If you're wandering around Old San Juan sweating through your 10,000th step of the day, do yourself a favor and stop into Himalayan Ice Company. First--rolled ice cream is basically edible entertainment. I stood there way longer than necessary watching them flatten, scrape, and roll it like I had nowhere else to be. It's giving Food Network... but you get to eat the finale. The flavors? BANGING. Super creamy, fresh, and not overly sweet--which means you can actually finish it without feeling like you need to lie down immediately after. Big win. The vibe is adorable--very vintage, colorful, and just a fun little spot to duck into and cool off. Definitely one of those places you end up taking pictures in without planning to. Service was adequate--nothing over-the-top, but they kept things moving and got us through the line without any issues, even when it was busy. Place looked clean, which matters when people are basically performing dairy gymnastics in front of you. Overall: great treat, fun experience, and absolutely worth the stop. Would I go back? Yes--for the ice cream... and to watch the rolling again like it's my new personality. read more

Anita Gelato had a ridiculous line out the door, so we found this as an alternative to try to cool off from the heat. The wait wasn't too long, but the process of making one of these ice sheets takes a good 5 minutes, so there's some patience involved as they only took one order at a time. We did a custom roll ($10) with Oreo, coconut, and pineapple. It somehow ended up tasting like red bean, which I'm not complaining! Very refreshing and enjoyed every bite of it. read more

Cool way of doing natural rolled ice cream in front of you. An ice tray piece maybe 12" diameter where ingredients are placed on top & mixed. There $9 in about 6" deep, wide cup. Place located in old San Juan, P R where most of the narrow streets have ancient paver roads many of the buildings are from the 18th & 19th century. Parking is on 1 way street, lots of people walking was during spring break. Flight from South FL about 2 1/4 hours. 1 service person operation was good, no a/c. read more

This is a great ice cream place! The ice cream is hand rolled with all the ingredients add it in when you order. Everything is made to order and fresh. The menu is very creative and they have several items that would make anybody happy. I had the Tesla Rolls which were amazing, With peanut butter ice cream and chocolate chip ice cream plus whipped cream on top and caramel sauce. Yum! We definitely forgot about our diet today. My wife has the Minted. It was mint chocolate chip and whipped cream. Very nice. It takes a while to get your order but then again everything is made by hand, so that is to be expected. I split the TESLA roll, peanut butter and chocolate chip ice cream with caramel dripping, sliced almonds and whipped cream. They make each order by hand and the ice cream and mixture is fluffy and very flavorful. It's a hit. You will wait a bit but it's worth it. read more

I totally don't get the hype. We came in around midday and the place was relatively busy, with several empty tables and a two person line--they'd clearly had the same idea we did. We placed our order and sat down and waited. And waited. And waited more. In total we waited over half an hour for ice cream. The ice cream itself was nice--fluffy and airy and obviously high quality, but was lacking a lot of flavor outside of milk which was a bummer. Added on to that, when you order one of their creations (we got piña colada) they load it up with whipped cream so you can't even see the rolled effect. Watching them freeze the ice cream on the anti-griddle was cool, and I think my young cousins would have loved it, but I could never have kept them occupied for half an hour. It was good, but certainly not worth the long wait and high price tag. read more

AHA!!!!! We made it in RIGHT before they closed! It worked out because most of the time I saw a line in this place! We popped in and were probably about the 3rd person in line and it took a short time to actually get the order complete and into our mouthes. We ordered the Sherpa Roll. I don't quite remember what was in it, BUT I know I wouldn't order that again! it was super heavy with the chocolate syrup and that killed it! The ice cream itself was phenomenal, but AT ALL COSTS! Avoid the syrupy add ons. Also, don't forget about the yelp check in offer of a free topping. read more

First I have to say how in the world was this place empty on such a hot day, my first time in Puerto Rico , being half Dominican and Puerto Rican, I was super excited to try all the ice cream places I could try. We came here because ice cream rolls is something we have in New York and wanted to compare them. The staff was two young ladies and very very friendly. After going over the options, I decided on a custom roll, which contained Oreo, banana, and caramel. My fiancé got the piña colada rolls. The flavor was amazing on both of them. And the inside of the ice cream shop had AC saving the ice cream from melting. Honestly if you are in old San Juan, you should definitely check this place out. You can walk two blocks up and probably catch people playing music in this small circle. It's worth every bite. read more

