I initially enjoyed my stay, the hotel was clean and staff members were nice. The room was clean and the only thing that was minor was that the makeup mirror on the bathroom wall looking like it was going to fall off and the light switch attached to it did not work. The self parking was okay. We checked in before finding parking and we used the room key to enter the parking lot instead of paying for parking. The elevators were pretty cool and unique as it's a digital tablet where you can preselect which floor you need to go to before entering the elevator. This is where things start to go down hill for me... I was woken up around 3am from a lot of people in the hallway talking. Sounded like they were going up and down the hallway. Not sure that the noise was for but it was going on for about 30 minutes. I was woken up again around 4am but people banging on a door nearby for 15 minutes. And to think that was the last of it, I was woke up AGAIN at 5am with continuous knocking and opening/closing of doors for about 30 minutes. Very unfortunate that occurred throughout the night but definitely ruined my experience here as I woke up with a headache due to lack of sleep. Not sure if I'd want to come back again. read more

I'm glad this past visit was not my first visit to this hotel. If it had been, I probably would not return. Because I've stayed here before, I can tell that the room I had this time was not updated like the rooms I've had in the past. In the past, I had booked through a third-party like Expedia, but this time I booked through my Hilton Honors account. Yet my experience was not as good as I've had before. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at noon, and our room was already available. We were given our keys and parked the car. After bringing our luggage upstairs, we realized that our key cards didn't work. As I was on my way down to the lobby, there was a maintenance person in the hallway who assisted us. Turns out, the battery in the key reader on the door was dead. He was able to get us in and replace the battery. It was lucky that he was there and he was very helpful. Inside, the bathroom was not what I was used to. We were not given soap, and were given fewer towels than people on the reservation. Unfortunately, we didn't notice that until the next morning because we were only there to drop off our stuff and leave again until coming back to go to sleep. The shower had horrible water pressure, it was difficult to rinse shampoo out of our hair. It also ranged from scalding hot to freezing cold without even moving the handle, so it was difficult to find the right position, especially for the kids. There were no outlets available anywhere on the nightstand. No USB or traditional outlets at all. In order to plug something in, I had to move the nightstand and unplugged the lamp. We also had an issue where there was a party going on a couple doors down from us. The noise didn't start until after we were already in bed, but the bass was thumping through the walls. None of us felt comfortable stepping out into the hallway in our pajamas to locate it, so it went on for a couple of hours before I finally gave up and opened the door. It just so happened that a hotel employee was on his way down the hall and he was able to shut it down. But then we had loud voices coming down the hallway and slamming doors around us for a little while. I haven't had an experience like that at this hotel before, so hopefully it was just a fluke. The employees were all pleasant and the stay was OK otherwise, but definitely unimpressive. Since I know the hotel can do better, I may give it another shot. read more

Garage parking $45 per night. Needs keycard to enter and exit. A lot of parking spots. Walked to the front desk, the lady was nice, smooth and easy check in. Handed me my keycards. I was surprised that she didn't tell me anything about the hotel? Fitness area? Restaurant or bar information? What floor is the pool? Anything about breakfast? Nothing. After checking out our room, I came back to the lobby area and ask concierge, where's the ice machine/pool/gym. It's on the 3rd floor, the pool is inside the gym, on the rooftop. There's a pool and jacuzzi. Hours are 10am to 10pm. Our room was nice. The bed and pillows was comfortable. The bathroom was okay. The main shower head wasn't that great, but I liked how there was a smaller detachable shower head. It made it easier for my 8 year old to shower by herself. The toilet paper was also in a weird place where you have to twist backwards to reach. We were on the 8th floor, not much scenery. There's 3 elevators. The location was nice. Staff was good. We walked to Christmas In The Park. Overall, an okay decent stay for one night. read more

One of the worst Hilton's I'd say! Stayed here last month for 2 days for an official trip. The parking is a mess. They do not have valet and you literally park around the building and take the elevator and walk through the convention center to get to the reception. So terrible! Now we were here the week before Christmas and all they had was one nasty Christmas tree throughout the whole hotel. I had to literally ask the folks at the reception desk if they play any holiday music at all. There were a couple of other incidents during the stay but overall this was a forgettable experience and we will definitely not be coming back to this hotel again. read more

