I got sick of all the greedy sales tactics when an overpriced jeweler in Troy tried to take advantage of me (I was younger at the time and someone else was with me that can attest) and went to Thoma's. Not only were their prices extremely reasonable, no sales tactics or trying to gouge you... this guy was an absolute master at jewelery. I bought a ring from another jeweler, Bought a diamond from Thoma's (way more reasonable) and had him set it on a rushed timeframe. Delivered on time and every time that ring has gotten checked at other jewelers, they all start off saying "let's just check the prongs, I'm sure they'll need adjusted as it's been so long!"...then "Wow... whoever did this really knew what they were doing!" Lol yes. Yes he did. Thoma was in the middle of crafting a bunch of other custom rings and jewelery at the time when he worked with me. Just a down to earth genius. When I finally reached someone by phone, I was told -- directly -- that they don't have time to answer emails or take calls because they are too busy. Read that again: too busy to answer customers who are trying to give them money. There is no proper online ordering system, no follow-up, no basic customer service, and zero respect for potential buyers. If you don't want to sell online or respond to inquiries, then don't pretend to have a website that suggests otherwise. This is not how a legitimate or serious business operates in 2025. Ignoring customers and brushing them off with "we're busy" is unacceptable. Communication is the bare minimum -- and they completely failed. If you value your time or expect even basic professionalism, look elsewhere. What a mess.
