I've been saving this until the final crown was superglued in place. You couldn't pay me to come…read moreback here for care that wasn't limited to glueing something on anyway though, so here's a full review of Central Dental in CLT. Here's a PRO tip: If your dentist looks at your mouth when you first start going there for check-ups, and they mutter "must be the infection" as the reason that your front teeth feel no current pain, and then NEVER mention an infection again, run. If you go to that SAME dentist months later specifically for sharp pain in the back teeth, and more X-rays fail to detect anything, and her best guess is that the tooth is just sensitive, run. If you go back in for a regular cleaning months after that, and the X-rays still fail to completely detect a now 97% NECROTIC tooth, RUN. If you haven't run yet, don't take her advice and go to her special Ohio-study-group--sister for endodontic treatment. Let's focus on May 12th at Central Dental for a moment. If your dentist can't be on time at 7am for appointments that HER OFFICE scheduled, and then gets an attitude with you and the two other women in the office for wondering why no one has appeared or even said hello at 7am, run. I know it isn't the office staff, sweetheart. It's clearly you flying into the parking lot LATE at almost every appointment. How dare I expect you to be present and ready to perform basic dental services for my appointment START TIME. You know how you could prevent that in the future (since you can't be on-time) just have someone say "hey ladies, we'll be right with you, the meeting is running long." That's it. Solved it for you. You don't have to charge upfront like Xena the Princess Warrior because a few of your patients said "Hello!". Also, I didn't need a timeout while the assistant was f-ing around. You can leave the lights on, we're all adults here. So yeah, RUN. In fact, run to First Dental of Huntersville. They might leave you sitting in the chair for 30 minutes but at least their dentist can catch more than cold.

I've been going here a few years and recently decided to check my dental claims/ coverage and found…read moreout that as of October 2023 my MetLife insurance is out of network for this office. My son had work done at the beginning of the year and I had to pay half upon booking the appt and the other half before work was done when I got to the appt. What they charged I thought was a lot (336.00 for work on 2 teeth out of pocket and my insurance paid 622.40 on top of that) I paid the 336.00 and turns out what I paid vs what they reported that I paid out of pocket was $72.40 more. MetLife let me know I could've saved 556.00 if they were in network. I called in and Ritz said I had a 20.00 credit on my account because 50.00 was charged for some lazer treatment or something. Which I then explained I didn't have a balance until after MetLife called them about the over charge... or at least I wasn't told that even when I booked our cleaning appts. They charge upfront so I think I would know if I had a balance. I asked for the whole amount to be refunded back to me of $72.40 which she agreed they would do which is why I left a 2 star instead of a 1. ... I would just make sure your dental coverage is in network for the day of service even if you're a repeat patient because they won't tell you. Also check with your insurance, what is billed and what you actually paid out of pocket.

Dentist on Monroe cannot call me to cancel an appointment only Optum Serve can. So I drove 1.5 hr to my appointment. I got there at 12:30 and a gentleman said my appointment was at 12:00. I ask who changed it and a young girl walked in the door look like coming from lunch said we did. I said nobody told me. She looked at me with a smirk and said I had to call Optum Serve and complain about them. So I went outside and called Optum Serve. The lady I talk to did not know my appointment was cancelled. So they rescheduled me somewhere else. The doctor's reviews sounds good but his front desk staff is horrible. I refused to go back because my first impression was not where I wanted to go back.

I made a call to a dentist not too far from this location off of N. church st which was less than…read morea few feet from where I was located and the front desk representative did not seem interested in not only the urgency I had but the care I needed. After explaining my issue she said well I'm not sure what procedure you are explaining but does your in order to move forward I need to see if your insurance covers you. 1. I already explained I went through my insurance site and found this location (active listening is not her forte- she should've asked me about the member number) 2. I needed a same day appointment because of the pain associated with my issue. (After all that she FINALLY said we can't do a same day "you can go to urgent care") I said thank you and hung up-She clearly cannot represent the brand... NOW AS FAR AS THE TOP TIER SERVICE AT PEARL DENTISTRY... CHEF'S KISS! I called in and was greeted with the most welcoming and empathetic voice and professionalism from the front desk staff (I could almost kick myself for letting my pain make me drop the ball and forgot to get her name- she needs a shout out) She asked me how quickly can you get here? Do you think you can get here within 30 minutes? I was floored! Yessss I can! At that point she asked "so how did you find us?" - not will you be covered by your insurance. I told her my insurance and she said great! I can look you up to help you get in quicker and get taken care of! I was ill prepared but she took other means to find me and followed up with a 2nd phone call before arriving. The way she carried herself it was like I was the only patient they had and I was Queen Charlotte herself - just VIP Service and care, tailored to me, and about me. Good energy from the jump start! When I arrived... I was literally at the corner and she was looking out the window at a lost lady with 2 toddlers in a stroller and she waved me down like she knew me-Thank God because I was already hot and in pain but her infectious smile from probably 400+ft away made me feel like I was seeing a long time friend and I waved and painfully smiled bigger than I should have! she opened the door for me and said hey there welcome to Pearl Dentistry! I said did I look that lost? And we laughed and she said it's ok I'm just glad you made it! The other staff members were smiling and greeting me too (like we met before as well) 1. Location- Beautiful, bright, wonderful aesthetics, beautiful chipper people, and very professional. Great music too! 2. Technology and Intake- sent me a message for check in to my phone, easy and effortlessly created without feeling like I'm putting everything and my blood type on there (I've had some forms I wanted to just exit and this was very direct, straight to the point and not a dragged out process.) 3. Wait time- by the time I blinked they were calling me to the back and that was perfect because with the toddlers they can get a little too busy us moving to the back as quick as we did helped a lot. (Not to mention they had snacks for them and YouTube that kept them cool, calm and collected during my visit) 4. My Tooth Fairy Dr. Amanda Curtlin, DDS What a refreshing experience to know that the standard of service does not stop at the Front staff but in the individual rooms with back staff (Dental assistant/X-ray tech/ pre-op- very personable young lady!) Dr Curtlin made my nerve wrecking experience easy and effortlessly created a great environment for me to relax and provided a clear understanding of what was happening, why it was happening, and what we need to do to stay safe during & after care. Never in my life has a dentist made me feel comfortable enough to hum through a tooth extraction. I mean she carried the tunes with me, checked in on me after every line of the song, and still carried out a full tooth extraction without missing a beat! I think I even heard her sing to the dental assistant to drain the site AND I LOVED IT! She communicated with me the entire time, telling me to make sure I tell her if I feel any pain vs pressure, paused if she didn't understand what I was saying even if it was something as simple as you both are doing great because at that point they weren't just my cheer squad, I was theirs! I am an unofficial Pearl Dentistry ambassador little does she know and that is because of Dr. Curtlin and the entire staff! This isn't your normal Dental office that we grew up with... this is the Young, fresh faces, committed to excellence and care, empathy and compassion, personality and professionalism and their name fits because they are the Pearl in the sea of dentistry and definitely reimagined the view of dental care, HANDS DOWN THE BEST EXPERIENCE!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family. People who see me and know me comment on my smile all the time. They are some of the most caring and understanding people in the business. I've been to many dentists and oral surgeons after my childhood dentist retired. These folks are by far my favorite. We still have a ways to go to get all the work done, but I will always be so appreciative of how hard they work and how well they do it. Heck, I even get blankets and my hand held when I'm being a wuss during a procedure! I'd definitely recommend.
