I danced at Planet Dance for several years and ultimately left because of how poorly I was treated…read more Meghan showed favoritism, pulled students from routines for arbitrary reasons, and made inappropriate comments -- including telling me I was "too old to cry." Dancers whose parents were heavily involved were prioritized over talent or effort. In one routine, I had less than an eight-count of actual dance but still paid full costume and competition fees. When my mother raised concerns, Nancy (owner at the time) brushed her off and said I "needed to be a team player." Competitions were also mishandled -- rehearsal hours were underreported to place dancers in lower divisions for a competitive advantage. After posting my Google review, Planet Dance dismissed it as "misinformation." I emailed the studio asking what was inaccurate and received no reply. I've attached that email and video clips showing Meghan harshly criticizing dancers and enforcing excessive conditioning -- this was a regular, belittling environment. To the owners: refusing to acknowledge concerns doesn't erase what happened. Planet Dance wasn't just a studio -- it was a huge part of my childhood. Trauma doesn't have a timeline. I see it every day in my old photos and memories. Nobody can tell me how to feel or when to stop speaking on it. If you think I'll stay quiet, you're wrong. I have every right to tell my story.

Kids were previously at another gym, skills had started to plateau and new energy was placed on them after starting classes. New skills were being practiced after the first few classes and kids want to go now. There is also kids Ninja classes offered and looks cool for the kids participating. Gym also offers parents night out on occasional Fridays which is nice as well as summer camps. Check it out, I hope your kids enjoy and learn new skills as mine have.

So we proceeded to come in and try it out. During class the instructor didn't even try to make her part of the class only reason why we knew where to go is by watching everyone leave the area we were at. She not once tried to interact with my niece or teach us what to do as this was our first class. We will not be coming back and hopefully finding a better place to help my sister and niece burn some energy.
