I bought a Groupon to Advanced Dentistry and have gone twice now; once for a cleaning/X-rays/care plan, and once for some fillings. Both visits were an excellent experience. I had a 30 minute wait for the first visit and a 10 minute wait for the second, but once I was in the dentist's chair, my experience went as well as one could expect. Both the dental hygienist and Dr. Bowman were incredibly friendly, gentle, and informative. You can tell Dr. Bowman is very passionate about his job and really cares about his patients. The office is very clean and up-to-date. I had no pain with either visit- something new to my dental history. Normally when getting a filling, I have to grunt for more anesthesia while the dentist's fumbling around in my mouth and pinching my cheek with his instruments. Somehow, this time around, I was never in any pain throughout the procedure. Yay! I won't be so afraid to go back now, thank goodness. Their office staff is also very friendly and they send out email and text reminders/confirmations for your appointments, which are always helpful. When scheduling my first appointment last year in August 2023, I told them my concerns and that I knew that I would require a little more "hand holding" because of my fear of the dentist. Dr. Vaish is amazing and she talks me through the procedure which I really appreciate and it keeps me at ease. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family. People who see me and know me comment on my smile all the time. They are some of the most caring and understanding people in the business. I've been to many dentists and oral surgeons after my childhood dentist retired. These folks are by far my favorite. We still have a ways to go to get all the work done, but I will always be so appreciative of how hard they work and how well they do it. And there was no communication from their side. I finally figured out they could not figured out after I followed up couple times. 2. Called many times but no one called me back. 3. Tried to get an appointment but not able to. It delayed the treatment and issue became worse later on. I finally got fed up with them and moved to another dentist. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist who confirmed there were absolutely no cavities or even areas of concern. While the office itself is clean and modern, and the front desk staff and hygienists were friendly, I would urge anyone visiting this practice to be cautious and consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment.
