Came here twice. First night 4 of us had dinner and the next day 8 of us came for lunch. Everyone liked what they got. For lunch I got the build a burger and it was good. The fries were kind of cold; wouldn't get those again. Others got the patty Melt, bacon ham and avocado burger, and chicken fried steak. At dinner I got the fried fish sandwich. Stopped in here as I finishing up the night of chasing storms. The space is great; it has a good vibe and everyone was very friendly. I was clearly an outsider but never felt like a stranger. The waiter was quite friendly and attentive. Good food and tap selection. I had a steak and it was cooked just as I expected it to be. We had the sweetest server who took care of us and brought samples of beer when we weren't sure which way to go - we ended up opting for the locally brewed 1872, a robust and smooth ale. Even though I eyed the catfish dinner, I opted for the hot beef over mashed potatoes and white bread covered with a delicious brown gravy (SOS) because, hello, I'm in Dodge City (land of cattle). It was exactly what the doctor ordered. SO good. My partner ordered the patty melt, also excellent. The side salad I ordered could have been bigger, but it was fresh and delicious too. I loved the hometown feel of the place, and the front was packed with locals, while the train car was a bit empty and too quiet - so we opted for the large bar area with booths and tables. It's Dodge City... My expectations were low, but they need not have been! This place is solid. It's not going to blow your mind and it's not going to ruin your world, but I ordered Albert's tacos and as a taco snob with very specific taco metrics, I was not mad. The ribeye stole the show. Ask for some lime wedges to balance out the amazing umami fatty goodness and thank me later. I also ordered a martini, which in itself should've been a roll of the dice, but it was awesome. A bit rustic with friendly staff. My Reuben and brisket sandwich was delicious and so huge I could only eat half. The chips seem like they're house made and crispy perfection. My husband's turkey sandwich was just as amazing as were his fries. Based on these two delicious sandwiches, I definitely recommend giving this place a visit! read more

First impression - we were seated in the back little room. There is no music, just a small quiet radio playing regular radio, so some music but a ton of commercials. No Ambiance and with no music we have to listen to the tables ok the other side of the room chomp their chips. Annoying. Dad asked server what local beers they have available and she suggested Goose Island IPA, not local. He ordered beer and it sat on the bar for 5 minutes before finally making its way to us (we weren't going to help ourselves even though we assumed it was his). My water was brought immediately though so points there. Ordered the Supreme Quesadilla and the Dead Man's Handle (jalapeño poppers). The poppers were great. Dad raved about the chips that came with the quesadillas. Salsa was spicy, which we like. Quesadilla we did chicken. Not sure what makes it supreme. It was fine. Comes with salsa, guacamole and sour cream. The portions of the sauces were a joke. No lettuce or tomato or anything. Service after the initial weird stuff was good. Service was 5 stars, this review is not in reference to the staff. We drove through on our way back home to Colorado and picked this place based on the reviews, which were very deceptive. The food we had lacked seasoning and had very little flavor. Most of it seemed to be freezer to fryer with very little made in house if any at all. We both left nearly laughing about how bad the food was. The set up of the establishment is very odd as well. There was no music playing at all creating an awkward environment. There was also an area just near the front door with several guests playing pool. I can definitely see this place being the spot to be during the evening hours for more of a bar scene rather than dining experience. My suggestion would be to choose another spot for a meal and save yourself the disappointment. Our bill was $53.87 after tip for an appetizer, half a cheesesteak & a chicken tender dinner (we both had water) honestly not worth the step prices. I requested a beer with a glass and lime around the rim, they placed the entire bottle in the glass, stuffed it in there where it was tough to get the bottle out, why would I drink in a glass you shoved my bottle of beer in? This was probably my favorite restaurant that we went to during our 1 week stay in Dodge City, Kansas. Pretty much every local we talked to suggested we stop by before leaving the city. The decor is very cute and very fitting. They even have a dining car as part of their seating area. This restaurant is huge in comparison to any other restaurant we ate at during our trip. Kansas beef is truly more tender than California's. Our servers were busy, but did great with us. Would definitely return if I was in the area. read more

