Wow I could not be happier with my family's experience here. This is a real working dairy farm and it really gives you a small view of the day in the life of a dairy farmer. Tina was our Tour guide and she was absolutely amazing!! She was so great with the kids she really kept their attention and got them thinking. She taught them and me so much about the crops, the dairy, and taking care of the animals. We learned about GMO's(the misconception of them) and Organic Dairy (the Milk comes from the same place) basically don't believe everything you read! We started our tour by jumping on a tractor ride and road into a corn field then to the pumpkin patch. We all got to pick a pumpkin the best part is they are the sugar pumpkins so you can use them for baking!!! We then got to go see the cows that are getting ready to become mothers some already pregnant and we got to learn the whole process. After that we went to go learn about what the cows eat and how much they actually consume on a daily basis wow I had no idea. Tina took us into where the cows are milked and told us the whole process. Then best part the kids and adults got to milk a cow SO COOL ( my first time lol). Then we were taken to see the Calfs we got to pet them they were so cute. Tina took out some bottles of milk and lead us over to the baby goats aka the kids and all the children got to bottle feed them it was awesome. Our tour was starting to come to an end but we got to check out some of the other animals on the farm before we left like the Sheep, pigs, ducks, and chickens. If anyone is looking for something fun and interactive for the kids to do this is it. They really learn so much information and Tina was so wonderful she really took time to answer all of the kids questions. The tour was about 2 1/2 hours so well worth it. It is very affordable and you know the money is going right back into this wonderful dairy farm. Side note they also sell home made jam and pickled items along with some other great souvenirs!!

If you're looking for the most in depth dairy tour of your life, this is it! My family loved it! It was one the highlights of our road trip. Reserve in advance and show up on time. Wear shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (and by dirty I mean cow poop) as you will walk into a stall and milk a cow. We saw and did so many things here that I can't possible list it all. You will be here a few hours. Just go! It's a great educational experience for everyone!

My family of five had the best day!! We just moved to Wisconsin and wanted to see what a dairy farm was like. Not only was it informative, it was fun! We milked cows, fed goats, held chickens, and petted pigs. My 6 yr old loved milking the cows, I loved the babies- especially Rizzo!! We were there well over 2 hours, and it was worth every penny! Living here, I will definitely go back.

Clementine, so precious and very friendly.

My first five star rating on yelp belongs to Hinchley's!!!! Very educational, lots of fun. Owner Tina Hinchley, took our group through all the ins and outs of the farm and taught us about farming, the farming industry and what her role is every day at the farm. I was able to pet all the animals and I even babysat a piglet for a few minutes. I can't remember ever having this much fun. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Wisconsin again.

What a fun and educational tour! The Hinchley's Dairy Farm is family owned and operated. Owner Tina took us on the tour of their farm. She was very friendly and explained the different aspects of their farms simply so a "city girl" like me could understand. Highlights for me were milking a cow, seeing the baby calves and learning the different aspects of how the business runs. I highly recommend it for all including kids.

This was place so awesome! I'm so glad that I found it, and would love to do it again the next I'm in Wisconsin (and probably bring my Dad even though he grew up on a dairy farm) . . . just thought it was so great. And Tina Hinchley is such a great tour guide. The website says to expect the tour to last 1.5-2hrs at the most - I think ours lasted about 2.5hrs. May have been because we were a large group, but it was time well spent. Got to do a little hayride tour by the corn field, through the open air barn, and around the property. Got to go into the milking barn, and milk a cow. Learned how baby cows are born. Held and fed chickens, and collected their eggs, and got to hold baby chicks (so cute!). Fed goats, and toured by the pig pens and sheep. And got a tour of the big machinery shed and hay loft. This place was so great, I would definitely recommend it, and you can bet we'll be going there again someday!

    Baby cows...you can't beat that!

They have hand sanitizers everywhere and Tina brings out soap and water at the end for everyone to wash their hands.

Food: Some great stops along the way, including a bakery and a recently opened restaurant. Madison info: Our tour guide had a lot of stories about everything we were walking past, which was great for the newcomers to Madison. Overall: Great way to get to know and neighborhood and enjoy some tasty food. Would do again in another neighborhood!

My husband and I went on the lake to lake tour with guide Stanley. We we super excited to eat and…read moretour our way through Madison!! We've done 3 walking food tours prior to this one and were excited to add it to our list. There were many things we loved about this tour; Stanley's enthusiasm, the beautiful day and great walking weather, the folks we chatted with on the tour and *most* of the food. The tour was extremely slow to get going. We were all very hungry; eating small breakfasts and no morning snacks in anticipation of a heavy food afternoon. The tour began promptly at 12:30. We spent a very long time in the Convention Center talking about Frank Lloyd Wright. And then when we left the history part of the tour continued for an hour. The first tasting of any food did not happen until a little after 1:30. First stop was Merchant, a funky restaurant/bar, where we were served a Small quarter of a cuban sandwich and a tiny arugula salad dressed in vinaigrette. The Cubano was very good but the serving we seriously tiny. Then we lingered waaaay too long (in my opinion) at the Merchant sitting at the table even though everyone had been done for a while. After the merchant we made Lots of little stops to look at landmarks around the capital area. And we did a little walk through of the capital building, which was very beautiful, but my tummy was still rumbling!!!! 2:22 was our second stop at Fromagination Cheese Shop. This was an absolutely adorable shop with oodles of cheese as well as other gormete food stuffs like cookies, pastries, honey, balsamic vinegar, mustard, jams and jellies and other gift stuff . 3 small pieces of cheese and 2 crackers. There were also a few samples around the store for tasting but really it was a very small food sampling. Shortly after that around 2:44 we made it to Ian's Pizza for a half-slice of Mac and cheese pizza. Ehhh. Did not like it. They had some really cool other kinds and just an awesome menu in general. Just was not into the Mac and Cheese slice. Ick Next up was a little after 3:00 and we stopped at Himal Chuli which was a Nepalese eatery for a Mango Lassi. I was disappointed that we did not get to go inside the restaurant. We just grabbed-and-go our drinks and walked to our next stop. At around 3:17 we stopped into State Street Brats where we were served half to a third of a brat and A half pint of Spotted Cow beer from New Glarus Brewery. Good tasting. But again, a very small sample Lastly we walked to UW campus to the student union for a vanilla malt. It was good. Wish we had gotten to try the ice cream. I'm sure they have some great flavors there. The union was amazing however, right on the lake. Lucky students. The tour ran over, ending around 3:45. My husband and I left still feeling kind of hungry which has NEVER happened to us after a food tour. So, we had a fun time but left with mixed feelings about the tour. Not sure how much we will recommend this one to ours friends. Would rather send them down to the zerve.com food tours in Chicago.
