I had imaging done in August of 2025 and was never informed that the facility was not Tier 1 under my insurance or that multiple studies would be performed during the same visit. I later received a bill for nearly $1,000. I submitted a formal dispute and followed up multiple times over the course of several months. No one responded to my emails. Instead of addressing the issue, the account was sent to collections while it was still under dispute. This entire situation took nearly 8 months to resolve, required multiple phone calls across different departments, and caused significant and unnecessary stress. While the balance was eventually reduced after escalation, it only happened after the account had already been sent to collections, and I am still not satisfied with the outcome. Overall, this experience reflected a lack of transparency, poor communication, and a failure to address patient concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. Patients should be clearly informed of potential costs and insurance implications before services are performed, and disputes should be handled before accounts are escalated to collections. I strongly recommend asking detailed questions and confirming coverage and facility tier status before receiving care here.

On two separate visits for an MRI, I was not properly informed in advance about what documentation or items I needed to bring. Each time, this resulted in having to reschedule--something that could have easily been avoided with clearer communication upfront. What was most concerning was that even after finally providing everything requested, I was brought into the MRI area and prepared for the scan, only to be told at that point that I still needed to leave and retrieve additional information. This led to a total visit time of over four hours without completing the procedure. To their credit, some staff members acknowledged the disorganization, but that does not make up for the inconvenience and wasted time. For a medical facility, especially one handling scheduled imaging, this level of inefficiency and lack of preparation is disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not return and would recommend that others confirm all requirements in detail before scheduling or arriving.

On election day, Tuesday, November 5, I showed up for my scheduled appointment. I was greeted at the desk, paid my fee, and escorted into the treatment room where a staff member took my blood pressure, pulse and temperature. I was then told to wait for the physicians. About 25 minutes later one of the physicians came in and told me that the supervising physician was not in, as he was out working on an election campaign and I would not be treated. She told me that they are sorry. I think that MFM should hold itself to the same standards it holds patients to, which would be to give a rebate to patients when I physician is a no call no show. This is unprofessional.

I was told I could not come in, had a virtual appointment, and was sent for a covid test. I went and one week later got a negative result but by then my symptoms were gone - I had basically just been told to stay in bed with a 105 degree fever until it passed. The other day I called with the IDENTICAL SET Of symptoms and explained how this just happened two months ago and the whole saga. I was once again told I could not make an in person appointment. I went to MedExpress and within 5 minutes of listing the IDENTICAL SET of symptoms was sent inside for a urine sample and given a prescription for an antibiotic for a kidney infection. A kidney infection wasn't even MENTIONED as a possible diagnosis on my virtual appointment. I know Covid is out there and a major concern -- however, not everything is Covid related. Patients should be given a fair chance at a real diagnosis and not be left to fend for themselves. I am disappointed as I expected better from an Atlantic Health System office. I will be finding another PCP.

I was able to get An appointment, the receptionist was super helpful and the wait was within 15 minutes of my appointment even though there were many people in the waiting room. I appreciated that very much. The results were uploaded to MyChart within the hour. Very efficient and nice people. Because I went in within 2 hours of my appointment, the insurance had not approved my test. They waited until the last minute to see If it would be approved and gave me the option to pay out of pocket or reschedule. ** STAY AWAY FROM Morristown Medical Center **…read more ** DO NOT GOT HERE AT ALL ** * Complete Incompetence * Zero Medical knowledge * Zero Accountability * Zero Leadership * Zero Empathy My 20-year-old daughter was a patient at Morristown Medical Center for more than two years. She experienced chronic pain, mobility challenges, and cognitive issues, yet the medical care she received was inadequate. She was admitted more than five times for the same symptoms and never received a diagnosis. In total, her hospital stays exceeded 120 days. I contacted the patient complaint department several times, but each time I was given the runaround. She did not receive appropriate treatment and spent much of that time lying in her room without meaningful progress. Meanwhile, MMC billed my insurance company millions of dollars. After we took her to another hospital, she was diagnosed and received proper treatment. I do not want to provide additional details for legal reasons, but she is now recovering.

One Star - Concerns Regarding Communication, Professionalism, and Patient Experience…read more I am a healthcare professional with over 39 years of experience, and it is very uncommon for me to write a negative public review. However, based on multiple firsthand experiences, I feel it is important to share my concerns regarding this practice. I have been a patient of Dr. Thomas Cioce for several years and typically only see him for routine care. Approximately two months ago, I scheduled an appointment for medical clearance for surgery. During that visit, Dr. Cioce questioned why I was seeing him rather than a nurse practitioner. After I explained that I required physician clearance, the visit felt rushed and dismissive and lasted only a few minutes. On December 29, 2025, my 74-year-old husband developed a fever and cough. I contacted the office to schedule an appointment and spoke with Ellen, a member of the front office staff. I was advised to take my husband to the emergency room. I explained that this was not a life-threatening emergency and that we were seeking evaluation through his primary care provider. An appointment was eventually scheduled, and my husband tested positive for COVID-19 and received treatment. Later that same day, after I developed similar symptoms, I contacted the office seeking guidance. I was informed that no appointments were available and was advised to seek care elsewhere. When I attempted to explain my symptoms and recent exposure, the call was ended by the staff member. I called back on two additional occasions and was hung up on each time after being told no appointments were available. Being repeatedly hung up on while ill and seeking guidance from one's primary care office is unacceptable. As a result, I was forced to seek care at an urgent care center, where I waited four hours to be seen. Notably, the first question I was asked upon arrival was, "Why didn't your primary care doctor see you?" This situation was entirely preventable and reflects poorly on the coordination and accessibility of care at this practice. The only reason I have continued care at this practice is due to Amber, the nurse practitioner, who has consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and thorough care. My concerns do not reflect her performance. I strongly recommend that Dr. Cioce and the front office staff receive customer service and patient-communication training. If individuals are unable or unwilling to treat patients with basic courtesy and professionalism, they should reconsider working in a patient-facing healthcare role. I also attempted to escalate these concerns within the organization but was unable to obtain clear information regarding corporate leadership or the corporate office. I encourage anyone reading this review to contact the office directly to understand the communication challenges firsthand. My intent in writing this review is to provide factual feedback and to encourage meaningful improvements in professionalism, communication, and patient care.

Go where people will actually treat you with dignity and will truly help you rather than treat you like you're a burden. Trust me please. You deserve better.
