Lunch specials

Very good food. Naan was crispy but also chewy. The shrimp curry I got was fantastic. Came during lunch time, so there weren't many people around. We both got lunch specials

Lamb-do-pyaza ($20) lamb meat cooked with onions, bell pepper and spices. Not good

Ordered takeout based on reviews. Very disappointed. Pickup service was prompt and the restaurant has good decor and ambience. There is street parking in front, but can be pretty busy most part of the day. Food order fell short and did not taste good even though they are priced bit higher than most restaurants around. Plain naan ($4) & Tandoori roti ($6) were both partially cooked and tasted sour, not good overall. Lamb-do-pyaza ($20) lamb meat cooked with onions, bell pepper and spices was jacked up with chilli powder to make it spicy and lacked flavor. The onions tasted a bit stale too.

The momos are outrageously delicious!!!! Hot and perfect, and the sauce is amazing. BUT...$15 for 8??? That's $2 for a DUMPLING!!!! Biden's economy or no, I probably won't order from here again. Unless you bring down the prices. The aloo gobi was $18 and terrible! And potatoes and cauliflower is usually my favorite!!!! Even the vegetarian samosas, which are impossible to mess up, had a thick skin which had way too much dough. I wanted to cry. $58.15...completely unbelievable. Almost $60 for a subpar meal. Please. Charge $10-12 for the momos. And the rest?!?! I'm Crying. Bring back deflation. This inflation is killing me. What happened to restaurants where entrees were $8?!?!? Momos = 5 stars but with the price, 4 stars The rest of the meal 3 stars. Maybe even 2 stars. Please America. I'm tired.

Yummy chicken tikka masala with basmati rice.

I come here a lot. They have an extremely diverse menu that accommodates any eater. Prices are a bit high, food is super good.

Staff was…read moregreat when I couldn't decide and I was very grateful for all of the vegetarian and vegan options! Prices were very reasonable and the portions were HUGE. I'm very glad. Each dish was really meant to be shared (based on size alone). Ambience is really relaxing. Warm lighting, cloth napkins, footed water glasses. All in all it would be a really cute date night spot too.

Tonight, I added Momo Masala to that list. I was also fortunate to have friends who live nearby, and when I mentioned to them I was going (hopefully to invite them), they said it was one of their regular places for take-out. But they also informed me that they did not have a liquor license. But that recently changed!! They now offer beer, wine, cocktails, and whiskey pours - none of these are huge amounts, but there are certainly enough options for any of these. Our group of 4 did sample several cocktails. They aren't super fancy (though some drinks do have garnishes or salty/spiced rims), but everything is well crafted. Momos first, if course. They offer several varieties, but if you prefer yours steamed, read the menu carefully, as not all varieties are available steamed. We got vegetable and chicken momos, the chicken ones in a broth. Their medium level of spiciness provided a nice but not overwhelming kick. Our entrees continued the high quality. Their chicken tikka masala has a very dark and rich sauce, and the chicken chunks were tender. The lamb was equally good. The naan here (we got garlic) is very crisp, just the way I like it. This is a popular take-out spot, but there are enough tables to accommodate people who dine in conveniently, with a relaxing ambiance. This is another great add to the wide variety of dining options in Jamaica Plain.

I had really been looking forward to trying this place and was finally able to on Valentines Day…read more The decoration was adorable and I'm pretty sure they were booked out for the evening. There was a great singer, pianist, and sax player to really set the mood. They were super fun, especially when a couple got engaged! To start, I got their ginger martini and while my friend went with a Do-er neat (not a whiskey drinker myself, lol). He tried to order 2 of their beers but they were out of both. My drink came after 15 mins and then we had to remind the waiter about his whiskey. That took another 10. We started with the chicken bao buns and the samosas. Both spectacular! My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.

I placed an online order through Toast for pickup, so I could drive there and it would be ready. I got the Navratan Korma ($18.75 plus tax) with rice and Aloo Parantha ($5.25 plus tax). The order was being packed and bagged as I arrived. I enjoyed the food nearby, still very hot. The Navaratan Korma was a good portion with a mix of vegetables (zucchini, carrots, green beans), tofu, spices in a savory and spicy cream sauce. The rice was soft and not sticky. The Aloo Parantha was a soft baked naan filled with soft potato spread, great for dipping in the korma. I would definitely stop by again to try other offerings like their curries and masala dishes.