I was in town for one night. I will say I was initially impressed with the lobby, it was very nice and modern. The staff seemed friendly, but I was a guest of a guest, so I wasn't the one checking in and talking to the staff. The room was standard, two queens. It was clean and nothing stood out. The bathroom, was a bit different, some parts of the shower looked to be falling apart. Also we could not figure out the hot and cold water to save our life, there was no cold water at all. Some might say, ok what's the problem? The problem was that the water was either off or scalding hot. No in between. They didn't have enough rooms for the reservations so they shuttled us off to hotels away from the convention center. Odd situation though...around 1:45 in the morning, the water was turned off and power was out for some reason. There was no water from the sink faucet. The light in the bathroom and the light near the front door wouldn't turn on. This made going to the restroom quite difficult in the middle of the night. At some point later, the lights came back on and water was back on, but it still made for an annoying experience. The dual shower head was nice and water pressure was pretty good for a hotel. First, this is close to the airport and in a convenient location to fwy. Now, to get here, unlike other hotels, you cannot leave your car at the front to checkin unless you do street parking. If you are planning to stay overnight and more at peace for safety and car space, head to San Carlos Street and you'll see the entrance to the hotel parking. Do not be confused by Almaden parking entry ways unless you're attending the conference center side. The hotel shares parking but there are bars/poles to block non-hotel visitors on their side of parking. There is no valet, it's all self parking. Be careful tho, on your way to the entrance underground, it shares with the delivery area so trucks can be there. It's a little walk from the elevator to the hotel lobby. Signs are small and not convenient but the hallway is big so there's room to wander. Each elevator has a digital pad, you select the floor you're going and it'll head straight there. If you have a sudden decision change while inside of the elevator, there's no way to change floors unless you step out on your initial floor entered then select on the keypad again. Fitness center is at the third floor. Again, signs are not really clear nor visible but it was clean. Some were broken/ out of order but it's not crowded. Housekeeping comes daily unless you put the do not disturb sign on your door or if you request for none during your stay. read more

I am a Hilton Honors member for over 20 years. Hilton has always been a great stay. This Hotel does not measure up as a Hilton. My wife who is 69 years old was waiting outside the convention center for my daughter to finish her training for a convention starting on Monday morning. My wife needed to use the facilities She walked into the Hilton where she is an honors member. And asked to use the facility's She was refused by the front desk. Even after she informed them of her status with Hilton. In the area of the convention center there are no public restrooms. At 69 waiting is not a very comfortable option. The hotels response was curt and rude. Only registered guests can use the facilities she was informed. My wife was visibly distressed as she really needed to go. This place should be shut down. It's not a Hilton hotel. The interesting thing is she walked to the Marriot next door. They not only welcomed her They even gave her a bottle of water. If you're coming to San Jose for a convention, do yourself a favor and book with the Marriot. read more

Very well lit....some of the staff at the desk were a little standoffish.....also, they have a BS early checkin charge of $50 though they had rooms ready...as a Silver WHO WILL BE A DIAMOND BY YEAR END, I found that to be cheap and petty but i had no options cause I didn't have a vehicle.....also they have a very high tech elevator which they don't give you instructions on how it works so after about 10 minutes I figured it out...they also have a self checkout commissary'....thats not too big an issue but I swear it was on a dial up connection...it's literally 2-3 minutes of waiting for it to complete the checkout and give you a receipt. read more

Decent room, loud shower, exceptional customer service! I came here for a conference and had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights. The food at the conference was fair. Not delicious and not nasty. The servers were on point for the most part but gave one of our attendees a "to-go" box, but did not allow me to have one for reasons that were not valid. My room was decent overall. The first night I was freezing because the heater did not work. The next night is where the exceptional service came in. I walked down to the lobby to get some water and decided to talk to the front desk about my heater. To my surprise, there was an engineer on duty who was able to come and fix the heater. I had a warm night and enjoyed my stay! The shower was amazing but very loud. The temperature was just right but I just had to turn the knob all the way tight to stop the water from coming out. Standard Hilton property connected to the convention center. Not the newest but super convenient location. Digital keys are used and they're easy to use on your phone. As with anything on your phone, make sure you have enough of a charge at the end of the evening. I watched a woman struggle with her phone before heading down to the lobby. Housekeeping is not daily but they do a decent job. Everything was stocked. My chief complaint is that the bed is not comfortable at all. There's so support and you end up sinking into a well. The fluffy pillows are also too soft. There's a onsite bar and restaurant that serves a limited menu. It was fairly good. read more

