Unless one happens to be a vegetarian or vegan, a dinner featuring beef (I.e. steak) should be mandatory when visiting in a city that was (and still is) an important center of our nation's meat supply. When I fired up my trusty Yelp App I was surprised that the options for a good steak dinner in Dodge City were limited (maybe all the best meat is shipped off to NYC?). Anyway, we decided that the Cowboy Capital Grille looked promising so off we went. I started off with a cocktail (Bee's Knee's) featuring gin from the Boot Hill Distillery. Even though a garnish listed on the menu was omitted or forgotten, the drink was tasty, and, in my opinion, the best item of the night. For my entree I went with the K. C. Strip Steak with mashed potatoes and the vegetable "du jour." The steak was fine, properly seasoned and cooked to medium rare -- but still rather ordinary, as were the sides. All in all, our experience at the Cowboy Capital Grille proved to be a satisfactory evening for a couple of old college buddies on a cross country road trip, even though the food and service were average at best.

Walked in 9p. Friday night, no one approached us to seat us. NO welcome shout out from the bartender,, no Happy Vibes. We saw one miserable cowboy hunched over a mediocre mess on his plate, another small party across the room .. no staff member at all. We waited a minute or two, surveyed the lack of love, and left. This establishment's poor reputation is such that friends tell us even Applebee's is preferred.

Needed to make a plan for the Dodge City walking tour so came in for a beer and a bite. Super clean with friendly staff. Our order came out quickly and was delicious. Possibly the best fries we have ever had! We left with a plan and happy bellies!

We came in about 2 on a Tuesday so not many customers. We're seated right away got drinks quickly. I ordered the Gunslinger burger cooked perfect with pepper Jack cheese, jalapeño, bacon and it had lettuce tomato onion and pickles on the side. Wooo! I'm getting all warm from the great spice. Comes with a nice amount of fries. Wife loves here in bone wings with buffalo sauce. Great interior with a big bar. Many many TVs for sports. Great service.

Inside an old textile factory from the late old west period - this place has character. It is across the street from the Boot Hill Museum. I had the Capital Burger. It has burn ends and a roasted jalapeño pepper. Absolutely amazing. I'm so glad the young lady who was waiting on me recommended it, as it was not on the lunch menu. A gem!

Chicken Fried Steak, baked potato and mixed veggies.

Very lack luster service. I waited at the front counter for nearly 7 minutes to be seated. Several wait staff saw me waiting and finally hollered for the hostess. My waitress wasn't in much hurry either .... as I looked around at the mostly empty restaurant. I ordered a chicken fried steak, baked potato, mixed veggies and iced tea. The chicken fried steak was well seasoned and cooked just right. The baked potato was perfect. The mixed veggies....served in a styrofoam cup should have just been tossed. My iced tea was refilled as it neared empty.....but with sweet tea. Yuck! The only thing that would prompt my return was the fact that it was walking distance from the hotel.

At the last minute - I felt I needed to provide a meal for our out of town guests. Being a more mature (old) person - I made the initial reservation online With ease. With time the reservation number got larger so I followed up with a call. There was no problem. By the time all my guests arrived the number was even larger and another table was added with no complaint or problem. My guest were made to feel welcome. A special menu was provided for my guests to make personal selections that included appetizers, main meal, salads and desert selections. The main meal had a selection of steaks, salmon, chicken and everybodys favorite - chicken fried steak. Each meal came with a protien selection, starch and vegetable. Every meal was prepared to perfection. The desert selection of a layered chocolate cake or cheesecake topped off the experience. Our server worked hard and efficiently to make everyone happy. Bravo!! Considering this dinner was so last minute PRIME ON THE NINE made each of my guests happy and made my job as a host so easy! Thank you for taking the stress off of me and making this meal an enjoyable experience for all. Definitely two thumbs up!!

Salads (dinner and Caesar) were fresh. Called in advance since we were only traveling through - this was very helpful. Made reservations but didn't really need them. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. We sat outside which was perfect as it was breezy. Tables were clean, inside looked nice too.

The advertisement stated for $20 per person one receives a chose of a house salad or Caesar salad, made to your liking - all you can eat - pasta dish, and dessert. We were skeptical at first though found it to be quite delicious. We both chose the Caesar salad, served with yummy rolls. We got in line for the pasta dish. You had three different options for sauces, three different options for noodles (pre-cooked), several options of vegetables, and three options for meat. They cooked it in front of you. I opted for linguine noodles, a small amount of Alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and chicken. It was amazing. My husband got the tricolor tortellini noodles, all the veggies, and pesto sauce. He loved it! We got a bottle of wine, which was actually inexpensive compared to other places we go. Jacqueline was a wonderful, cheerful waitress. I will admit, you had to go through a bit of the casino to get there. Smoking is allowed in the casino so we were a bit nervous about the restaurant. We were surprised that you couldn't smell the smoke at all in the restaurant.
