The staff here are very friendly and helpful every time we shop here. The food prices are very good and much lower than where we live. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The shelves are always well stocked and the facility seems well maintained. We always enjoy our shopping experience here. This is a wonderfully managed store. The people are helpful and especially the deli. There's a young lady in the deli and I don't remember her name, but she always cuts my cheese and meat perfectly. I go in about once a week and I get five slices of beef German bologna she knows just how thick I like it then I get five slices of thick American cheese and she cuts it perfectly every time she remembers me and she smiled and is very polite. She is a great ambassador for this store. read more

This store in Interlachen really needs attention, it has an odor and shelves are dirty. For the only grocery store for 12 miles I would think if the owners were to stop in and see the state of it they would definitely clean it up. Recently moved to Interlachen and Hitchcock being the only supermarket in town I gave it a try over and over again only to be disappointed over and over again. They have the locals prisoner because they dont want to drive 20 minutes to Palatka to the nearest Walmart or other big grocer. A $7-9 dollar container of coffee is $15 . A 45 oz Country crock Butter which sells for $5-6 at Walmart sells for $8-9 at Hitchcocks. Make any comparison you want it is usually $2-3 if not more at hitchcock's. Well worth spending the $3 in gas to save money. In a small community that is struggling to stay alive in these times they should be in sync with the market not taking advantage of the community knowing that they are the only local supermarket. Most customers are there for only one or two items because they cant justify traveling 20 minutes to get them. With this in mind these are usually the items that are way overpriced. Dont even get me started at the bakery prices. A apple pie that you can get at the big box for $5-6 costs $15 at Hitchcocks. Take the trip and spend the $3 in gas that it costs to go to palatka and save tons of money. This is my personal opinion which is shared by many a consumer who go there but feel trapped. read more

One thing you get at Hitchcocks that you don't get at other stores is the mask-less cashiers telling customers that the COVID vaccine is poison. My cashier was so engrossed in her diatribe against the vaccine that she couldn't even do her job. No one in the store wears masks and they talk about the vaccine being poison. Ironic since they are literally spewing poison as they cough and hack and spray customers and their stock with their germs because they are all mask-less. read more

This store is the Worst. They ripped me off when I ordered Egg Rolls from here and didn't refund me and cancelled my order. They also didn't give me my money back when I ordered shrimp from them also. Whatever you do don't order delivery from this store. They'll rip you off if you or a loved one pissed them off. I lived in Palatka/Interlochen for several years and always shopped at Hitchcocks. I can tell you, I REALLY miss shopping there since moving away. The food was always fresh, low prices and such friendly staff. I have to settle for big name grocery stores now and if anything would convince me to move back to Interlochen, it would be Hitchcocks! Yep, little Interlachen (pop 1500) has a real supermarket! Comparable to a large Winn Dixie, the store has fresh produce, meat, and even more. The deli will slice up meat and cheese for you, just like a big city store. Unlike a big city store, you probably won't have to wait in line for service. Fried chicken for when you're too busy or too lazy to cook is here, along with other lunch/ dinner options. The quality is pretty good, and so are the prices. Weekly specials will help stretch the budget. This is one of the few places where you can find GA Red whole tomatoes- the tastiest canned tomatoes ever. Finally, no more driving all the way to Palatka to get groceries. Alachua store has gone downhill recently. Can not trust their ad, do not have advertised items.... over and over! Can't call them because they either don't answer or put you on hold, only to hang up on you, and then not answer when you call back. The fried chicken is good, usually, cant count on it though. Mashed potatoes are a really bad instant. Produce is good with alot of locally grown items. Some good sale prices on meats. read more

Interlachen store - Got groceries delivered to my home last week. Got most things on my list with no substitutes. Well pleased with service.

Living in a small-town there are few choices for groceries and other things. Hitchcocks market has everything that a small-town needs. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. Avoid this place if you value your health. Hitchcock's in Interlachen is a joke. I've found rotting meat stashed on top of the shelves. And entire display of avocados were either overripe or dripping with rot. All I wanted was a loaf of bread. I told myself "How bad can it be?" Bed. It was moldy when I got it home. This store does not care about cleanliness or its customers. Take your business elsewhere. read more
