A great local place in Anchorage that gives the option of having mead on tap and a nice, casual, quiet area to gather with friends and sip on mead. I ended up trying a flight on my first visit and a single glass of different meads on my second, and I was not disappointed in any of them. Mead seems to be having a moment! And by that, I mean, there are MEADERIES now! Anchorage now has not one, but TWO meaderies! I can think of at least two other ones in the state off the top of my head (one in Haines, one in Homer), and I'm sure I'm missing some. I don't know a ton about mead, other than I understand the process as someone that brews 100+ gallons of beer and cider every year. Meads can be all over the place in terms of sweetness, alcohol %, and carbonation. The meads here are primarily sweet and all are flat (no carbonation), alcohol levels vary from ~6% to ~20(!)% It's hard for me to be objective as I don't have a sweet tooth and love me some carbonic acid. I prefer my adult beverages dry and fizzy. Having said that, the couple that were running place (the owners, I'm guessing) were even sweeter than their mead and fun to talk to. I got the cyser, because it was slightly less sweet. Abbey got it hot & mulled, and it made for a deliciously cozy fall/wintertime beverage. They also have a D&D room that you can rent out for taking on Vecna or just for having a cool place to have work meetings. Definitely check them out, do matter what your taste. If you've got a sweet tooth though, check 'em out ASAP! read more

Couldn't say enough good things about this spot. The individual working was absolutely wonderful. I loved conversing with her, her pup bruce is the best mead mascot of all time (an absolute doll), and let's not forget the mead, it was fantastic. I can't claim to be a mead person but I love trying new and different things and I was not disappointed. They had a wonderful selection and the flight gave me the opportunity to taste and experience a variety. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you! read more

Every good story starts with "we were riding our bikes when...." We saw a sign that said mead and nearly ran into the car in front of us!! Happily surprised; we got a flight with the hits! Holy yum. Definitely tastes like honey; but I love the fruitiness and the sweet but tart finish. The Lemon Dropship was my favorite, but strawberry and blueberry buzz are in a close contest! The decorations are wonderful and unique as well, the playlist is great; and the customer service is great!! Great mead. Great owner. Super cool little place in a nondescript warehouse. Community spirit. Non alcoholic soda for the kids, sweet side of the mead world but they apparently also do more dry versions. Great selection of mead!! Had 9 meads on tap and one non-alcoholic soda. We enjoyed everything we tried but really liked the Bee Gay, Lemon Dropship and the POG Buzz. Their tasting room was fantastic. Their mead is fantastic! You can taste the honey notes in all of the meads they make. Katie was very personable and knowledgeable. We tried two flights and a couple samples of some other flavors. While she didn't have the flavors we wanted in the pouches at the tasting room she recommended two local shops to find them in. read more
