I had been curious to try the salt cave experience. My husband gifted me the sauna and cave experience for Valentine's Day. They did a good job of answering my questions when I booked since I was a first timer. The place has a calm vibe and everyone was really nice. The sauna is small so I was in it by myself for 30 minutes. They have a privacy screen and a light color benefit. It was very relaxing and I was enjoying trying the different light colors. The cave holds about 8 people and you sit in a reclining chair. It is dark and they play meditation music. I really enjoyed this part. I was very relaxed and did feel energized. I had some tea after. What an amazing experience. I have been under a tremendous amount of stress lately and was purchased a trip to the cave for my birthday. I used the infrared sauna first and joined a small party in the salt cave for the most relaxing time I've had in ages. Music and lighting lulled my busy mind and I feel asleep for a few mins and then entered a lovely state of being between alert and sleep. I have noticed that my coughing is gone. I have been to several salt caves and none hold a candle to this one. It is setup so that you feel you are in the Himalayan mountains. It's so relaxing and you feel amazing afterward. The salt cave is the ultimate place for it, I have no idea when it hit me but I was out quite early on into it, luckily we had no one else in the cave with us, so we had a choice to talk or not talk, but my friend and I wanted to just enjoy the experience so we didn't talk. The mood created by the music, low lighting, obviously the salt, and yourself is what is so cool. You lay on a anti gravity chair or there are a couple of floor mats, you give into the zen, and just enjoy the unknown. It was great after a long week at work, Christy explains the process before she turns the lights down, there is no right or wrong way of doing it, but depends on what you want out of it. After the 45 mins you can go and enjoy the salt foot lamps in the tea room, which were cool, and a nice choice of hot teas or water. This is where you slowly come out of the salt coma! Me and my guy decided to come here just to get away and have some relaxation and not focus on covid. We made an appointment and were told to arrive 10 minutes early. We were also told to drink plenty of water prior to the salt cave experience. We arrived early and were told they were having a special - buy 2 get 2 free! The cost was $80 for our session today ($40/ each) and now we have 2 to use in the future. This was an awesome experience! We leaned back in the fully reclining chairs, were asked if we wanted blankets, the door closed, and the lights were dimmed. The ceiling started to sparkle like stars and then the soft music plays in the background! After 45 minutes, the lights come back up, and the door opens. You walk down the hall to the relaxing area, and there are Himalayan domes. With these domes, you are suppose to put your feet on top of them and these are suppose to continue to draw out toxins. She has always been willing to accommodate scheduling changes to the extent the sometimes heavy demand will allow. Her winsome personality promotes a relaxing enjoyable atmosphere where you can unplug, detach, and meditate. The health benefits of atomized salt spray become obvious from first exposure. Chrissy has built an amazing business that benefits so many people including myself. I know she felt terrible about the error and tried to make amends by offering a discount on the next visit. Had the worst experience would not recommend to anyone. A reservation was made last week to rent the whole cave and credit card was placed on file, we showed up at our scheduled time and was told by the owner that there was no reservation. Chrissy states our reservation was made by a "volunteer" she is a one man show and has to take any little help she can get, so my question is you let volunteers take credit card information?? Chrissy was not apologetic at all very rude all she could say was guess you will have to come back at another time. Take your business elsewhere!! read more

The Cave is relaxing with salt on the floor and walls, it gives a feel of a courtyard in the Himalayan's with an roof, doors and items it's from the region. Love, love, love this new business. Saturday, was my first visit but will not be my last. While this business is located in Winston-Salem, NC.....it's brought the authentic elements of Nepal and the Himalayan Mountains. My time is the salt room was peaceful, tranquil and healing. We highly recommend Himalayan Hideaway Salt Cave in Winston-Salem, NC as an avenue towards your total health and wellness! From the moment we stepped through the front door, we felt like we were teleported to another world. My family has been to Nepal, and what's before us is so reminiscent of the scenes in Nepal. The owner, Chrissy, took the time to explain to us all about Himalayan salt--its history and benefits, its pervasive use in Europe for decades, and its current trends in America. If we had arrived 15 minutes before our session, we could have had some tea back in the tea room, but having cut it close to the top of the hour, we put on our booties and were ushered into the salt cave room straight away. Oh, what a beautiful place, so transforming and inviting, like we had just arrived at the foot of Mt. Everest! Words won't do justice in describing this "cave;" you just have to go and experience it. And again, our hostess patiently explained to us what we could do in the cave (pretty much anything we want to, without intruding on the other guests' pleasure) and what would happen during the 45-minute session. My wife sat right down on the "beach" and buried herself in the salt pebbles. My daughter laid down on a blanket on the "beach" and stretched out. I couldn't decide so I tried several things. First, I sat down in the corner by the "campfire" and dug my feet down to the heating pad. It didn't feel very warm but when I left it and walked on the beach, then it was apparent that the beach was colder. Next, I stood by the generator where the salt micro-particles were pumped in to "get the full effect." I breathed deeply and could taste saltiness on my lips. As the lights were turned down gradually, I then sat down on one of the zero-gravity chairs, kicked back and just relaxed. I must have drifted off to sleep, because the next thing I realized was the generator turning off. Wow, that went by so fast and was so relaxing. Our hostess invited us to stay for tea in the tea room in the back. And it's another gorgeous room: so inspiring and well-appointed for relaxation. Cushy couches with lots of pillows and adorned with Himalayan décor. We were served a wonderfully refreshing Nepalese tea--not too strong or weak, just a nice medium bodied tea you can drink straight up. There were several salt lamps on the floor which we could lay our feet on. What a marvelous way to extend our relaxation and healing! So what were the effects of this salt therapy on us? My daughter was fighting a cold and congestion; she said crud (pardon my French) came up while she was in the session, and she could breathe well afterwards. I had been bogged down by allergies; I didn't feel any difference right away, but started to breathe better on the drive home. That evening I was energized when usually I would be tired. That night and a couple of nights after, I was able to sleep well and breathe unobstructed. My wife said she breathed better and had more energy afterwards. Alas, the effects only lasted a few days. I'm thinking that the best deal for me is to get an unlimited month-long pass; that would be the most cost-effective way to get the wellness benefits of halotherapy on a consistent basis. read more