First stay was this weekend for a convention called FanimeCon. Paul was excellent helping us checking in. The staff here are nice and friendly. The water in the bathtub didn't drained so I had to call for someone to come fix it. The wall near the bathtub looks like it have water damage. The toilet paper holder sucks because the toilet paper roll actually fell out and I had to put it back. Every time I use the heater has weird smell in the room like something is burning. Each day of my stay I told the front desk to have my room clean but the one thing they didn't do is chang the bed sheets when it's clearly dirty from my baby spilling food. Looks like the housekeeper rush on cleaning the room. My second day stay I went swimming. They have a small 3 1/2 feet pool and a hot tub. I think it's weird how I had to walk into the gym just to get to the pool. I went swimming around 10 am and around 11 am my friend said the water is out so we stayed in the hot tub until 12 PM. After that I went to the front desk and ask if there's anywhere I can go to show and the manger said sorry. I asked if there's anything he can do like a discount or som or something. He said they are working on getting the water back and he said I can give you some water bottles to rinsed off. Went back to the room and the water was on around 12:20 PM. The parking garage is on the side of the hotel on San Carlos St. Which made me confused and accidentally went into the Convention Center parking lot and had to ask my friend where to go. read more

I enjoy my stay at this hotel. It's very clean and quiet. It seem like all the other guest were nice and enjoying the space. Check in was easy and the staff was nice. This hotel adjacent to the convention center so the parking lot is massive and the transition from the parking garage to the actual hotel. It's a little bit of a track however when you pull into the hotel, check in and get your room key and all that and then go to the garage. It's probably the best way to do that Especially if you need a luggage cart. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and venues and I was actually staying there and evening so that I can attend a comedy show at the Civic. It was the best location for that. We ate at the restaurant that's in the hotel And enjoyed our dinner. It was plentiful and the hotel staff at the restaurant was very helpful and accommodating. The only drawback is that there are no microwaves in the room and when looking for a microwave, there's only one on the third floor, which was not helpful. read more

First off let me say a big thank you to Hilton for accommodating my partner and I's stay this past weekend! When we arrived on our check in for 4pm, the desk staff was super helpful, friendly, and so welcoming! I believe Roger had checked us in that day, and I already chose my room on the 5th floor though the Hilton app, however Roger also asked if we'd like to go on higher floor so he gave us the 8th! He made our stay super welcoming, and had great hospitality within our small encounter. The hotel is recently remodeled and it is SO nice! Near the check-in desk, there is a small little store that is filled with lots of snacks + drinks to your liking! The elevators are also super convenient and high-end technology. All you have to do is press your floor number on the tablet and it will tell you which A/B/C elevator to hop on. Hardly had to bump into anyone in the elevators and super quick trips. Our room was lovely, spacious and super clean. There was a fridge, TV, great closet space! However no microwave, so plan accordingly if you will need one. The shower also had two shower heads which was so convenient and the temperature/pressure felt super nice! The windows of the room also open juuuust a tiny bit, perfect if you need fresh air. Lots of USB areas to charge your devices and various lighting where the lamps are dimmable. I'd give this hotel 5/5. Out of all the Hiltons I've visited, this trip has been the most welcoming and the staff are so so kind. We also made use of the parking as well and never had trouble finding parking in the garage at all, if anything we always found a spot so close to the elevators! It's perfect to stay if you want a weekend to visit downtown, a staycation, or to explore SJ! Overall a good stay. I stayed for 3 nights for a work trip. The room was nice, clean and the bed is very comfortable. Housekeeping came everyday to tidy up but would never leave an extra roll of toilet paper. I found that annoying. My roll was getting low, so you'd think they would leave an extra one. I saw them in the hallway and had to ask for one. It's the little things. Attention to detail. The internet was out the last day and the day of leaving. Which, not their fault, but super inconvenient as I had work emails to send. Not having Internet set me back with my work. The food at the restaurant was good. The gift shop needs improvement. No personal items available. It would be nice to have toiletries incase you forgot something. I needed a usb-c charger and they didn't have one. This is especially important because there isn't a drug store nearby. read more

