That is, it is not ultra-center town, so you don't walk out right into the piazza or market. As such, looks are quite deceiving. Once you walk in, you find an absolutely beautiful hotel. The common areas are stunning, and the rooms are updated classic... very nice, with excellent touches. The service of the hotel staff is excellent. All extremely friendly and helpful. I certainly will stay here again next time I am in town.

The architecture of the hotel has blended it neatly into the nature of this mountainous region. There are large rooms, good public areas, excellent terraces overlooking a garden and swimming pool. There is a good restaurant (The Parco Reale) with indoor and terrace dining. A short walk - up several flights of steps or via a winding road - will take you to the hamlet of Castelmola, where you can unwind in local bars and restaurants or shop for local products in the small pedestrianised streets. As the sun goes down, back at the hotel, sit out on the rear terrace and enjoy a drink as you watch Etna disappear under a cloak of darkness. Castelmola is above all a place to relax, stay put, and recharge the batteries. The Villa Sonia will help you do just that. Be warned however, this is not a place for those who dislike heights!
