After 10 minutes, we got up and left to the other restaurant. Staff members were all watching the game instead of waiting on patrons. At the other place to eat it is not loud at all. But, the hostess either doesn't know how to be friendly or has an affliction prohibiting her from smiling. Rocky start just to grab some food! Waitress came to take our order and thankfully it arrived quickly. The food was ok, underwhelming. Needless to say, I don't anticipate ever stopping here again!

They've moved all the card tables to the back of the casino, literally directly in front of the restrooms. I made the fatal error of walking over a roped area not realizing it was the pit of the tables (they were much better and CLEARLY blocked off when the tables were in the front of the house when you walked in and not blocking the bathrooms!! ) Well, after realizing I had walked over a rope trying to make a straight beeline to the bathroom, I was yelled at by a gambler, so I went back over the rope, and went around the entire circle of tables. . I almost peed my pants!! I left the restroom and I went back to the slot I was playing. I was ready to leave because I felt as though I was being watched and my slot was sucking up all my money. I most certainly WAS being watched!! Security came up to me and asked me if I knew why they were there... uh yeah because I almost peed myself and walked over a rope, but went back over it immediately after realizing, I was in the table pits. The lady says well, you need to leave immediately and not come back for 24 hours. Wow, ok!! No warning nothing... I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars there between the losing slots and meals at the restaurant and this is how you treat a customer. I keep giving that place a chance, but I'm done now. Slots are extremely TIGHT... and the place was empty, so that's telling. I'm surprised they're still open to be honest... I'm not returning.

I'll be honest: the reviews are pretty spot-on. As is often the case with American history, a place…read morewrapped in so much legend and storytelling can feel a bit underwhelming when you finally see it in person. That said, if you're in the area, you should absolutely go but treat it more like a quick historical lesson than some sweeping, cinematic destination. It's not the Alamo. You kind of expect Boot Hill to match the scale of the myth. All those dramatic Wild West stories make it sound expansive, mysterious, almost epic. And then you arrive and realize it's adorably tiny. Like, shockingly tiny. "Is this it?" tiny. Still, there's something charming about seeing the real place behind the mythology. If you frame it as an instructional stop rather than a grand spectacle, it's worth the detour. Technically it's probably a three-star experience. But I'm giving it five, because nudging the average to 3.1 stars feels like the most historically accurate outcome here. Getting to 3.5 might be a challenging endeavor. Also, big points for one thing that truly held up: "Time to git outta Dodge." The phrase may have aged better than the attraction.

Known for its Boot Hill Museum(not pet friendly so only looked from outside)and historic Front Street, the city offers a charming blend of heritage and modern amenities. Visitors enjoy the lively atmosphere of local spots like the Depot Theater and tasty eats at places like Bella Italia. The community is welcoming, with events like Dodge City Days drawing crowds for rodeos and festivals. However, limited nightlife and occasional dusty winds might not suit everyone. A great stop for history buffs and those seeking authentic Midwestern charm. Lots of construction going on in the old part so getting around is a little work but lots of free parking. Great self guided walking tour but a lot of the things have been removed during the construction but still a good time. All of the removed stuff will be replaced once they are done.

This Holiday Inn Express and Suites helped make my visit to Dodge City slightly better…read more I did not enjoy my time in Dodge City with a few exceptions. One was this hotel, and you will either laugh and say "that makes sense for John", or you will think I am a lunatic when I explain why. Either way, I liked the small touch that elevated breakfast to greatness. So what was the small touch? Jalapenos and Tabasco. Aww yeah! So I may be jumping ahead telling you about the free breakfast, but there are no rules on Yelp. Here is what you need to know if you eat here. Get some of the cheese omelets that they have, add about one hundred jalapenos and coat it in chipotle hot sauce. If you can't handle that, we can't be friends. If you can, you are A-OK in my book. What about the rest of the hotel? The room was clean, comfortable, and lived up to HIE standards. The staff were friendly and helpful, minus the one bad recommendation for dinner. When I arrived, I realized the hotel was next to a waterpark that made parking kind of insane. By the time I got back from dinner the park was closed and the parking area was empty. But be forewarned if you arrive when it is open. If you find yourself in Dodge City, this is where you should stay.

Another woman just stood by glaring at everyone, but not helping. When I asked why she (front desk lady) was talking so rude to everyone, she first snapped at me that she doesn't think she is being rude, then got nasty with another woman standing near by asking someone about the room situation, then she gave me a card and said I could take it up with her supervisor, but when I'd call the number on the card it would ring a few times and then someone would pick up and immediately hang up- so sort of makes since why the employees think it's acceptable to treat guests this way. I witnessed the lady at the front desk bite the heads off two different elderly women just for asking questions, and when no one could check in at check in time (and even well after) she said check in time doesn't apply when the hotel is full and told me if I didn't like it i could take the money I paid for my reservation and leave. If there were any other options open in town during this time we would have left and stayed somewhere else, but everything was booked and we had two hours to get to a local wedding. We finally figured out the room situation between guests swapping rooms since the staff was no help. I noticed the front desk phone was off the hook the entire stay also. Then they had the audacity to leave a card in the room asking us to tip the staff lmao