If you have young children stay elsewhere. This is the least family friendly Hilton property I have ever stayed at, most hotel staff is passive aggressive and rude. Rented their biggest suite while here on work with family (wife, infant, and two year old), while at the conference center all day my wife was told she would need to order from the restaurant and pick it up as they do not offer room service (but the phone has the button for food service). She chose to Uber Eats food to the room, but the Hotel Management has a policy that food couriers cannot deliver food to the room (which they do not inform you of or have signs near the table indicating a drop off location). The courier had to leave it on the table in the lobby and my wife had to go down and pick it up with the two little ones. I am a Diamond member who works on the road, staying between 225 and 250 nights a year at Hilton properties, and this was a shock. Plus the pool is about the size of a Ford F-350 truck. Hotel would be fine if you are traveling without a family. read more

I can't tell you how many minutes and hours I've spent trying to get in touch with them even after our stay because we were double charged for the entire stay. The restaurant, Secco sucks! I had what I thought was a package for breakfast to be included. However, I've been charged the full amount. I don't know what the point is in having a special "breakfast" incentive that is meaningless. I do not recommend. Nor will I ever go back to the Hilton in any city or state. read more

I wish I could rate them a 6/5 stars!! I stayed here from September 5th - 7th for the Roblox Developer Conference, and it was also my partner's birthday during our visit. Roger and Urvashi went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and really something special. Urvashi and Roger first helped us fix my reservations. I found out that one of my two reservations was booked under the wrong rate, and she was easily able to fix that for us. She then got her team together and surprised us with a delightful arrangement of fruit dipped in chocolate, along with wine and sparkling water, all delivered to our room for my partner's birthday! The very thoughtful touch was completed with a lovely "Happy Birthday" card signed by the team. (Thank you so much to the team for this too! It made his day and he absolutely loved it!! ) To also quickly add: We stayed in an Executive Suite, which was spacious, well-maintained, and offered a phenomenal view. TLDR: You could stay somewhere way better but you could also stay somewhere way worse. I was here for a work trip and coworkers have stayed at this Hilton before. The lobby is huge and open with the restaurant in the middle. The rooms are pretty good size and so is the bathroom. I will say it is next to the light rail so if your room faces it and you have windows open you will hear the chime all the time. While on my trip here I had two issues and then I had an issue with my bill after the fact. My wife unexpectedly joined me on this trip so I had to go to the front desk and get a key card for her (I had digital). At no point did the front desk ask us to put her name down or anything and we had no issues. Next day I left for work and she stayed in the hotel room and ordered food. They wouldn't let the food delivery person go up to her so she came down. She accidentally left the key card in the room and had to go to the front desk. The lady at the front never once looked up at her once and kept talking to her while working on the computer and asked her inappropriate/not needed questions. My wife has worked in hotels before and understood the security concerns but the security guard was right there and was going to walk her up anyways. Also, the lady stated that she needed to be on the reservation which is fine but also frustrating that the person who I checked in with didn't even say anything. Second issue was the hot water. The first day I took a shower I had lukewarm at best. When I got back from work I asked front desk about it and they said they'd send maintenance. Maintenance came and turned on the water, waited a few seconds where it started to get to the lukewarm part and then said hot water is coming now you should be good and left. I put my hand in and it still wasn't getting warm. I went back outside and told him and his response was it can only get to 120 degrees in the state of California. Well sir this isn't even getting to 100. So for the next 3 days I had to take cold showers and it wasn't until my second to last day that my shower actually got hot. To be treated like an idiot is where my line gets drawn. Lastly, when I got home my bill included an extra charge of ~$136. I had to call corporate 3 times (which they didn't help) and the hotel itself twice to finally talk to someone who changed it. They never actually gave me an explanation as to why only saying that I booked it for 1 person and brough another person with me, to which I stated having a second person is free since I'm a member and he stated, "I'm not stating that is the reason, just that that could be what caused it"...I have no idea what that means and I can only assume that the lady at the front desk then charged me extra for no reason. I come to San Jose a lot throughout the year and so do my coworkers, I will try in my power to never stay at this Hilton again however if my coworkers want to stay here then it is what it is, just wouldn't be my first, second or third choice. read more

