Leaving a review to help others considering working with Hire-A-Hubby. I needed to replace a 'gas cylinder' for a Herman Miller chair that I own and I set up a date for these guys to come out and try to remove the 'stuck' cylinder. The morning of the work, David told me his guys where sick and couldn't make it, so I reached out to another contractor who I told I would contact if 'H-A-H' didn't show up, cancelled, etc. Then 10 minutes later there is two guys at my door from 'Hire-A-Hubby'. I told them what David said, they where confused, so I just let them do the work. I called off the other contractor, apologized for the inconvenience, about 15 minutes later the guys got the cylinder out! I then asked how to pay, they told me David would invoice me. I then reached out to David and he wanted me to Zelle him. I then asked for an invoice and today, about a week later, I got an invoice and was able to pay through the Quickbooks they invoiced from. -- So, in a nutshell, do they do the job IF they show up? YES! Is their communication the best? NO -- If you're in an emergency like I was, this is my work chair, I need it as I'm on the computer ALL DAY so fixing this was needed, then maybe give them a shot. From other reviews it seems like they are just Handy Men, so if you need a specialist, electrician, etc. I'd maybe look elsewhere BUT if you need some good ol' grunt work, something moved, removed, taken down, put up AND you don't mind some miscommunication that 'might' occur, then H-A-H isn't a bad choice! No show. Called 1hr 15 minutes late...saying car trouble. I expect people to show up when scheduled. Phone call 1 hr 15 minutes after scheduled time is unacceptable for $125.00/hr. read more

Our patio needed a redo, we would highly recommend David and his crew! They helped us to enhance our vision for the project, their craftsmanship was impeccable. The crews were highly skilled, delightful to work with and left the job site pristine every day. David and crew worked well together and delivered a gorgeous final project. What a strange trip it's been. It began when a drunk driver obliterated my mailbox. His identity will remain a secret since he gave fake information to the police. Thus began my quest to get my mailbox replaced. Luckily, my bro in law had an extra mailbox and post. I just needed to get it set. I hired Dave from Hire a Hubby to do the job. He had to cut the 4 existing metal stakes, re-concrete the hole where my previous mailbox sat, and reset the new mailbox a foot to the right. Dave was able to do everything before lunch. I needed a backyard gazebo assembled, and submitted a detailed Yelp request for a handyman team, hoping to find someone in/around Paso Robles. who had experience with this kind of job (12' x 16' gazebo... on gravel). After speaking with Dave, he provided a very fair quote for a 2-man team to travel all the way from Fresno. His guys arrived right on time (even early!) to start working. Fortunately, this was something they'd done before and knew what the project entailed. Both Alex and his nephew were kind, professional and kept me informed of everything I needed to know during the assembly process. I'm so grateful that Bob contacted me directly.
