Original review: I did not ultimately choose to take my business to this company. The good: the speed with how quickly they responded to my inquiry and answered questions I had. The bad: my inquiry was made 2/2/19, the same day an ad/coupon ran in the Charlotte Observer that offered free labor expiring in January. Although we were only 2 days into February, and the ad ran in February, they would not honor the coupon. Charlotte Observer messed up, but I feel they should have honored for a potential customer who inquired on the day that the coupon ran and was only 2 days beyond their planned expiration date. The lady at the store was dismissive and treated us like folks who walked in by mistake. From the moment we walked in (no hello, no greeting, just a blank and cold stare) to her assuming right off the bat that we wanted premade drapes ("we don't sell premade drapes"), it was a case study in how to NOT treat customers. It took us having to literally prove to her with pictures of our windows that we were seriously in the market for drapes. She was not willing to share even basic information like the price range for different fabric options nor was she willing to even talk about the types of options available. Her tone, tenor and attitude clearly said "I don't care for you". It was only after we told her the color of our walls by sharing the Sherwin Williams color code / name did she realize we weren't turnips that fell off the back of a truck. Up until that point she was dismissive to say the least. Even assuming we were just browsing, imagine if she had presented the brand, the store and the offerings in a positive and vibrant manner. In today's digital first world, why would you ignore and insult customers who drive across town and walk into your store? It was very clear that we were not welcome and she made no attempt to even mask it. Her loss will be another store's gain! Stay away from this store unless you like to be treated like yesterday's bread. To the owners: I hope you recognize and respect that customers come in as many shades as your fabric display!

However, we had dining room chairs that were part of an antique set that were in the original fabrics and literally, had no foam. Midas Fabrics was lovely to work with and we now have beautiful and comfortable chairs to enjoy holiday meals on. We also had a beloved oversized chair and ottoman that we in need of love. We had searched for a replacement chair and just could not find one that we loved as much as the one we had. So off to Midas we went and once again, the project was an overwhelming success! We love the look and refresh of it and are so happy with the work. I am now looking around to see what else I might possibly need done!! LOL!!! Would recommend Midas Fabric to anyone!

I am very satisfied with the service that I received at Carolina Upholstery. I contacted the…read morebusiness via Yelp and promptly received a reply providing overview of rates and an offer to make an appointment. I took.some of the furniture with me to be assessed. I will say the cost was very expensive (to me), but this is not a gripe considering I have never had upholstery done before. Justin (owner) was very nice during the consultation and straightforward. He showed me the fabric samples , explained the price ranges and allowed me to select what I wanted without attempting the least bit of sway towards fabric that were not within my $$ range. I felt very at ease during the selection process. There is a wide variety of fabrics to choose from, but if you have a price range/fabric type it can be easily narrowed down. Thankfully, it did not take me long to decide on what I wanted. A deposit is required to make the appointment for service (after the consultation). There was a wait period of approximately 6 weeks from my consult to drop the furniture (1 accent chair + 4 dining) off for service due to there being no appointments available, which was no issue for me. He estimated that he would have my furniture 1-2 weeks. One week later all of my pieces were ready and looking gorgeous! My large accent chair had some slight instability with one of the legs which Justin had noticed during the consultation. He had planned to repair without extra charge. However, within a few days of having the chair he called and told me that the instability wasn't quite what he'd expected and that it would be $45 additional to repair. I asked him if he was 100% certain this would resolve it and he answered honestly, telling me that he was only 5% certain. I definitely appreciated his honesty and declined to have that part repaired. All of the pieces that I had upholstered were secondhand pieces to me. Therefore I do not know the original monetary values. However, getting this makeover for the pieces has added value & done a lot for the aesthetics of my home. I'm very glad that I did it. If I ever decide to get anything reupholstered again or know of anyone seeking this type of service I would undoubtedly use again/recommend Carolina Upholstery.

I was able to arrange it all by text, got my fabric, had it picked up, got notified of the invoice and paid it two weeks later - then crickets. I kept trying to contact the business for weeks with no response until I posted on their Facebook page and their former social media manager contacted me to say the owner had died! She was able to give me contact info for the family and the owner's daughter very kindly arranged delivery. Very sad. I appreciated that the family were so helpful during their time of loss.
