust . The front desk manager named Rafael was rude and gave me another room as you'll see in the pics the door to the room has recently been pried open and not fixed as it's missing wood and it looks like the police had to break in for a felony. The new room refrigerator and work. They brought another refrigerator. And I'm not sure that one's working out as it has not been long enough. I was told that the refrigerators from the fifth floor down are not refrigerators but coolers this was not advertised on the website. I also found out that this is not A Hilton hotel I was unaware that help and actually franchises out hotels and this is privately owned it's quite clear that they don't put any money into it I paid for an upgraded breakfast buffet so I will keep everybody a price to how bad it is as now I am seeing reviews that state that the breakfasts are horrible here please see the pics read more

I am very disappointed in this hotel for many reasons. The first day we arrived the internet goes down and was out for 2 days, then on for a bit and then off again. It is very difficult to work without access to email. I had to go to another hotel and sit in the lobby to do my work. The second day we find out that they are working on the roof from 9-5 every day. So when not working there is no peace in the room to read. Again, I end up in the lobby. Also, the hot tub is not working so I can't even relax there. This is not the level of service I expect for a Hilton, as I can move next door to another hotel, cheaper rate, free internet (which costs $4.95) and a hot tub that works. I would have left but we have a group of us here and it was too inconvenient. I will certainly not return here next time and I am deeply disappointed in what I paid for such low quality. The staff has been the only bright light here. read more

The hotel is disappointing for a Hilton. The rooms were decent, water pressure is really low, you can hear everything outside and next to your room. I called the front desk for something which never came and when I called back they had forgotten about it however overall it's okay and is clean, girls at the front desk were really nice and very helpful for the most part. read more

I was traveling with my family on the way to Sanibel Island in FL. Ocala seemed like a good stopping point and the Hilton seemed like a quality hotel. I was not expecting to be so blown away by the service and how much fun the hotel was. The front desk was gracious and knowledgeable. They gave my daughter special horse cookies and the let us go feed and pet their horse Buddy! My daughter is still asking about "her friend" Buddy. We may be forced to adopt him. Next time, we will definitely schedule our trip to spend more time at the Hilton Ocala! read more