The Hilton San Jose has an unbeatable location. Located in downtown San Jose, this hotel connects directly to the San Jose Convention Center, making it extremely convenient for convention goers. Furthermore, the hotel is situated within walking distance of restaurants and public transit. The San Jose airport is only a 10-minute drive away. The rooms are spacious. The sofa has a convertible bed, making it nice for families or groups of close friends looking to share a room. The bathrooms are elegant, but the positioning of the toilet paper holder makes for a very awkward (and sometimes difficult) reach when sitting on the toilet. There are no vent switches in the bathrooms so be prepared to let everyone else in the hotel room hear your bowel movements. What I find utterly abysmal at this hotel is the unresponsive customer service. I tried to contact the hotel staff through the Hilton app and no one responded. I tried texting the staff via the hotel's texting number and no one responded. I called over the phone and no one responded. Honestly, if there was some kind of impending danger that was about to imperil the building, none of the staff would know because it's impossible to communicate with any of them unless you visit them in-person at the front desk. read more

I loved my stay at Hilton San José for 2 nights. There is nothing the picky in me could complain about. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, views to the cathedral and some big buildings, bathroom perfect, shower hot, towels fluffy. Perfect for a business trip. A plus for me now that I am a Pelotón fan is when i found out they have 2 Pelotón bikes at the gym. The restaurant Secco was great for breakfast and night drinks and service was great. Dismal. let me start by saying that I researched hotels in San Jose for a good week reading all of the reviews looking at the pictures trying to figure out the distance from different things and I did not book the Hilton without due diligence. So imagine my utter disappointment when we arrived after a 9 hour drive and every-single-aspect of the experience was awful! we pulled in in front of the hotel and I went in to see about checking in my confusion about the online process of choosing your own room... I was told it really didn't matter. They were all the same so I picked a room on the 16th floor. I went through a bit of a kerfuffle because the name on my drivers license and the name of my credit card are slightly different due to my marriage name change. I guess this is a new policy. I've never had a problem with this before, but once we got that straightened out, there was no offer of any kind of help up to the room. we had to park in the underground garage and bring our bags up through ( a positively grimy) basement hallway and elevator, through an adjoining lobby through the whole lobby of the hotel to the bank of elevators that would go upstairs. When we got up to our floor, it was grim. dirty blue grey carpet and a series of beat up grey fire doors interspersed with the occasional dim light bulb. We had no problems with the room key so that's a plus and then we entered the room and I sort of wished we stayed in the hallway. A sad little rectangle reminiscent of old highway motels. The blue grey color scheme continues uninterrupted throughout this place. Nothing to brighten up or add personality save for a Marshall clearance bin print above the toilet. Then the real joy began. It was so dirty! Old dirt like stains and worn out carpet but also recent guest remnants like fingerprints on the mirrors, hair in the sink and leftover sticky rings from glasses or cans on the table! The beds had been made so some sort of 'housekeeping' had happened... i sat down on the chair, the only piece of furniture in the room outside of the bed and just looked around in dismay. That's when I noticed there weren't even bedskirts on the beds just some kind of gray sackcloth and clamps around the boxspring. We were so tired from the drive, two exhausted kids with me and I couldn't imagine taking on the front desk at this point, so I put a blanket over the bed and let the kids go to sleep and passed myself. The next day we were due at our appointment at 6 AM so I called from there spoke to the front desk and told them we were checking out early.. explained, my dissatisfaction explained that the room hadn't been cleaned. I was told I would still have to pay a $100 penalty for an early check out! I understand these policies and understand why they exist but in this case, I don't believe we should've had to pay a penalty because they didn't live up to their end of the bargain, which is to provide a clean room. All in all ... it cost $435 with parking and taxes to be in this hellhole for less than eight hours! Considering staying in this hotel??? Please don't. I highly advise you to look somewhere... Okay location. One elevator is always broken. Hotel bar says closed but serves beer and wine only. Rooms don't get cold. Staff is nice enough. Shouldn't be a Hilton. read more
