This brewery blocked me on Instagram. Before I headed there last night for a dear friend's birthday and I wanted to check to see if there would be a foodtruck. They kept not coming up in the IG search results...weird. I initially was worried they went out of business because it said their IG page was down. I warned the birthday girl that maybe that had suddenly closed and joked "unless I'm blocked, lol" to which she replied "they blocked you!" So weird and so sad. Never in my 267 brewery reviews on Yelp has a brewery blocked me from their IG. (that I know of, lol) My only interactions with them on IG are to re-share their reels so my friends know what beers they have on tap or what food truck is out front. I guess if I had to guess it would be that my 3-star review about their being the only brewery in Anchorage that doesn't allow you to taste their beer first must've struck such a nerve that they researched to find what IG account is connected to my Yelp account, and then blocked me. Really disappointing, I always thought the owner/brewer seemed cool but I guess he has thin skin. Their Anchorage-style Pilsner is still one of the best beers in town, hopefully I'll get a pint tonight. Last night I had a west coast IPA and a Cold IPA. Both were good. The fact that you have 3 different IPAs on tap combined with a 3 drink limit by the state of Alaska...really speaks to why tastes are helpful. Still the worst name of any brewery. It sounds like a Temu beer kit that makes murky booze your friends pretend to like. read more

The owner is often pouring the beer. He's a friendly guy who takes pride in his brews. A few NA options (sparkling sodas). Occasionally there is a food truck and you can bring in any food you want. Only seating option is high barstools that are often found at breweries. As a disabled person sitting on these stools is impossibly painful. I'd love to see some other seating accommodations for people who are not able bodied. read more

Gose was a great Summer-dreaming treat. New Imperial Stout was very tasty and balanced. 1st time there. A bluegrass band played a good repertoire. Food truck (Yeti Dogs) seemed to be popular though I didn't sample. Little quiet areas for those who prefer that as well. Recommend for sure. Oh, craft tables had some great stuff too. read more

Visited Brewerks for the first time tonight despite it being dangerously close to my neighborhood. I'm so glad I did! They are located in an industrial area accessible via Arctic Blvd but easily seen when driving over Raspberry Rd. Ample parking is available. Their interior space is bright, clean and industrial. There was one worker the majority of the time we were there. He was welcoming, informative, and conversational. We felt comfortable. We started and ended with their "Dip in the Briny," and we also tried their Belgian. Quality beautiful glassware. All pours were great but the Briny was clearly our fave. AKookies - the newest delicious cookies in town, were there tonight from 4pm-8pm and she was selling out of all her flavors per usual. Follow her on IG to find out where she'll be next. Brewerks is the kind of place you hope no one else discovers--but you can't help telling everyone about it anyway. It's tucked into an industrial corner of Anchorage with no frills, no fluff--just incredible beer and the kind of atmosphere that feels real. Inside, it's welcoming in that quiet, unpolished way: barrel tables, a loft above, and Chad (the owner and brewer) probably behind the bar, pouring the beer he made himself. That kind of presence matters. You feel it in the space and in every pour. The beer is creative, clean, and thoughtful. No shortcuts. The hazy IPAs hit just right, the stouts are layered and rich without being overdone, and the rotating sours and goses are genuinely interesting--not trendy for the sake of it. You can tell he's brewing for flavor, not followers. It's a place where the beer speaks first, and then the people do--and both are worth listening to. If you like places where you can actually hear yourself think, where the beer is the centerpiece without needing to be flashy, and where the owner still cares enough to look you in the eye--go to Brewerks. My new favorite brewery! I don't know about you guys, but I am pretty tired of the over crowded super loud breweries. Super low key. Fair prices. Big space. Friendly environment. The two ladies working were beyond friendly. We did a taster of two beers and ended up getting the Oktoberfest - which is delicious! My only complaint is the credit card payment defaults you to a tip of: 18% 26% or 30%. What happened to the standard 15%? read more

I saw that we had a new brewery in town, something that is common now days. I read that Brewerks is the 52nd brewery to open on the 49th state. If you google Brewerks, it thinks you mean Brewerkz which is a popular beer in Singapore. I saw that they had a coffee one so I wanted to come down to try it. We got lost trying to find because it was dark and we didn't go down the right road far enough. On the map it's still a dead end road which it's not. The coffee one was really good, not so dark like some stouts can be. The guy said Shake the Frost is the true stout and the coffee is just a dark one. Next time I would try the stout. We tried the stone sour as well and it was good. More tart then sour which is what you'll find most places. They were both really smooth and pretty cheap, around $6. It was pretty busy as we went on a Friday night at 7. They are only open Friday and Saturday 4-8. They are pretty new but seem to have a good fan base and they seemed to have lots of regulars already. They have a few nonalcoholic sodas and you can buy a bag of chips to eat. I'll keep an eye on their menu and would come back if I saw something. Nothing makes them at d out from the rest except you won't pay a fortune like some of the other guys. read more

My husband and I stopped in yesterday while brewery hopping around Anchorage. We were greeted immediately by the owner/bartender who was super welcoming. It was funny because he knew it was our first time there because we used the side door which apparently noone uses. My husband sampled a few of their beers and really enjoyed them all. I had the IPA which I liked too! The facility itself is super cool and open. You are welcome to walk around and check everything out, including the tanks. It's like a free self guided tour. There is an upstairs, basically a loft, with a ton of additional seating. The bathrooms on the main floor are both clean. The owner is eager to answer any questions about his beer. He is also super supportive of the foodtrucks he has outside. Yesterday was a taco truck and it was AMAZING. The other employee was super friendly as well. We plan to stop back in again today if we have time! Definitely check this newer business out! read more

We had an awesome visit at this brewery. The owner/brewer, Chad, is super friendly and ready to answer any questions about his beer. My favorite was the Wick'd Pissah! IPA which he will be canning soon. There were two levels so plenty of space for a group. There was also some outdoor seating under a tent. The place had a super chill vibe. And they rotate between food carts. We had delicious breadsticks at the pizza cart. Can't wait to return! 5 stars read more

Brewerks has a style of beer to meet everyone's needs unlike a lot of breweries these days that's just chalked full of terribly done IPAs. I'm not an IPA drinker but the Nautical Twilight is phenomenal! The owner and his lovely wife sling the beers and make you feel at home. One of the most attractive taprooms of all the Alaska breweries I've been to (this is #40 in Alaska that I've visited) .