Central station was recommended to us by mini is the best restaurant in Dodge City (I hope not). Definitely a western atmosphere and a pretty cool bar look. Hostess and servers were friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable both of the bar and the food. For example makers mark on the rocks $6 and a bottle of Stella $4! We might've been the beneficiaries of happy hour pricing but even then, a really good deal. Our server, Chris, was great - very new and needs a little seasoning, but boy does he get an A for effort. It was attentive, and made sure we were in good shape all evening. He seemed a little nervous, and only needs to adjust his pace. But I think he's used to people that come in and want to eat quickly before the show. I definitely recommend the empanadas. They come with queso and salsa and are definitely shareable for two. Salads came next and they were fine but they seemed a little wilted to me. We tried the Alberts tacos with the addition of avocado slices. Not bad, but unfortunately avocado was not ripe. We also had the fillet mignon. It was cooked to order and had decent flavor. They were both OK but I probably wouldn't recommend either. read more

This was a fun night out in Dodge City. Our adorable little waitress had a great attitude about seating us in the otherwise empty dining car, which could not have been convenient for her. The tortilla soup was full of hearty vegetables and good flavor. The BBQ ribs were fork tender with the fat nicely rendered. The cinnamon crumble dessert was basically coffee cake a la mode, but we enjoyed it. We didn't get any pictures of the Halloween decorations in the main room, but they were a hoot! The worst steak I've ever had. Receipt #61436 (just to show it's an actual review). We arrived at 6:15 pm on 9/27/25 and ordered right away (we were starving from a long ride). The salads came right out and were good. That's where the good leaves... It took 1-1/2 hours from the time we ordered to receive our steaks. In the waitress's defense - she did ask us to cut out steaks to see if they were done. We did but after an hour and a half wait we figured we could live with it. As it turned out - my Ribeye was nothing more than meat flavored chewing gum (my girlfriends words after trying it - Ha!). Her Filet Mignon was raw (like Ahi raw). It took 3-minutes in the microwave at the hotel to get it Med-Rare. The baked potatoe and salad were very good but the meat was horrible. It was the most expensive salad and baked potato I've every had and I would have given it no stars if that was an option. Too bad, It's in an awesome building! read more

Cool place. Huge bar and lots of tables. Food was good, Catfish was nicely breaded. Ribs are cut between bones and I expected them to be tough, but they could be cut with a fork. The overall experience was nice. The ambience and appearance of the restaurant was very casual. My husband ordered a porterhouse steak, which he was pleased with. I ordered the filet mignon, but it was not the typical, thick fillet mignon. It was a very thin filet mignon wrapped in bacon. I will say the steaks had a very good flavor. Oh my gosh you'll love this place. So warm and friendly. Candice, Griselda and Alisha were so friendly and helpful about where to go in Dodge City. We ate outside on a welcoming patio with our dogs. Inside looked as welcoming and massive. We had a chicken sandwich with chips, a club with soup, and a half turkey sandwich and soup. All were great. The ground beef and potato soup was spectacular. My wife and I stopped in to this place a few weeks ago while on vacation. We were told by several locals that this was the best place in town to get a steak. As we were walking in, a gentleman in a cowboy hat was walking out and asked us how we were doing. My wife said "Wow, this place seems friendly!" The place was fairly busy. We decided to sit at the bar. A couple got up and slid down to make room for us. It was a little uncomfortable due to the fact that the stools were shorter to the bar more than usual. Patrons to the left and right of us were extremely friendly! Bartender was not the friendliest though. Decent menu. Lots of options. We ordered some apps first. Wasn't impressed as it was just typical frozen button mushrooms, wings and mozzarella sticks. We then ordered the entrees and I ordered a ribeye steak and baked potatoe. My wife had the chicken tender meal with broccoli and fries. Her tenders were also basic frozen type. Broccoli was a little mushy but the fries were good. My steak was great! Amazing flavor and tender. We loved the ambience of the place! The whole time, the gentleman sitting next to me was the same person who was walking outside when we arrived. Come to find out he was the owner. Very kind, friendly and talkative! lol. We had a good time here! Food wasn't bad, steak was great! Excellent location in the heart of dodge city. I visited after my Boot Hill museum tour. Although the t-bone steak was excellent, I was not able to get their signature steak. Flew from NJ and was looking forwarded to trying it. How can they not have their signature porterhouse steak in the capitol of cattle country? Sold out tonight, and the reason for my 4 stars! Very disappointing. Btw, no steak sauce needed, steak I settled for was seasoned very well! Sides were all very good, as well as the blue cheese they use for the salad!