The ice cream was absolutely delicious. It's located in viejo San Juan so a great place to go cool off during a hot day! Would have given this place 5 stars if they hadn't taken over 45 minutes to serve my friends and I. They had forgotten my friend's order which caused the wait to be even longer. Such a cute little spot in Viejo San Juan. They have a series of flavors to choose from and they also serve coffee. Once you choose your flavor and toppings she spreads the ice cream until it freezes and rolls it, tops it and done! The place is small so expect a lot of people within it and there is not that much seating, you may have to eat outside or standing up. Overall, this is a unique experience for all ages. read more

To get your ice cream at this place, you need to be extremely patient. It takes over 45 minutes during rush hour to get your ice cream. So if you are in the area and hangry (like I was), try finding a better place to get quick sugar rush! The experience is fun but boring when you have to wait for 45 minutes. The red wedding ice cream was very average, tasted more like a strawberry ice cream. read more

The ice cream rolls are unique and it's all hand made right in front of you. I had the berry and it was really flavorful. All the fruit they put in the ice cream rolls is also fresh. But the biggest issue I had with this place is it took 35 minutes to get my dish. It's also pricey as it cost me $7.80. If it's not busy and you have a ton of time I'd say try it just because of the uniqueness of the product. If it is even mildly busy keep walking. read more

Place would be so great... if they had napkins. A family with small children ordered ice cream and had a tiny spill on them, asked for napkins and the staff said they had none.... We asked for the staff to wipe our table several times (with a dish cloth from behind the counter) but they never ever came.. So I pulled out some old napkins from the bottom of my bag to wipe my table and then gave some to desperate family in need of cleaning up their kids faces because this facility had none! The girls behind the counter never went next door or to any other place near by to grab napkins. Place was clean and temperature was chilled just enough for our hot day! Try the tart flavor mixed with their low fat peanut butter flavor!!! It's always clean here, they have a nice clean bathroom and plenty of beverages and all types of coffees and healthy smoothies. They even have a tiki hut with açaí fruit bowls with all kinds of healthy toppings. . Come for breakfast (open at 8 AM ) for a croissant & , a FroYo with toppings for lunch or as I just did having a big bowl of peanut butter yogurt for dinner for 12 bucks . I Love the adorable hipster guys that work here they look like surfers! And they are very helpful and kind. They work hard and love what they do...and it shows! This is my favorite yogurt spot on the entire island. It's in a beautiful part of old San Juan next to the famous theatre known as "Teatro Tapia". Happy to support this spot!

The taste did not disappoint--peanut butter frozen yogurt with cookie dough (there is no other topping for fro yo, really) was quite good though of course the price ounce was significantly higher than it was when I visited last. Unfortunately the staff was not nearly as enthusiastic as I was about my return, which harshed my buzz a bit and I decided to walk and eat as their indifference to my presence was a bit of a downer. Fro yo was still good, though!

I read the nutritional info they have on a binder and all the frozen yogurts are healthy & probiotic. they have low or non fat (but flavorfull) frozen yogurts such as Tahitian Vanilla, Strawberry sensation (and i unsually dont even like strawberry but this is my favorite), Chocolate, Birthday cake, and they usually change flavors every now and then to keep things exciting: i've already tasted the expresso (coffee flavored) and Sea salt caramel pretzel (yeah i know, at first it might sound wierd, but they are a great surprise for your taste buds!! ) The place is trendy with vibrant colors, music, nice envirnment , friendly staff, and with great choice of toppings . They did not have physical menus, had QR codes to scan (I think maybe if you ask them, they might have few physical ones). To start, we didn't order any drinks/alcoholic beverages that morning but they have an extensive list of beverages, cocktails, coffees, juices, wines, etc. to do so, so I wouldn't discourage trying them at all. For food, we ordered the French Mallorca sandwich and the Omelette w/ bacon, potatoes, & toast. Off the bat, it was clear that the French Mallorca was a very popular choice, that sandwich was just good, period (Rating: 8.7/10), soft bread w/ crispy edges, dipping in the syrup was a requirement for this sandwich. On the other hand, the omelette with potatoes, bacon, toast weren't as good. I asked for vegetables cooked into the omelette but it looks like they didn't really cook them down. Potatoes were very good though, seasoned well, honestly carried the meal along with the crispy thick cut bacon (Rating: 6.1/10). I think I really ordered it just as a healthy option, I next time would order something else because they still do have a lot of good option on that menu that I didn't take advantage of. Overall, the service was amazing, very hospitable from the host all the way down to our server. We even had the chance to enjoy live music as a band came in and performed temporarily during our meal.
