LOVE this dance studio - I attend their Latin social class every week - sometimes I drag my…read moreboyfriend along, but most times I go solo - the instructors have us rotate partners, so I always have the opportunity to practice with a partner! The cost for a drop-in is $25, so it's also pretty reasonable pricing/very competitive with other dance class locations. I also really like how they do the schedule for the Latin social dance class - each month, they pick a genre (i.e. salsa, bachata, cha cha, etc.) and week 1 of the month is a super introductory level to the new genre, then week 2 builds on what you learned week 1, and so on - so it's always new every week, but not overwhelmingly new! I've also been to their two-stepping class and enjoyed it, but it's on Fridays and I usually have other plans haha - they also do occasional special events like a monthly social (which is free) and a seasonal showcase (which is coming up and is only $30 for a class, dinner, and a show!) I've experienced two instructors and they're both amazing! There's also a third instructor who occasionally steps in as a partner if an extra leader is needed for the Latin social class and he's very easy to dance with, so I imagine he's a good instructor, too!

She developed a beautiful father - daughter dance for our daughter's wedding and has continued to expand the night club two step for us. We have also been learning TX two step. Trish and her husband Ken are clearly building a dance community. They offer numerous group classes and private lessons for various types of dancing styles. All instructors are personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Additionally, Trish and Ken frequently schedule dance events and potlucks that allow for and help provide interaction, sharing, and support. Even though dance does not come easy to my husband and I - we have a great time learning and trying out our new skills. We would highly recommend Just Danze! I like how the instructor talks about the steps on the mic but there are people positioned throughout the dance floor who know the dance who you can follow. We stopped by with a few of our friends who come more regularly and have mastered some of the dances! Some are more complicated than others but in general these are fairly tricky dances. There's a website you can use to practice the dances at home to prepare for each week. After the lesson there is more open dancing and they play various line dance songs for anyone to join. They also include the song that was covered during the lesson. It's fun to watch - so many folks here are really talented. We only bought some waters and did not try any of the drinks so I can't comment on those. Service was good and the lines at the bar move pretty quickly. We've already been talking about going back here to check out another line dancing class! Would definitely recommend.

Though the dances were low impact and at-your-own-pace, I still broke a sweat and didn't have to break once during an hour long class. The instructor was wonderful. She gave attention to every student and did a great job in explaining what muscle groups we needed to be using for each move. The studio is just right, comfortably fitting 10 to 15 students per class by my guess. They do other types of dance as well as kickboxing. I will definitely be checking them out. Right now they're offering a beginners first class for free which made the experience even sweeter. The only negative is I was expecting to receive a jingly hip scarf for my work out. I guess I should have asked (or maybe I'm expecting too much) but if you're not wearing a hip scarf, it's not really belly dancing. You're just kind of jiggling in place right? Oh well. They do sell the scarves for $10 which is reasonable.

City Dance Studio is awesome! My friend found this studio while searching online and we decided to…read moretake ballet classes here last summer. The highlight of the summer was having the opportunity to learn from and dance with Lauren Anderson! I ended up taking dance at UH for the fall semester, so unfortunately I have not been back to dance here. The owner and founder, Sherese Campbell, taught the ballet class we were in. She's inspiring and really makes you want to dance better. The students are awesome, some of them are City Dance Company dancers and they are just as inspiring. Our summer intensive class ranged from teenagers to adults in their 30's-40's. The summer intensive classes are cool because you do (for example) ballet one week and hip-hop another week (for the first 1.5 hours) and then like yoga or tap for the second 1.5 hours. Intensive classes are usually from 9 AM - 3 PM, but I only went from 9 AM - noon and it was $150/week vs. $250/week. Currently don't have time/money to take intensive classes again, but would love to go back soon. It's pretty convenient if you live near Rice/ West U. If you are unsure about anything or have reservations, Sherese is always willing to help and encourage you!
